Vapolution Pocket Vaporizer

Anyone got any opinions on this, i am torn bewtween buying this or a VaporGenie. The Genie seems to have a steeper learning curve (as in not burning the weed) whereas in this you can see the weed through the glass. I have also heard that even when used properly the Genie still releases tar and toxins, is this true??

Anyone recommend this, its also quite a bit cheaper than the Genie, thats why i'm a bit skeptical (you get what you pay for etc.)

Also it would really help if someone had pictures or a video of how it works. I dont really see how it vaporises.

This vape is simply a boro glass tube that you need to warm up before inhaling, this is a plus to me that i never learnt how to manage a flame and a vape togheter...
on the other hand it is glass and glass in a portable vape is a bit too fragile IMO

ok thanks, is the vapolution a good vaporiser like the genie or do you still get some smoke?? (is it close to combustion rather than convection??.)

I did a review on one of these a while back. It works well but you just have to do it correctly. If you go back to the link you posted, they have a detailed instructions link in the paragraph describing it under "here". Its easy to use and pretty nice looking glass.

Same concept as the ubie correct?

I never tried using shake in it but I think it would work better, I did use little pieces and you just vape the outer edges of the bud but it did work well. For 25, its not bad, its a nice piece of colored glass that has a little design to it versus a crack looking pipe. It also has a stand blown into it for it to sit on a table. If you use shake, I dont think you would suck to much through because its a small hole but you could drop a screen in there easily.

It is the same concept as the ubie and I think vaporbong other then the screen...

I own one and it is a decent standby. Waiting on a PD so using this in the meantime. Takes a bit of practice. Hold the flame a bit closer than the instructions say (hold 1" away from glass). And you can use a regular lighter, just takes a bit longer. Matches too.

You can burn the material if you're not careful. Like I said, it's a good standby until you get the best for you.

I just got a Vapolution Pket vape and I have to say I like it a lot.

I have a Vapor Brother's knock off but I wanted something portable as well.

I bought the kit for $40 because I didn't have a jet/torch lighter so I figured i might as well get it all (with the nice little padded pouch too).

I have a Ubie which I did not like one bit. Too much hassle for my taste, no filter, too small, and got too hot... Tried it twice and never again.

The Vapolution doesn't get hot at all (only the tip of course), and it has a square "stand" so you can put it on the table even when it's hot. -- That stand keeps the tip off the table.

With the Jet lighter, I didn't have to heat it for more than 10 seconds to get vapor, and it's cool that I could see the vapor forming while drawing (with it in my mouth).

I had no worry about burning the herbs, and I could easily see them turning brown.

The second time I tried it, I mixed the herbs a bit with a bamboo skewer halfway through the process.

The only cons I can mention is that it's small so you cannot get a lot of herb in there, but clearing and reloading is a breeze.

I really liked this little vape. I think I will be giving it much use because I'm lazy so I prefer it to using the box.

It doesn't feel too fragile in my hands. Feels much tougher than a Ubie.

I tried it once with a regular lighter, but it didn't work well at all. (No surprise there, since they say on the website that it requires a jet/torch lighter...

Also, I don't find it too expensive at $25, tough I feel that $20 would be a better price since you have to factor in shipping costs. Compared to the Vapbong this is a steal though... and you don't have any filters to clean or replace.

One tip: I used an artist's paint brush to clean it, sine the oils get stuck around that dimple in the glass. -- it's not a hole as I thought when I first looked at the pics. It's a depression that forms a kind of cone shaped glass column that keeps you from sucking herbs when you draw...

They should put up some videos on their website and more/better pictures. I was skeptical when I ordered it and I though it would end up right next to the Ubie, unused...

I have to say, I like this little vape quite a bit.

I might have to cop one of these.

Go the VaporGenie.

With a bit of skill and practice, the VG really shines and can produce very large/clean clouds... the only limit is technique.

Vapes are very personal things. Each person needs to find the one that fits his needs, personality and style.

For example, some people don't like the fact that you have to "suck butane" while drawing on the Vapor Genie. For them, this may be good since you light it and then draw afterward.

I haven't tried a VG so I really can't give my opinion on that.

I'm just going to reiterate what a lot of people have already said. Get a VaporGenie or VaporStar. They heat the air that goes past the bud, which heats the bud, rather than heating the material that the bud is sitting on. Air doesn't "hold" much heat or conduct heat very well, so you have a much wider margin for error when you're heating the air rather than the glass or metal that the weed is sitting on. Because it works slower, you're less likely to "overshoot" and burn the weed.

spaceman462, you're right about that. But you're comparing a $25 vaporizer to a $55 to $60 one (VG).

Is there so much difference to justify the price? And, have you used a Vapolution Pocket?

I've never used a VG but mainly because of the price. I bought a Box vape for $60 that came with extras and it works great. And for around $80 you could buy a Launch Box which I'd rather buy instead of a VG.

But again, to each his own. it's a personal decision.

It consists of around 5" of colored glass with some marbles on it and has a sideways stem on the inside to keep herbs from falling through. It is like the ubie but looks more like a nice piece of glass art versus just a crack pipe. - To use, you simply drop in a few little chunks and heat the sides of it (with a turbo lighter) while rotating it slowly to create an even vape and in about 10 seconds you will be able to get a clean vapor hit. You just have to be carefull to keep the flame at the right distance maybe an inch,so nothing will combust. I had no problems using it without combusting except when I was in the dark and near the end of it I got a little to close and got a horrific combusted smoky hit that tasted horrible and I could feel my throat burn from it. - I think it is a good option for anyone that loves glass and needs a portable vaporizer that does not run on anything but a lighter. 15 seconds with a single-flame torch and you can be done-or way overdone- easy.





This thing goes at your pace, but you can load, finish, clear and reload (very hot, but possible to reload while it's hot no problem), vape second chamber....chill, and cash in like.... i don't know... 45 seconds ...easy.




I broke one by throwing a Mason jar on it, and the other one I had either fell off a precarious wooden chair armrest (poang lol) onto a glass jar, or a glass jar fell off onto it, probably the former; anyway, point is they break, so maybe buy 2 at once like i do. They are that worth it. Blast the iolite, buy or make locally, one of these.



The first one I over tried was a similar style but more custom and beautiful, from an Oregon vendor named Ben- Old Ben, used to go by the name Obi Wan. Oh wrong story. Uh, guy named Ben, yeah okay aka Dr. Vapor at the Ocountry faire. Wonder if he's still around... Wonderful piece tho, a friend of mine got if for just 80usd at a fest.


I ordered two unmarked (no glazed-on sticker) from Vapolution and will have them soon.


F butane. Last ditch, you can use a candle and it takes a minute. But totally doable. You will just get a lot of soot on the outside of the glass.

Nah you misunderstood me, I was just hating on the need to lug butane around. It's not a big deal.
I wonder if butane escapes the Bic lighter flame. I don't inhale while I torch so I don't worry about it.

I got this Porsche PD6 lighter for 25 at unholycocktail, who happened to have their big sale of the day on this lighter the one night I was looking for the exact lighter... anyway, keeps the vaping classy.

At a friend's house. Crew I just met is vapor dabbling and some are more or less incapacitated from a oil pen (the Ninja- from Humbldt?) and I load a small bowl of headband into the pocket vape glass.

Friend says, it's gonna have to be pretty strong to get through... I hand it, ready to inhale, to one dude and he clear it, immediately says, "so what happens?" didn't feel a thing.

with my torch it takes about 20 seconds.

i am really interested in the vapo 2.0 but think i'll have to skip this 20$ add on, however i am still interested because
i think i have a fumed glass blunt laying around somewhere (bought @ lhs and rarely used) and forgive me if iam wrong but couldnt that be used in the same way this vape is?
