Yep i saw it too few weeks ago in a notification e-mail.. I admit it looks interesting but i am not really a fan of that mouthpiece design which is also present in many other portables .. Anyway swapable batteries are cool enough.

Ah nice its the same body as the starry but their convection answer to CFV/Swift I guess, they've been working on convection for a while now. Not bad results though I to would prefer a more cleaning-friendly mouthpiece. We shall see what performance is like...

Looks more like an IQ than a starry to me.

My contact from Topgreen told me they was working on a convection unit 6 months ago... and now it's landed!

The Starry was decent but taste sucks and airflow is quickly compromised. I hope they are on the next level with the FOG.

I will get a unit for testing/review and will let you know my thoughts about it!

I'm anxious to see what the performance of this vape looks like.

But I can't, for the life of me, figure out why they would attach the mouthpiece to the body of the vape with a fixed hinge?? How tf am I supposed to clean that mouthpiece/cooling unit?

Looks like the top cap is on the hinge..maybe the mp itself snaps off..but yeah fixed hinge is an odd choice..if it breaks your SOL ..unless they have magnets as a back up to snap your top cap back on incase the hinge breaks...looks interesting enough to follow

With all these designs that look clever on paper, my main concern in practice is that it's often absolutely not air tight. When it's before the bowl, no problem.

When it's after the bowl it creates a dilution source and yields a suboptimal vapor/air ratio, also known as wispy hits.

It's been the case for all my telescopic stem vapes (Ascent, Herbstick Deluxe, FlowerMate 8, Elo) as well as the only hinged one I got (FlowerMate HybridX)

PS: and if they manage to make it air-tight it usually means they put silicone in the vapor path, so either way I pass...

This thing just came out. $160, Hybrid Convection/Conduction. Build quality seems nice and its pretty small, about the size of the davinci IQ but a bit bigger. Uses preset temp settings with LED indicators, comes with removable battery and pass-through charging.

Any reviews or first impressions? This thing seems interesting, competing with the mid tier hybrids like the CF/CFX.

Check out Randy’s video review. He nails it.

    Vapor is tasty.

Has a loading dock similar to the IQ that makes loading easy. It’s very similar to the IQ in shape and was one of my first impressions.

Mouthpiece is similar to Starry with silicone insert that holds the screen. Sorry @KeroZen

I hadn’t thought about the problems the attached mouthpiece might pose for cleaning...good catch.

My mouthpiece stem is loose like Randy’s. And the stem is getting hot the way I use it...either huffing or too long if I use a slow draw.

Battery life is okay with the included battery. I put an LG HG2 in it and am getting a lot more sessions on a single charge.

So far, I think the vapor is really good at this price point, but the feature set feels short. More testing to follow!

The metal clip behind the silicone gasket slides out so the mouthpiece stem can be removed for cleaning.

Yesterday I received my FOG by X-Vape and my first good impressions are:

    - it's faster to heat than a GH, quasi-immediatly ready for vaping without consideration with the heating level
    - it's true convection, so the first hit build the heat (and is a bit whispy) but the others produce solid vapor and very good taste but you must to use very long and slow draws (similar to the MiniVap, Swift Pro or FW4).
    - No initial bad taste (from uncured silicone, foam box or factory)

Looks like it will be a winner even if, like @stickstones , I would like to see more features (duration adjustment, water tool adaptater, full t° adjustment) although, for that price, it's a fantastic little unit!

But I just got it..... so I will test it more before my full review.

@PPN What is the price on this one directly from the manufacturer ? I looked up their site and it says 159$ Which seems a bit too much for a Chinese vape. Also x-max is priced at 90$ lol, when it can be found for 30$ .. so i guess this one is 50-60$ max ?

The retail price is 169$ I think, mine is a review unit and I didn't payed for it (I reviewed most Topgreen vapes since the X-Max V2 Pro).

It's too bad they designed the mouthpiece with this shape and made it un-removable cause this vape might shine trough water. The vapor is slightly harsh when you take a long and deep draw and moisture from a water pipe would help to handle large clouds without to cough.

For my last sessions I used a 3/4 full bowl, medium grind, start at 210 for a cycle (4mn) and bump it at 220 for another cycle. Abv comes out very well spent and no stirring needed (you might stir if you use a full bowl and tight load).

Agree with @stickstones too about the battery, the one you get (same than for the Starry) is slightly underpowered and you don't get a lot of cycles (5-7). Still not tried the LG2 or 25R... but will do it very soon!

@PuffItUp shows this vape in stock with a price of $159. This includes free USA shipping.

Randy discounts (if manufacturer allows) usually 15% which brings price down to about $135.

I would never pay more than 60-70$ for a unit with silicone in the airpath + i dont dig this mouthpiece design.
I actually thought of hooking few friends into a group buy for something like the Fenix mini, which price is 40$ for 5pc + shipping. X-max have gone quite bold in their pricing IMO.. may it is due to some contracts with their retailers, maybe they want to discourage small orders IDK,as said they sell x-max for 90+shipping while i can get it for 60$ from a local headshop.. :) You know TUBO costs just ,150$ for 159$ i highly doubt that the fog would beat it in performance, cause for sure it lacks the aesthetics + the precise temp control.

You will be able to find it for cheaper very soon for sure!

The MiniVap is one of the most expensive vape (and one of the tastier and most efficient) and there is silicon in the airpath too. And about the comparison with the Tubo I want to say the FOG is probably stealthier (I never tested the Tubo) but I can't speak about vapor quality even if I guess the Tubo might be superior...

I'm still experimenting with the FOG and noticed it works better with very small loads loosely packed, if you pack it tight you will get poor vapor production and not fully spent abv. . To shortened the session you can stir one or two times.

The FOG came with a concentrates pad but I still not tested it.
It's amazing how fast it is ready to vape, definitly faster than a Grasshopper, so it can be used as a "on-demand" unit without any doubt.

Just got back here to say I get better abv using a small but tight puck. This thing extract faster than I thought and, with a small load, a cycle is enough (8-10 hits). Although, like a lot of full convection units, you can't get the abv as dark as a conduction/hybrid unit or a very powerfull full convection vaporizer. I tested a "clear" abv from a cycle vaping in the FOG (at max from the beginning) in another vape and didn't get a lot more to pull out.

The Hipvap pods fit very well the FOG's bowl and it's a nice option to carry some pre-loaded bowls.

In the user guide it's not mentioned if you can remove the ceramic rotative mp ALTHOUGH 2 small o-rings are provided. I think they are for replacement for the mp, so, maybe, it's possible to remove it and replace with something with a larger airflow...

To increase airflow slightly I removed the metal screen in the mp .

This unit is definitively a keeper, just wished it could heat a bit more (max t° is 220...230 or 240 might be better, especially for a full convection vape. Still not tried it with the concentrate pad but I bet it will be slightly underpowered for this purpose.

Can anyone offer some insight on how this vape smells when it's off/in your pocket? Especially after a session?

Edit: Also, why is this in the unreleased forum? It's on puffitup.

In my opinion this vape doesn't smell a lot after a session.

The FOG will join pretty soon my daily drivers list, I'm even on the fence to prefer it to the I-Heat!!

    It's pure convection, right?

    Does it need stirring?

How's flavor? Can you compare it to others (Mighty, Fury, gh, etc.)?

    Thanks!

Yes it's pure convection, more convection than the Fury(1) but you'll get vapor faster than a Swift/CFV...imo
If you pack it tight or don't grind you'll need to stir but I never stir using a loose pack.

Flavor is very good, it's always difficult to compare but I find the flavor superior to the Fury (for me the main quality of the HR's vape is the smoothness and stealthiness ), GrassHopper taste is nice but quickly done, Alternate (never tried a Mighty/Crafty) or Alfa&others. The more comparable units (because most vapes taste very good... but not for all the session) are the MVT, Minivap, FW4, I-Heat or Mi but I'm not one of this extremely sensible guys to the silicone used in the Fog.
For me, the silicone used here is well cured and doesn't impact the taste at all.

Vapor is smooth, not like the Fury's vapor but definitely smoother than the Grasshopper.

It seems a watertool adaptater is done by Topgreen but they forgotten to include it with my FOG... I'll let you know when I get it.

Don't hesitate to ask. It's nice if @Shit Snacks will get one too and I'm curious to see if you appreciate this vape like @stickstones and me are doing. You like to use lower t° than I use so I'm curious to see if this is make any differences.
