That is a big call as I can see you own a Puffco Peak Pro, Wand, Core2.0, MVS...if only Puffco would sell to Oz.
Based on the volume of sales by Puffco and the DV stem market, in gotta imagine there would be interest. Custom, artisanal but less breakable than glass is a killer combo.Someone on IG asked me about making a Briar Burl Pipe for the Proxy. I think I am intrigued. It would be a very big pipe, but that can work. The first one would be an expensive investment.
In general, I'd like to hear any thoughts on that. Wondering who thinks there is a market for people looking to spend several hundred USD more on a handmade, one-of-a-kind in Briar Burl.

Yes and I wish more people considered replacement costs. Unless you're using a wattage-only M22, then your replacement cost is $160 for a temp-control capable crucible. It's not SiC, but the DTv5 is only $24 for a 3-pack! And it's got continuously adjustable temp control, not just a few presets. So it's been my DD for concentrates. If I didn't worry about wasting product in the ring where the bottom meets the sides, then it would be perfect. The only thing that's made me want a Proxy was a video of a terp perl leaving the Proxy emptied with no wasted product after a couple of hits. But even if the Proxy is saving me $ by not wasting product, it would take a while to break even. And then there's the $60 atty to figure in.If I didn't have like a decade's worth of wax pen knowledge built up, I'd probably pick up a Proxy. I like sitting back with a little device and taking little dry low temp dabs. Unfortunately, I'm certain I've put together a superior dry electric hash pipe with parts I have around the house:
I'll still try to give the Proxy a whirl at some point, but I'd be shocked if I like it better than this. For one, my hash pipe uses black SiC instead of white ceramic. And it's true what they say. Once you go black (ceramic), you never go back. The DTv5 tastes great. The M22's SiC just tastes better and smoother. Can't imagine it'd be different with the Proxy's white ceramic.
I can swap batteries instead of waiting for a charge. It gets to temp in 4 seconds instead of 30. And while I'm using wattage curves instead of temp control, I bet I still have more temperature customization. Several reviews have mentioned the Proxy requiring reheats and leaving a puddle. Never a problem with my little guy. You can take the equivalent of a hot, cold start torch dab, and the sapphire cooling balls will still make it pretty comfortable. No water needed.
Total cost of my hash pipe is about $130 new. Unless you already have an old Pico laying around. It requires a little knowledge to get it going and keep it maintained, but the ongoing cost of ownership is low. Replacement Proxy atty's are $60 a pop. And once the battery goes... you'll need a new $300 device instead of a new 18650.
I'd also rather look like an e-cig douche in public than whipping out a device that is definitely for drugs. The time's they are a changing, but old habits die hard and I'd rather not encourage second glances from law enforcement.
I might get one just because of that killer ad!
