Hello everyone! I would like to introduce you to Joosebox, the first patent pending fully customizable heater solution that allows users to finally enjoy an all in one dry herb vaping experience. You can put down that phone (no app needed) and click in your favorite heating solution of conduction, convection or even 510 cartridge. Snap on one of our mouthpiece accessories (many more to come) and you are ready to enjoy.

We are building a community based product where our users have a voice to push aspects of the design and accessories. This will result in not only the best product on the market but also a vaporizer that is fun to use and customized to your personal preferences.

How can you join the community?

Unlike Kickstarter or Indiegogo crowdfunds (which we know do not allow vaporizers) we have decided to take our company to the next level and create a hybrid DAO (decentralized autonomous organization) where not only can you receive a Joosebox unit when launched but most importantly you become part of our dry herb vaporizer enterprise and finally have a voice to impact the design via community voting. You'll vote on Joosebox features that push future patents, artists to collab with for our limited edition accessories, corporate partners to team up with and so much more! To become an official Joosebox member head on over to our crowdfund and check out all the details.

We have big plans for Joosebox which include limited guest artist accessories, unit enhancements, unit wearables and partnerships that will definitely set us apart from the rest. With experienced users like you as partners, we know we can launch one of the best products on the market and continue to innovate with each iteration and future product launches.

I like Voltron and 8-bit stuff ,so i found the promo really funny .Some of the NFTs are prettu dope too :) !
No App should be definetly a selling point these days, lol.
I like modularity and all . Does it have a built in battery ? or is it user replaceable ?
What material are the heating chambers made of and also the exterior and mouthpiece ?
As far as gettin set into the forum it is best to contact one of the moderators ,so you can get a manufacturer tag.
Good luck with your product, will keep an eye for it !

P.S Cowabubbler is really funny reference to TMNT ? :D

Interesting. Looks cool and I like the colors, that blue one and the green one is really nice (although I alway pick black). Will definitely be watching.

I found this on the crowdfunding page:

We are first and foremost cannabis connoisseurs who strive to push the limits of the current market that has become a stale corporate landscape with limited innovation and no user connection.

This is not my impression. The vaping community has relatively many artisan options and even some of the larger corporations are investing in user connection right here on these boards. Of course I wouldn't mind to be blown away lol, but would have to be groundbreaking product release to live up to these claims.

It reads like a crypto/NFT scam
I thought so as well but surely there must be niches to find where there's a larger supply of gullible consumers? (Edit: or are there more of these type of scams with physical products - or the promise thereof - as some crypto honey pot?)

It also states on the crowdfunding page that all current vaporizers on the market require an app. None of my vaporizers have an app and they're current.
The only vapes I know of that use an app, don’t NEED the app to work. I have a few of them and since Apple doesn’t allow vape apps in their store, I have no access anyway. So, definitely a huge exaggeration on their part.
But just b/c they mention it on their site (so I am ruling not off topic!) these are the only ones I can think of that have an app:
Crafty
Pax 3
Firefly 2
Ghost (discontinued)
IQ2

edited to add IQ2, thanks ss!

I’ve still never met a dry herb vaporist in real life. Hoping to find a market for people who both like dry herb vapes AND crypto scams seems like an odd choice.

That having been said, I hope the actual product is a good vape.

IQ2 also has app capability I believe? Never tried to use it so I don't know... I downloaded the FF2+ app to get the full control, but it is pretty annoying lol and not needed at all...

Yeah there are a lot of broad marketing type claims that are not actually accurate for people like us who are essentially experts?

What seems to be missing from the info, is the actual performance aspect, design and material details?? Staying open minded!

Hey everyone, thanks so much for all the feedback and comments! I think instead of replying to everyone individually I will try to summarize all the answers here but first let me try to explain the DAO a little better and that should help with some of the crypto and NFT confusion.

A simplified DAO explanation is that it's a member-owned community that collectively makes decisions via vote. The hybrid DAO utilizes a combination of community votes and its core creators because a true DAO cannot operate with on the fly manufacturing decisions so things that are in immediate need of direction would be provided by the core team and not voted upon. Example voting scenario could be "Should the Joosebox have a removable battery, cost is X, lead time is Y etc" then those details would be voted on by our holders which are ultimately deciding what the product is and the direction to pursue. There is also opportunity to receive returns via tokens which essentially hold value based on demand for their use, marketing popularity, and so on. So if you like the 80s & 90s nostalgia marketing direction we are pursuing, you can see how the value of these tokens can exist.

An example would be say we vote on having Seth Rogen as one of our limited edition sponsored accessories. We design an attachment that resembles his head, when you change the heater to his custom edition his laugh is the audible feedback etc. These would only be available to Joosebox token holders like you. If Seth's popularity is high then the value of the tokens you hold are driven up in value which you could sell, hold or use.

NFTs are your entry into the DAO. I understand the love, hate and confusion of spending thousands on jpegs but most miss what they ultimately serve as and that's a Smart Contract. This contract gives you exclusive access to the DAO community which at any point you can sell, trade etc if you lose interest in Joosebox or could flip for a profit when we become successful because these are limited and will not be reproduced.

A lot to take in I know and honestly it's not for everyone. But keeping an open mind on emerging technology and the contracts that are held within these really does help clear some confusion. A nice summary about the technology and details here:

Now the good stuff. The main reason I posted here in the FC community is to get people excited about a new product that is different then the current market. Something that has true customization and hopefully checks a lot of boxes off for real enthusiasts. Vaporizers do not have to be so rigid hence all our multiple heaters and attachments which the user can combine as the mood fits. And who doesn't love a little nostalgia in their life.

We really are excited about the opportunity to engage with the community who in the end will be the decision makers so please keep the comments and questions coming and I will do my best to respond to everyone.

@Abysmal Vapor The current Joosebox is designed with a built in rechargeable 18650 battery with a USB C connector. There is a Joosebox Ultra that is also on our future products list that will be more for pro users with bigger and better battery life and yes those will be removable. Now knowing a little more about how a DAO works, this would be a topic discussed and voted upon within the community of holders.

The removable heater is a custom alumina ceramic inner body that is housed by a multi piece sonic welded PEEK plastic which is similar to what would be found in a Crafty or Mighty. The outer plastic body and mouthpieces will also use this same material.

@Abele Rizieri Ferrari 100% agree the vaping community has many artisan creators and those are who we would like to work with for our artist series accessories. The marketing statement of stale corporate landscape refers to the masses who collectively agree and purchase products like Pax, Storz nd Bickel etc. These are the best selling vaporizers on the market every year and its not even close. I ask you what have they really innovated on besides some color changes and adding usb c connectors? And don't get me wrong my Crafty is my daily but there's room for some new guys so why not us?

@Goneja @Jill NYC I believe we might have been misquoted, our crowdfund states "Although all current vaporizers on the market require an app to fully operate, no functionality of the Joosebox will be sacrificed because we have no app." This once again is blanketed at the biggest sellers that have the most mass appeal. There are plenty of smaller vapes that do not lose any functionality, I do own a few as well. Hope this helps.

@Roffa @Abele Rizieri Ferrari @florduh Yes there are many crypto and NFT scams out there but this is not one of them. I've worked on this project for several years now and found a way of utilizing my library of marketing graphics as NFTs that now can be used to fund the company I'm passionate about and hopefully with your help we can make it an overall crowd pleaser. But like I mentioned above this crowdfund might not be for everyone and that is perfectly fine. I will do my best to help educate everyone about our crowdfunding campaign and if you still are not comfortable then yes please wait until you can purchase via your favorite retailer ;)

@Shit Snacks @GoldenBud You are absolutely correct on broad marketing claims, as I mentioned above this is meant to appeal to a mass audience and with that is mainly focused on the biggest sellers. Materials mentioned above as we will be using PEEK plastic which is used for any high temperature needs. Alumina ceramic heaters in a PEEK body. Magnetic mouthpieces are attached to the heaters which are held in via the stainless screen. Performance specs are mentioned in the promo video as Convection 30 second heat up, Conduction 15 second heat up and 510 thread instant. They are pretty close to what we are hitting but believe we can improve on these with our production tooling and parts. More details to come.

@kuzko Yes we do have several iterations of prototypes made. We have utilized 3d printing for almost everything, even the alumina ceramic chambers which is a new technology in printing. We have kicked off custom heaters and do have some production intent heaters that we are using. One of our drawbacks not utilizing production intent materials is the temperatures that 3d prints can handle. There are improvements in materials and even printed some in PEEK but its not quiet accurate enough yet but soon. I can make some videos of the protos we have which would be nice for you to see the iterations and improvements throughout our design process.

The entire crowdfund goes to creating Joosebox and it's community. This includes a very large amount into tooling and piece price per unit. As you can imagine lower production runs cost more but once we are in full swing this will come down. Marketing right now is me :wave:but that obviously would move to someone else as we progress. We have several buildings in the Ann Arbor area that would fit our size of manufacturing and equipment perfectly so we would move on that aspect quickly as well. Hope this helps.

@KeroZen That's after we launch and ship units... but it will be needed!

@kokolokokolokon Thank you, its been fun so far but ready to keep grinding until we launch this so more content to come.

I hope this helped with all the questions and comments and please keep them coming. I will try to respond in a timely manner each night. Now time to go relax with a Joosebox.

Performance specs are mentioned in the promo video as Convection 30 second heat up, Conduction

Thank you for all that info, helps me understand this DAO stuff a little better, though as you see it is not so appealing for this community perhaps lol

I think I meant, more details, than just heat up time, by performance specs, like what are the actual heating elements, how is the usage style (session, on demand) temp settings, interface, power used, stuff like that... Good to know about the fixed battery and materials though!

I'm not going to be joining, but I will watch you from the sidelines and help as much as I can for free over here

I'm gonna be as charitable as possible here. I support people trying new things in the vaporizer industry, especially after the industry got fucked by the PACT act. But anything NFT related sets off alarm bells deep in my reptile brain, sorry. The sales page has 10x more info about NFT's than the vaporizer itself.

I do like the idea of artists having new ways to monetize their work. But basing that on trying to sell unregulated securities to clueless investors doesn't seem like the way.

I ask you what have they really innovated on besides some color changes and adding usb c connectors?

No offense but what's the innovation here? The ability to have conduction or convection on the same device? No apps? Are these really the things dry herb vapers are complaining about? The two most common complaints I hear are weak vapor production ("it doesn't get me high...") and taste. How is your product innovating on either of those fronts?

Also I like 510 carts. But the batteries for carts are already so small, I'm not sure having an attachment for my dry herb vape is a value-add.

which at any point you can sell, trade etc if you lose interest in Joosebox or could flip for a profit when we become successful because these are limited and will not be reproduced.

I've never had trouble offloading a vape I don't want anymore. I'm extremely skeptical you're going to be able to make a profit on a used medical device if the only unique selling proposition is the JPG printed on it, but maybe I'm wrong.

I will say this does address my biggest problem with NFT's. I can always right click save a JPG. The "owner" of that JPG can tell me the blockchain says it's theirs till they're blue in the face. I will never give a shit. So a marketplace for actual physical art in the form of vape accessories might be interesting.

In any case, I'd focus all of my energy on creating a high performing, great tasting vaporizer. That should be the priority long before creating a marketplace where people can buy and sell accessories for it in the hope of making a profit. That's like putting the cart an Astronomical Unit before the horse.

Tbf the company is in the stage of looking for funding, which explains the emphasis on that in stead of product. Also, DAO can work fine if the contract doesn't contain these 'exploits'. But I doubt if the vaping community has a high amount of cryptobro's wanting to get in on this. Still, could interest investors of course. For me I'm really only interested in how the product will turn out.

All these plastic vapes are such a turn off. Dont they learn from what users really like?
I doubt there are many who like swapping conduction and convection. Its Like a good restaurant: If they have too much on the menu, they cant be good at everything.
No Wonder this has generated 0 Funds yet

I don't mean to come off harsh, but I have to agree with @Abele Rizieri Ferrari, @Shit Snacks, and @florduh here: the final deliverable will have to do some pretty heavy lifting to grab the attention of commited vaporists. So far what I've seen from YouTube and the promo page are lovely tributes to synthwave and retro gaming that serve to promote an otherwise average looking battery-op portable.

I'm admittedly skeptical when a device gets marketed as an all-in-one solution, but I'm willing to hear things out with a few questions right off the bat. Without an app, how will the one-button interface be amenable to precise temperature control? Can the Cowabubbler or other mouthpieces be readily adapted to off-the-shelf glass? What are the differences in function between the conduction and convection heaters, and does one really outshine the other? Most importantly, what does the total cost look for someone like me who doesn't dabble in crypto?

Again, I wish you all the best with this upcoming project. It's always exciting to see new DHVs on the up-and-up. Yet, in this case I've got to know what makes the Joosebox preferable to artisan vapes or even more entry level products like XMAX and HealthyRips. Nevertheless I'm excited to see what the rest of the community thinks!
