    Fuck youtube indeed!

These videos are not just of silly stoners doing a 4 gram dab challenge. Much of it was horticultural education like Jorge Cervantes and School of Hard Nugs.

And of course the informative vape review's.

Google is biting the hand that feeds them. I mean I check out a new vape, and all of a sudden Google is infesting every page I visit with ads for that vape.

I smell the taint of Jeff Sessions in all this.

Next yt videos of voting guidelines will be verboten.

Oh, you radical @analytika, I doubt it is that bad! Google is like any corporation, trying to push that boulder up the hill, against the gravity of reality.

But seriously, why do you think YouTube is deleting cannabis channels?

From here I see Google kicking the rock down the hill for every cannabus Sisyphus.

Or maybe you'd be a little more familiar with Charlie Brown, Lucy and the Football.

Partly disagree @analytika. This is how I look it.

Trump has said that if he is presented with a bill from Congress giving the states the right to determine whether to legalize mj, he'd sign it. So he's made a deal with the senator from CO who's gonna present a bill before Congress. If the bill is passed he will sign it ... in return for his DOJ nominations being approved. Trump's no fool, he sees the ongoing state legalization so he isn't not gonna waste his time prolonging its onset, especially if he can get something he politically needs out of it.

Gov. Cuomo said as long as he was governor, mj would never be legalized. Well, now that CT & NJ are gonna legalize, he's changing his tune. Since NYers are gonna go out state, he realizes that all that tax money is gonna be spent one way or the other, so why should it not be spent in NY -- e.g. our employee pension program is underfunded by hundreds of millions. Since Jan. a committee has been reviewing legalization.

And furthermore, the actress who played Miranda on Sex & the City is running for NY Gov. & one of her platform issues is legalization. Her being pro-legalization is appealing to various voters: 1) those who want recreational mj, 2) those who feel the black community has suffered discriminately under current law & 3) I'm guessing here, but makes sense to me from what I know, is that some medical users want to smoke which NY state doesn't allow -- smoking weed is still illegal. Cuomo doesn't want to lose his governorship, so he's slowly changing his tune.

As far as Sessions changing his tune yet again in Feb. -- up until then he had left mj prosecutions up to the states' attorney generals & so far not 1 attorney general has instructed prosecutors to prosecute businesses in legal states, but now he reversed his position once again. I think that's what's happening with YouTube. And while not being a lawyer, I think YT can be prosecuted @ the Federal level directly by the Justice Department because, even though their headquartered in legal CA, their business operates across state lines. Who knows, maybe with the string of recent YT account terminations, maybe YouTube was contacted with the threat of prosecution by DOJ. It's possible.

Personally, I think in the coming months, Sessions is gonna be asked for his resignation.

    Well, that's my take.

And Sessions has what to do with YouTube or Google and the social media censorship /boycott rein of terror touching guns, conservative political expression, freethinking African Americans, and cannabis?

@analytika, I don't see cannabis in the same category as the other issues you referenced. If anything, you would think they would be promoting it, unless they're covering their backside. We'll find out why eventually.

I was about to post the same thing, but I did a forum search first and found your post...WTF? I'm about done with YouTube and their nonsense. Not playing ads on a video that their advertisers don't want ads on* is one thing, but killing videos and whole channels like this is beyond ridiculous.

    * I'm sure there are still advertisers who would be fine with having ads on cannabis related videos if they'd bother to allow the people who want them there to buy them.

Quite frankly, I am surprised that most folks here, don't seem to be bothered by this censorship. Well, it fucking pisses me off. I hate what is happening to this country, what was normal, is no longer.

If you don’t mind saying, are you feeling real added pressure from them lately, or are you just concerned because you see them taking down so many other people?

If you do have to leave YT, I hope you find another place to post videos or just host them yourself because a lot of us get a lot of good info from you and some other good reviewers and we’d hate to lose that.

I wish YT realized (and cared) that in addition to offering reviews as many people do for all kinds of products, you’re helping to keep people safer by promoting vaporizing over smoking and warning people about dangerous products.

You’re not encouraging kids to use drugs or whatever they think, you’re educating adults who were nearly all exposed to cannabis in much less safe ways long ago.

Under the British conservative party's stewardship, the NHS and healthcare regulation in the UK takes a positive view of vaping over smoking.

The Democrats and in particular the Obama administration have been fiercely anti vaping, at great cost in human life as fewer have f* combustion as a result. Ever more dependent on big donors including big pharma and big tobacco, the establishment left wingers have been at odds with the cannabis legalization movement, which is more populist and reflective of Bernie Sanders voters and libertarians right of center.

After losing all three branches of government, and with Trump having gutted Obama's crushing antivaping medical device regulations, you'd hope the US would be moving in the same direction as the UK.

However the increasing power of monopolistic social media platforms, staffed with far left radical technocrats aligned with establishment Democrats, are imposing a neo prohibitionism, a nanny statism, social justice absolutism, shunning and shaming, and an anti cannabis animus that unfortunately is becoming as powerful or more powerful than government institutions. Deplatforming is modern day McCarthyism.

The medical industry and big pharma, which were increasing in political power under Obamacare, found themselves adrift and rapidly losing influence under Trump. They are now exerting their influence by buying off the social media platforms, together with big tobacco, shoehorning their agenda into the tidal wave of censorship striking our shores like a tsunami.

There is hope that the Trump Administration DOJ and FTC will apply the Sherman Antitrust Act again Google, Facebook and Twitter.

Some variation of the Supreme Court's public accommodation jurisprudence may ultimately apply to social media.

The Clinton administration's "Community Decency Act", which effectively licensed all this censorship in the first place, is up for amendment by the Republican Congress.

    There is hope.

(If you're unaware of what Clinton did, look up the CDA, section 230).

I don’t think this is the best place for a big political discussion, but I’m too into politics so it’s hard for me not to point out a few things you may have been misinformed about by our untrustworthy right-wing media (as opposed to our other also mostly untrustworthy media).

If anyone wants to read my thoughts they’re in the Spoiler below...if not, please skip this and let’s hope I’m not furthering the :worms: by posting anything...

    1. The Communications Decency Act was passed through a Republican controlled legislature by a combination of Republicans and decidedly more conservative Democrats such as Bill Clinton (see “third way democrats”). It was not a leftist idea.

In addition, Section 230 is the piece that *protected* service providers from liability for content posted by users. This is what allowed controversial content to be posted and left up on sites like YouTube despite the restrictions the CDA imposed.

The current administration, Republican top to bottom, recently passed SESTA (sadly with a lot of support from the Democrats as well) which again seeks to hold providers like YouTube legally responsible for user posted content. Again, this is anything but a leftist idea.

    2. In the US it is largely the far left and, as you said, Libertarians who support decriminalization of drugs. We are also the groups who in general honestly support freedom of speech for everyone.

The owners of some of these big tech companies may be well on the left on social issues, but when it comes down to company policy, legislation, etc. they are much more “conservative” - really “corporatist” is a better description. They do what they do, whether it’s good or bad for us, for money and not ideology.

    3. The trump administration (like almost the entire Republican Party and most of the Democratic Party today) is of the rich, by the rich and for the rich. All you have to do to see that is examine their record over the last year. If they’ve helped the rest of us in any significant way, it was probably an accident or a temporary PR move.

For example, most of us got very small and temporary tax cuts while the top 1% and corporations got huge and permanent cuts leaving about an extra 2 Trillion dollar hole in the budget over the next 10 years (which they will attempt to extract from the rest of us in a variety of ways).

Our individual rights are also being further curtailed through bills such as SESTA while the deregulation that’s occurring largely allows (once again) the wealthiest people and corporations to exploit our resources for their own personal profit while passing on enormous costs (monetary and otherwise) to the rest of us.

I know we have different ideas on politics (I’m pretty far to the left), but I follow this stuff pretty closely and both the right and far left here are significantly different from what you describe...like I said, our media is largely not trustworthy right now so please take what you hear from them with a grain - hell, maybe a shaker of salt.

I hope I didn’t just :worms: but I want people to realize that the only way the current administration is going to make things any easier for us is if it makes them and/or their friends a lot of money, and if they’re not too afraid their constituents will vote them out for supporting it. A far left administration on the other hand...

If you think I’m wrong, look at the left-leaning states who have legalized and the right-leaning states who have not. Also look at what people in this administration have said so far.

Once it passed in California though, it was pretty much over. It’s only a matter of time (probably a few years at most) before we’re done with complete prohibition, at least of this plant. Censorship on the other hand...so far that’s a never-ending struggle.

I hope that’s all I have to say about this...it’s not what I come to this forum for...if anyone thinks I’m wrong, I hope you look into these issues more, but for now can we just agree to disagree on the politicians and agree to agree on censorship and cannabis legalization? ;)

We see hope in different places, but here’s to hope anyway. :spliff:

Absolutely pathetic. I loved the videos from Troy. Gone are the wild west days of the internet. Now we're seeing censorship over everything.

Screw YouTube. Bloody terrible what they've been doing for the past few years. Mass migration to Vimeo now (lol)?

In the last 2 weeks they've age restricted one of my videos every day, it's like they're playing a game lol

When I started posting vids in 2011 they actually restricted one of my first reviews, the Volcano vid, and when that happened I thought youtube as a platform for 420 stuff wasn't gonna work.

But then I posted a few more vids and they never age restricted one again until about 2 months ago, so there was a ~6 year run where they didn't give a shit, but I knew in the back of my mind they could start to care again one day because their policies never actually changed.

He who controls the $$$ calls the shots, so the moneymen must have told youtube recently "make that weed stuff go away"

I'm really not sure if they actually care about the laws or not, because they seem fine with breaking so many other ones, I think it's more about politics as was mentioned by others.

I'm looking forward to finding new and better ways of posting videos and live streaming, and thank you to everybody to watches.

In any case it's definitely a disappointment but hey, on the bright side I won't have to deal with a Dislike button anymore!!

YT is being sanitized because its a business, so "controversial content" almost has to go under the bus.
