Will this work(Glycerin vegetable tincture)

I've never made tincture/edibles before so I'm a little unsure if this recipe will work.

1)Take 1/8 of grounded bud(all I can afford at the moment), and put it in a mason jar.
2)pour the glycerin in jar until it is slightly above the grounded herb
3. set in crock pot
4.fill up crock pot with water(about halfway up the mason jar.)
5. set crock pot to its lowest heat setting and let sit for 8-12 hours(shake jar occasionally.)
6. Strain tincture with cheesecloth.

And that's it?? Should I decarb the bud before hand? Anything else I should know?
Thanks

That will work but glycerine tincture needs to sit for a week or two to reach it's full potency.

check out that alcohol free tincture thread where you start off using grain alcohol and then use the glycerin.

glycerine isn't a very strong solvent
