Vac Set up!

So I've changed my methods in bho, and will need a vac chamber/pump set up. I run a quarter ounce at a time, yielding about 1.3-1.5g of bho. I want to vac it into a nice sap/shatter. What's the smallest/ cheapest set up I can get that will be good enough for vac purging about 1.4 g of oil?

Would getting these 2 be all I need?

I'd like to keep it under 200 if possible. Also should I move the oil In the glass dish to an oil slick pad, or non bleached parchment paper? The best stuff I've had was from 710 labs in boulder. Got some wax, oily shatter, and true shatter from them. Very clean, pure medicine. I just want to make some safe, clean bho haha.

Is 3 cfm enough? I'm only purging about 1.4 g at a time. Also what's a small, good chamber under 100?

Can someone point me in the direction of a good vac set up thread?

When buying any new equipment it is usually smart to get slightly larger/better than you think you need at the moment to be able to expand and account for variables. People who get the least they think they need usually tend to regret it and end up getting a larger/better model down the road. Do you always expect to make small runs?

For the next year or so, yes. Only small runs. A half at most once in a while. But I'm going to be moving soon and I don't quite know exactly where, so I'm just trying to keep things small and simple.

Never even knew this thread existed. I have a small set-up/lab which includes a bel-air science desiccator to a 2 stage 7 CFM JB pump. I partnered with my buddy @ogcook on it for our own medical enjoyment.

I will say since making the transition to vacuum with little to no heat the game has changed in it's entirety. We chose to go hefty on the pump so when the time comes to upgrade the desiccator we could handle quite a bit.

I looked at lots of pumps, it came down to 2. JB or Yellow Jacket, both really good units, both offer an easy access port for oil changes and for the most part their similar in price too. Just so happened that this last time I found a good deal on the JB.

She runs quiet, and sucks like a porn star!

1.5 gal is the size I bought for less than ninety dollars.
My runs are .075 to 10 grams.
EBay is we're I bought mine!

Either one will work however I have the 2nd linked one I paid $85 on eBay!
The first link looks pretty cool as well.
I guess I'm a cheap ass.
After you make decent SHATTER (diy) which ever one you get will pay for its self!

I mean the power (15 microns / 1PA), not the speed of vacuum (CFM)

You can always throttle the pump, so I think you will be fine.

How do you do that ? By closing the inlet valve ?

Either pump is more then enough for what we are trying to achieve. 15, 50 , or heck even 500 microns of absolute vaccum capability is plenty for our application. I would say look at which pump is easier to maintain, rebuild, part availability, price, warranty, and durability that kind of stuff and go from there.

Throttling vaccum: can be done with the pump itself if it is equipped with a valve, a ball valve on your vac hose, or the pressure relief from your vac chamber by intentionally creating a leak acting as a barometric relief to atmosphere. Good luck if you need any more help just holler.
