These have the slit and a press tab on the pid box to release it.

It is possible to have that same XLR connector with different wiring - High5 does this with their equipment. I’ll look into it for you regarding the Dabpress PID.

That is good news hopefully I can keep it down to one pid box and 50 different coils.
😞

I can fit my complete 20mm flower vape and my 25mm dab setup all in my MaxVapor case with the controller. All bases covered, VAS-In-A-Box 👽

I wonder if the other 3/4 might be ready before xmas? 🤠🤔

There’s so many tricks up my sleeve, I could reveal a better vape before this one even gets released :rofl:

That is the Dabpress pinout configuration.

Friday Mood:
Another one at 450F, seems to be a nice spot :sherlock:

You can see that the bowl was sticking on the first inhale; that’s why the finished ones are to be flame polished and not ground, as ground glass is designed to stick together. As I mentioned earlier they overlook the joint work on these test parts which included that, but they should be coming soon.

I watch that thread, but i've got one question.
As the coil heat glass (not high thermal transfer), does it requires long heatsoak ? I'm surprised you put the coil at that low temp, 450F, when FP is put further than 666F.

For the friction between glass, i've got that same issue with my herborizer TI. Always have to keep a finger on the bowl...

Can you post your abv, with the thermal repartition of the bowl ? With no stir ?

I usually give it 5 minutes to heatsoak, so nothing too long.
Though quartz has low conductivity, the way its used here as an oven is what allows this vape to pull low temp draws.

Yeah, the finished version will be polished and shortened to reduce the surface area to help combat sticking.
I'll get some AVB pics for sure. Without the joint customized you pretty much have to stir, due to the way the joint tapers down in internal diameter, thats why its essential that its shortened to open up the airflow earlier in the path to eliminate/reduce stirring. This also allows much larger herb capacity. But once the proper parts are in hand it should greatly reduce/eliminate need to stir (depending on bowl size)

Do you leave yours on for extended periods of time?
And finally that was fast vapor production from start of suck........gotta love that.

Definitely; my desktops are on more than they’re off, I didn’t power this latest one off for at least a week after getting it :D

But I usually turn my vapes on in the morning, and off before bed. And usually I’ll turn it off if I’m leaving the house.

It will vape even more evenly when the joint is cut down as that will open up the airflow earlier in the path instead of focusing the heat at the outlet like the full length joint does. Especially since this is a European spec quartz joint (19/26) compared to my earlier 19/22 borosilicate (plus 19/22 bowl)

Nice abv, the setup seems to handle low temps.

I'm surprised of the 5min heatsoak, less than a FP, or elev8r for qwartz
U use qwartz for bowl and heater ? Thiner glass for heater must heat faster why do u change ?

A qwartz bowl with handling would be top to clean (easier when still hot)

I know that I said I usually wait about 10 mins for the FP, but I don’t think it really *requires* that much. It has more mass than the Herborizer so it should take a little more time to heat up, but please don’t think it takes twice as long. All 3 of these are probably ready to go in somewhere close to 5 mins, especially if you set the temp high so it heats up faster.

I just give them a little extra time and then leave it on for hours, so I don’t even bother checking exactly when it’s ready. If I need something faster I’ll grab a portable.

@VaporWare I sometime do one low temp hit in the morning, (not every morning). So fast heat up for that is a plus...

I always wait at least 2h between use, and wont gonna let it open all the time for that, so again fast heat up is important to me (and for some other too).
And portable are just not as tasty...

A ready to rip will let u fall into addiction... i want to keep control and stay in moderation, accustoming is a shit...

I mean, as far as heat-up time, this vape kind of is what it is.

But I realize that most people want fast heatup times, so I have some designs for that.

And if you really want fast heatup you can buy my on-demand vape 👾

This is the vape I built when I cracked my earlier prototype with the wrench lol.

@invertedisdead

450F is quite low, have you tried to invert bowl and heater, i mean boroscilate for the heater, better conduction, but i won't know if it can sustain the heat variance.

And quartz bowl to reduce conduction lose and let be able to stretch the bowl ?
I know u're a one hit boy :ko:

I get it, and I wasn’t suggesting that you do what I do, just explaining why I’ve never tried to find exactly how long it takes for the FP to be usable. :)

I only leave it on so long because I’m a medical user and to keep the pain relieving and muscle relaxing effects going I often need to use a little at a time many times throughout the night at least. Plus I use high CBD flower sometimes and I can take more of that.

I don’t really get “high”, but using it more often keeps my muscle problems much more manageable.

For recreational users who don’t want to use a lot, you’re right. I tried really micro-dosing and not doing it very often, and that did have more mental effects, but it just wasn’t getting the job done physically.

Still, right now I usually only use ~0.1-0.2g a day (plus edibles), I just spread it out over a longer period, so rather than heating it up again soon after it cools down I just keep it on until I’m done for the night. :)

Sorry to derail the thread a little. We now return you to your scheduled:
