Phase3 Vaporizers

having missed out on the GS, I am in pursuit of the heavy hitting desktop with the purest flavor. I believe this will take the cake. right now this is the only thing stopping me from dropping $$$ on an Herbo Ti :ko:

This!! Lol, I regret missing out on the GS, looking forward to this one being ready.

I have to admit, I am also here due to GS envy, with a little bit of G43 blue (glass) balls thrown in for good measure. I'm not sure why, but in my mind, I've built up this notion that the GS is the end-all be-all of heavy hitting vapes, a personal holy grail of sorts. I was grounded a little by @VGOODIEZ comment over in the Deskpod thread:

Definitely not the top but definitely not the bottom either. I equate this similar to the taste/performance of the glass symphony. Taste takes a back seat to vapor density and speed of extraction.

Makes sense of course given the age and relatively early stage development of the GS, but it was something I hadn't really considered before.

Definitely in for the ride day one here though, no InV envy for me.

A very small batch of units is under construction for final evaluation of my revised design. If it passes all the tests, a new ordering system will be implemented for purchasing one. How that will work, will depend on how much demand their actually is.

Since most of the testing is already completed, it should not take much time to transition from testing the modifications on the next version, into small batch production.

Appreciate everyone following along!

i'm in for sure

Not taking anything away from VGZ opinion, but there are definitely members here with extensive desktop collections who do feel the GS is the king of the hill. Enthusiastic GS owners were some of the first to reach out and express interest in my vaporizer. 👽

Of course, all of the heavy hitter debates end up being quite subjective and preferential for various reasons, especially regarding flavor. Just ask 10 different people who makes the best pizza! :D

That said, when I see people noting improved flavor just from removing the metal cooling unit from their convection portable, it reaffirms what I've been preaching all along. Another thing which I feel is important is even though flavor and perceived potency are what people usually talk about, the real gem of this vape is the smoothness of the vapure. No harsh and erosive radiant heat or piercing reactive sharpness/sting.

Appreciate everyone following along, and I truly love seeing all these familiar faces!

Here's an oldie-but-goodie vid to keep these irie vibes floating! Final version will rip even harder as the airflow has been re-imagined and optimized. :mmmm:🍩🍩🍩🍩

Cool to see the Deskpod heater, it's very similar to my very first desktop vaporizer design (the original InV1)
I have this hung on my wall to keep me inspired through the process.

yes!! in addition to degrading flavor, hot metal just feels harsh. all glass everything is the way

GS was a beast but you need to take care of it too much, never leave it on the bowl, take it to its stand, pay attention if any ball is having sex with the glass cylinder of the heater.... something between ELEV8R and the GS (by sizing properties) will be enough for most people...

You can leave mine on the bowl as long as you want, I frequently use the bowl as the stand, even leaving it on for days at a time.

That said, the other day I designed a pretty cool stand for this vape. :D

I have been researching desktop vapes extensively lately very happy to find this thread. It sounds like everything I have been looking for in a vape device, cant wait to get my hands on one.

Make NO mistake! I AM interested in YOUR vaporizer my friend. I was not trying to knock the GS. It's just not the one I reach for when I am looking to ride the flavor train. Big rips, oh YEAH!

I know that FP or Herbo can act almost like GS if you take a SLOW draw... (i'm sure you know this info lol)
hmm.. so which one you take when you need FAST huge draw? Supreme?

Yeah the Supreme is one of the least fussy in how you use it.

But the Elev8R with the glass ball mod requires a fast draw as well as the Errlectric and Weedeater with the carb cap.

@invertedisdead Have you considered a fritted glass adaptor to hold the pearls? or a lab-glass carbon filter would probably be better as its meant to hold little balls of carbon.

The only issue I can imagine would be restricting the top flow, and making sure the hot zone is close enough to the herb. The only reason Im making this suggestion is because it would be all glass.

Okay apologies.... I read the title post more thoroughly and I have seen you already considered this route. Ive been looking at all kinds of adaptors and it seems like they would be really inconsistent.

I read the last sentence in the Kool Aid mans voice

And I didn’t read it as you knocking the GS in any way!! I just know there’s some serious GS fans out there as I’ve been conversing with a few in recent months.

Definitely, A carbon filter was my original idea for a ball vape.
There's pictures on page one of my sketches showing a carbon filter, and then what I morphed the carbon filter into.
Originally the plan was for something "open source" but nothing existed with the perfect dimensions, so when I realized I had to have the part custom made regardless, I abandoned the carbon filter concept.

Also the push screen/indentations in the carbon filters aren't small enough to retain the pearls; my very first prototype used an indented glass screen which I called the "turbine screen" (I think there's a picture of it in this thread somewhere) as it needed much more indents to retain the pearls, cool concept, but pushing the hot zone further from the bowl hinders vapor production and I found it to structurally be a weak point. A fritted disk was another early idea but they are actually quite expensive and the porosities generally aren't ideal for our use since the fritted disks are frequenly used for vacuum filtration, and the bead pack itself adds some amount of draw resistance already.

Fritter discs are a bitch to keep clean........just sayin.
🐶
He was talking about using one to hold the beads in the heater, but the reason you mention is why one wouldn't make a good bowl screen either. I still have a design for a glass screen but it would have to be made overseas, it would cost more than the vape to make that part in America.

Wow I got schooled. I appreciate it. I was afraid of that on the frit too, I'm guessing you've logged many more hours browsing lab-glass adaptors than I have :o

I'm excited to see what becomes available from you. Believe me, I'm wanting to support you and further innovations, but I hope I can import the bare minimum of parts, in terms of taxable/duty-evaluated goods.

i may sound greedy and ignorant, but Im just a poor student who likes pure vapour so I will try my best to minimize the expense lol

I got that anything, that has airflow is going to have debris.
I find cat hair places in my filtration systems that defy rational explanation at times.
I definitely plan on sucking several thousand cfm a day through mines.

Does that mean....there is debris in my arse? 😮

(I can't get the smilies to work on this site atm so I have to use my own, I'm guessing it is a problem with my tablet software but I'll see if it resolves itself.)
