Worked a steel plant for 30 years, some of that time on the rail crew moving the railway cars around the plant. Then on July 13 2003, I fell off the front of a 27 car train. My leg was broke in 15 places. Left Tib/Fib, right at the ankle, causing my foot to break almost off, all except for some skin holding it on. The bones were sticking out in 2 places.
So after I fell off the railway car (oil tanker) I was lying across both rails (head and feet) and I seen that the train wheels were rolling toward me at less than 4FT and going to chop me up, I was the operator, so now there is no-one, it's a unmanned locomotive, going to run me over (my 2 legs and chest/arms), so I go to roll off of the track and away from the rails only my foot falls on the ground. I try and stick it back where it was supposed to be, but now it just keeps landing back on the ground. So now I'm running out of time I only have time to get "between" the rails and I grabbed the Knuckle pin release bar and let the train car drag me, I did not want to get under the next railway car, It was so very low to ground, rolled me up..bad stuff. Foot ended up doing 32 different 360 degree rotations over 32 railway ties. Crawled out from under train, tried to hold my foot on till help came.
