TinyMight / TM 2

Octavia

No thoughts, head empty
It's always been my understanding that the air path of the TM2 is totally isolated from the electronics, but this guy on Reddit insists that's not the case: https://www.reddit.com/r/Tinymight2/s/J0d3CR3Ajb

Which is it?

Thanks
Did a quick test with mine by inserting a stem, covering the air intakes and drawing and definitely doesn’t seem to be fully isolated. It’s at least somewhat due to my very slapdash attempt at sealing, but I definitely tasted sawdust when the main air holes were covered so presumably some air is going through the wood, or will go through the wood if there’s no other path for it.

Airflow did not change when I covered or uncovered the battery slot or usb port, so those seem to be pretty isolated at least! Airflow was much more open when the air intakes were uncovered, which is isolated enough for me

I got ‘lazy’ and searched and found this on page 960:

It’s fairly isolated from the looks of it :peace:
Thanks, but he never says it's fully isolated. All he says is that

"The Tinymight's airpath is made almost exclusively from glass, or ceramic zirconia"

So it might go through non-intended parts in some cases, as others just mentioned.

I said “fairly” not fully, and the article didn’t mention it either. Folks needs to decide themselves if this is sufficient or not for their needs. For me it’s fine. Love my TMs! :peace:
