I've noticed a propensity for many citizens of the US towards utilising words, whether verbal or written, incorporating a double negative. Is this just their way of trying to be positive, or is it that they no longer, at least to them apparently, speak English but something known as American?

Elon says we have to go live on Mars, a shithole planet, because the Sun will eventually swallow Earth. This won't happen for 1.3 billion years. Human civilization has been around for 11,000 years. What a fucking stupid problem to worry about.

He is full of Ketamine. This is the type of things I would say and with the same tone and facial expressions. He will not live until he is old doing what he is doing.

I've thought that too for a while!
Back in 1999 when he initially made his first fortune with PayPal he bought this McLaren F1 which he promptly CRASHED!

Promise?

He wrote no code for PayPal. His only contribution was suggesting they rename the company "X", which everyone agreed was stupid.
Minor correction - it's Twitter he renamed to X so he could avoid paying all his building lease fees.

The figure I've seen is that Musk lost $44 billion within the first year at Twitter X. Not impressed. I could have lost only $43 billion that year had they let me run Twitter!

Yeah you're right Musk didn't found PayPal although he did benefit fromit.s sale Tesla was similar company was around for a year when he joined.

SpaceX was a lot more successful.

Putin is a War Criminal
Only after Gwynne Shotwell started running things tbf.
People skills is something Musk sorely lacks, and that is where Gwynne Shotwell excels. She is very good at making complex ideas understandable. Musk was never a good communicator.

SpaceX is better than some of his other schemes in that it isn’t a complete scam. Although some may disagree with calling a business that relies on government welfare to exist “successful”.

And let’s be clear, SpaceX’s big goal is to make rocket launches cheaper. That’s it. There’s been no breakthroughs in propulsion. It’s the same tech Apollo used.

That’s all fine. But when I was watching Star Trek as a kid, the big dream wasn’t reducing operating costs for Verizon and AT&T.

i guess that's why DOGE went so swimmingly

I'm gonna give points for them being able to recover the rocket motors like that. So on my last ski trip a few weeks ago i met someone working for Blue Origin. He was mentioning the sheer number of "refugees" from SpaceX that are now at Blue Origin. It is a brutal work environment there.
