"The work recounts the imaginary journey of the narrator, who suddenly finds himself plunged into a dark forest. There he meets Virgil, who invites him to enter the world beyond. Dante follows, and his journey begins with a visit to hell, followed by purgatory and finally paradise."

Does the choice of Dante's name have anything to do with the 'resume' above of Dante's Divine Comedy ? Or something else ? I'm always curious about the origins. :sherlock:

Val d'Enfer, is a valley cut into the rock by water erosion.

Pretty sure it’s exactly the inspiration since the rings + perc looks an awful lot like the diagram of the 9 layers of hell that he travels through.

Here’s a diagram from pintrest

If you read up thread you'll see it is a reference to the levels, but also to honor @Shit Snacks 's friends deceased dog.

One thing I've noticed about the Influx (that I haven't seen mentioned yet) is how conveniently placed and sized the right tube is. I don't think it was intentional, but it makes for such a perfect functional handle that it absolutely could've been. I've found myself using it far more than both my Protege and Prophet simply because I can just walk around with it like a cup of coffee.

Having a secure and comfortable way to handle a piece is such an underrated feature, my only complaint is that I wish the design was mirrored so the tube was on the left side, that way I'd have my right hand free to open doors I wander around with it haha.

*Glowers in Australian*

Still waiting for my Influx delivery! I'm hoping today will be the day.

edit: just delivered! Going to be a fun day off :-)

edit2: good gravy. I've had one glass bowl of flower with the SS Zeal, and it's blown my head off. I'm actually quite amazed how hard this has hit me compared with my china glass!

I completely agree with this. I'm really impressed by the ergonomics of the Influx. Rotating the base 90' clockwise, you end up with a nice 'mug handle' for either hand too.

Coming from cruddy chinese glass, I'm really impressed with the cooling too. The vapour feels noticeably cooler than with any other piece I've tried.

My only complaint is that I think my tastes in glass just leveled up - and postage to Australia suuuuucks ;-)

Does anyone know what's up with the drop-down ash catchers? It looks like there is a regular version that is out of stock, and the large version that's currently in stock. Anyone know what the difference is? I was looking into getting one to use with a straight fab. Not sure if I should try to wait for the normal size to come back in stock.

I use one of the large on the JC glass cali bear straight fab rep and it works perfect. Hope that helps

I have both and the large is just better in every way. It's only slightly larger to clear some Dewar style joints.

The large should work great on your straight fab.

A Blue/Green Influx landed safely today. Yep, worth the wait.

Initial couple of sessions, of mainly getting water level to my liking, and can see this fitting in nicely with ballers and bangers. Really like to no blow back what so ever.

Tried an ash catcher but with the small amount of tubing before hitting water, figured I’d start by just cleaning it regularly. However…

I’ve read talk of fumed matching drop downs possibly becoming available. Sure hope those are made available to color upgraders before being placed in genpop.

Was I knowingly sold a cosmetically flawed influx without my knowledge? I was part of the pre-order, and I get a feedback email from them with some interesting phrasing I don't see on the listing for the Influx. Odd?

edit- I guess I'm concerned I paid full price for a preorder item, and potentially recieved a cosmetically flawed one of which you updated a listing or something, which I wouldn't have another to compare it to up close to be sure of. How can I know there wasn't a shortage of unflawed ones from the preorder and I got the short straw?
