This thing is sweet. My two main questions (apologies if it's been answered before, been away from these forums for a while):
1: Is the stem itself compatible with the v1 bowl+head?
2: (if yes to question 1) Will we be able to buy just the stem on this release or is that further down the line...
Wooo tester upgrade kit has arrived! I forgot how much shinier the original heating sleeve was...mine is quite dirty . I asked Brenyo to swap the boro balls out for SIC and he ended up giving me both! What a guy. Also, this wand stand is awesome.
Question for the masses...I think I want...
Does anyone know if the orings on the Anvil are ISO safe?
Are you not able to get an iSpire Wand in your area? If you picked up a Thermocore, the Wand is very capable with it.
Another +1 for the stock anvil for bubbler use. I don't have the the WPA to compare but I love the normal stem for my use.
I keep my Anvil in a leather sleeve for storage. Because I only use the stem with normal MP usually, it makes it really easy to just keep in the sleeve and then pop it...
Definitely clean it. There are going to be manufacturing oils left on it, and you don't want to breath that stuff in. Grab some ISO and cotton swabs and go to town. I personally like to pour boiling water into all of the pieces once I'm done using alcohol to rinse it out. Then dry with paper...
I don't have the other ovens to compare but I find my threads only stuck when I tried to preheat the oven without the bowl. I actually needed an allen wrench to take them apart because they thermal locked so tightly.
Generally though, I actually find my oven a little bit loose, where it takes...
Where is this little j-hook from?? I love it! the twisted glass looks like Hookahead's recent TM2 stems but I've never seen a full glass piece like that.
If you guys search Brenyo's responses in this thread, he has a couple posts about adapter positioning as well as temps.
For wand temps, 280c/535f until time out will get you right to the 3rd line on a calibrated VI. 400c/750f until the blinks stop will get you just past the 3rd line. I found...
This was absolutely my issue! Thanks everyone who mentioned heating past the clicks on the wand.
Since Friday night I've messed around a bunch with timing. I found that setting the wand to 765F and just letting it time out gave me a perfect (for my tastes) one hit extraction. The clicks are a...
Heating past the click I hadn't actually considered though, so there's some truth there. But yeah I'll probably try just restarting the heating once the second click happens and then just count pulses of the lights...5 or 6 could be a good start, as they're roughly a second apart.
