VapePower: High Performance Vaporizer Batteries

Self discharge of these cells are around 3% per year, so even a half charged battery would take 16 years to get to the point where it would need to be charged to prevent this. There isn't much you need to concern yourself with when it comes to these batteries.

My man's not joking. After reading this I went to check the battery level on my Solo, which has been sitting in a drawer for weeks after it's last charging without a use. Fucker is still on level 7! This battery kicks ass and is a BIG reason the Solo is on my 'do not get rid of' list,

Truly impressed by the extensive knowledge. Feel like a jackass for harassing you like this, Centizen, but I do have one more question related to the battery. I should have included this in my orginial question: using the solo while it is charging?

Accessories you can get for the solo make it so much better to me
Solo + this battery + EDs stem = heavy hitting reliable portable that won't die on me

Tonight I tested out my battery I got to 8 12 min sessions on 7 and the solo was still felling strong even though the lights where below 1 it felt as if I could get more sessions but Im done I will have to test some more for now I'm going to bed

Solo on charge for tomorrow

Well worth the wait! Installed the new battery, turned it on like the vid said to make sure connection was made, it showed 7 lights charge so I didn't bother putting on charger, time for a session, heat set @ 7 thru F-bomb , finished, checked battery level, still shows "7", fucking awesome! Thank-you Michael

The graph in the OP makes it look like with an old model solo (M102 in the OP but i have a M107 now too) the high capacity batteries only offer about one extra cycle, whereas using a high capacity battery in a new model solo will let you get many more sessions in! Is this accurate?

I've had the CentiZen standard battery for almost 10 - 12 months.
I use a standard capacity CentiZen battery in one of my 107 .
When it gets to the no light on the meter I'm able to use it 4 times ,consistantly before I charge it , takes 2 hours to charge.

My second 107 with original battery I m able to use it once when it hits 1 most of the time then the charge light comes on.
Now I'm waiting for the higher capacity to put in the second Solo to see what a difference makes.
Solo with CentiZen. battery last me all day and night , the Solo with the original battery I either have to use PA at night or switch to the CentiZen Solo to finish the night.
I take the Centizen Solo out and about and never have run out of power.
Well worth thee $$ if you need a battery replaced.

@CentiZen

So I have a very, very weary Solo which needs some battery replacement. I note that there is a back order on your pre-made battery packs... Am I right to say that you ended up using NCR18650B's at 3400mah with solder tabs, then soldered them to the wires in the same way as the original batteries are soldered to the wires in the stock solo?

Is there anything else I have missed, or anything I should take into account?

Thanks :)

Anyone received any communication from VapePower recently? I placed my order on 5/14, sent a followup email 3 weeks later, and I've still not heard anything back from them.

I understand backorder situations but a little communication would go a long way here. Starting to become a little concerned.

Hello,

We're probably on the same boat... I ordered on April 24th, and tried to follow up and get some status info some days ago... got no answer at all....

I do believe they're working hard to have our orders shipped, hopefully :)

Cheers

Here is my take on it. Hc packs are done only by centizen. You can find reg oem packs on pui, but thats about it to my knowledge. So we are getting a specialised service. That said, I feel stock comes after orders. I mean there is no stock afaik. You order, centizen orders the cells, assembles, ships. I waited a long time too, but it was worth it.

It would just be nice to have tighter communication. And collect $ when stock is available? Maybe half before to cover costs, then the rest on delivery? That was the only part I didnt like, paying 1-2months in advance. Something to avoid that is necessary.

Hey there everyone; first off I want to sincerely apologize for the delays and lack of communication there has been from me in the last few months. The back order situation is causing me a great deal of stress as I have been working as hard as I can to get orders prepared and sent out. I am very unhappy with the current status as I had never wanted to make my customers wait so long.

Starting this project has been a trying experience and there has been a very steep learning curve for me as I attempt to scale up to the demand I have been receiving. The business world is hard hitting and fast moving, and I entered in to this project pretty green. I can see now that I let myself bite off more than I could chew and, that demand is not going to slow down to let me catch up. But I want everyone to know that my intentions were and still are to provide a great community service.

Spoutti is correct; I have been the sole originator of these batteries since the inception of the project. I import the batteries from reliable suppliers and assemble them myself in-house. Taking money at the time of order was necessary to bootstrap the project, as I did not have the resources to fund a battery order large enough to bring the prices down to where they need to be. However, anyone who has purchased but not had their order filled is eligible for an immediate, no-questions asked refund. While I understand that this is less than satisfactory, it's the way it has to be until we switch over distribution (more on that later).

While this system allows me to have complete control over QC, it makes me the main bottleneck and I just don't think thats going to work going forwards. Having to handle production, filling orders and customer service has lead to all three of these pillars being neglected and that simply cannot continue. While I am still in the process of working through some of these issues, I want to be transparent and let you all know what I am doing to rectify the current situation.

RE: Stock Issues
Over the past few weeks I have been working with a company to accelerate our ability to fill orders. I hesitate to call it outsourcing; as I will still do in house QC but there are many advantages to having a larger, more professional company handle production. I have been working with this company for several months now and I am confident in their reliability and quality. The HC packs are being made my specifications and will meet all standards set by my hand made packs. I will also be reintroducing the SC packs with a capacity of around 2800mAh. At the moment, I am waiting for the first production run to arrive, which is expected to take 2 - 3 weeks.

In the meantime normal production is continuing and I will be filling as many orders as I can over the next few weeks from our current stock.

RE: Distribution
At the same time, I have been working closely with a well respected vaporizer retailer to offer batteries for sale through their establishment. This will allow an efficient, experienced business to be handling orders, instead of all orders needing to be filled by myself. This will also change the way the order process works, as the batteries will be stocked by the distributor at the time of purchase as opposed to the current system.

RE: Customer Service
I do my best to respond to every email, message and PM that I receive from everyone, but there is a constant influx of requests and sometimes I take a while until I can get to it. To make matters worse, some email providers have started marking mail from some of my addresses as spam, which is making it difficult to correspond with some customers.

If you have had issues getting in contact me via email or the contact form on the site, please reach out to me again through FC or by emailing sales at vapepower dot ca as opposed to my GMX email.

Once production and distribution are taken over I will have a great deal more time that I can focus to customer service. I will do my best to get back to everyone as quickly as possible, but I appreciate your patience as I work through everything.

In conclusion, I want to apologize for the lack of organization, general naiveté and growing pains that I have experienced so far. I want to provide the best possible service that I can, and the current state of things has me deeply unsatisfied. Please know that I am working as hard as I can to move forward, and I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for how understanding and patient everyone has been in face of these issues.

Hi Chaps, i'm from the UK!

Centizen, you said you were using 2800 mAh capacity batterys? I just saw some 500mAh 18650's and even higher capacity ones on ebay, why don't you use those? or 3300 mAh ones? is there a technical reason not to?

Timothy.

because those batteries are awful quality/unreliable/lying about specs/from sketchy manafacturers

you might notice they're cheaper than all the ~good batteries~ we use

if capacity was all that mattered i'm sure centizen would have gone for even higher capacity batteries but batteries are pretty complicated. you have to take many more things into account...

that barely scratches the tip of the iceberg though

which 18650 batteries do you all use at the moment ?

What's wrong with these? they're panasonic
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-GENUINE...rElectronics_Batteries_SM&hash=item2a330f9431

unless you have a professional battery shop that can custom make a battery pack to match the solo's, don't bother trying to replace your own batteries, seriously.

i'm not trying to come across as a dick but you don't just buy new batteries and swap them in on the solo. if you could centizen wouldn't be sellin these.

i understand a bit about electronics, i do it as my job :)

From what i read the solo has a protection board with two 3.7v 18650 cells wired to it, i just cant see the reason why you can't use higher capacity batteries as replacements? like the panasonic ones.

I'm sure there's a simple technical reason , :)

@CentiZen Bro, after speaking to you about what making these batteries involves, I can appreciate a lot of orders would become very time consuming, let alone the issues of reliably sourcing good high quality batteries!

Just wanted to say that I think it is most commendable for you to be so open with letting everyone know of the situation. I think this is excellent service and wanted to give kudos :D

I was just looking in an original Solo battery, there is a thermal switch as well as the protection pcb built into it, Do Centizens batteries contain both a thermal switch and a protection board?

and are you soldering wires to those lithium batteries? or are you using batteries with terminals attached?

There you go, you should have all the info you asked for in there as suggested in 1st post of this tread

And big thanks for your post centizen. The green entrepreneur angle of vapepower explains a lot and my solo is glad you made the move!
