i definitely agree. i have a VVPS with my UD and love using the two of them together. whenever i take my UD to a friends house, the VVPS always comes with even though its big and bulky. if they could be incorporated together that would be a very nice development.

however, knowing the Dog Pound, i'm sure they have already thought of this concept in the past along with a variety of other ideas that are among their R&D. Dave has shown on this thread/forum that if he puts his mind to something that he is going to give it his 100% and won't release the product unless he's completely satisfied with it himself. with this in mind, i'm excited to see what the new year of 2013 brings for UD vapes :)

hey man, i've been delaying writing this post but saw your posting, so..... i like the minimalism of the UD, and even though on stock power i thought it was great, i always wanted to boost the UD to see how extra temp would be like. But i was never really into those vvps that was mentioned cause i thought they were big & bulky.

    then i saw this http://www.ebay.in/itm/310409038167
think it's one of the best price around usd12
    [IMG]
fits into the palm of your hand. has digital display volt output but i have never tested whether it is accurate.

or this more expensive but cooler looking one http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pro-LED-Dig...193?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5aec20ff91 that has a on/off switch at the back.

then get one of these silicon wire cords
    [IMG]

simply cut the ends and just screw the wires unto this 5.5x2.1mm jack. [IMG]

Why silicon wires? using 'normal' wires, the twisting and moving would make it easy for the screwed-in connection to come loose but with silicon, it fastens a lot more securely because of the extra elasticity.

i have no electronic background, so log vape vvps noobs who want an easy vvps fix should try this. Alternatively, those who with solder tools can get the tattoo power cords off ebay then cutting off the "clip" and soldering a 5.5/2.1mm plug onto them.

i don't know how long the vvps would last, but i have to say for myself, the temp control is super for light vapor or when you want to give the UD a steroid boost. i reckon i will not go back to normal power supply after trying the vvps.

    @treecityrnd
would love to know someone who has both the 12v amp dimmer and the mini vvps so we can compare performance.

@ aKa - Hey man thanks for the update and all the kind words.. very happy you've been able to enjoy the Pup! Here's to many more foggy days ahead.

Unfortunately I can't do that Crohnie or you'd be the first to have just such a cable. The problem is the vape you're talking about is a high-voltage AC (well, 120V, so relatively speaking that is) type vs a 12-13v DC type for the UD so it's not just a matter of the cord. I have a prototype UD of that style (from long before our days on FC) but ended up going with the classic 12v DC resistor design in the end. All that being said revisiting an AC model design is on my R&D list for this year so keep your fingers crossed and maybe we'll get there. That being said I think there's pros and cons to both types and even if we make an AC one we'll probably still make DC ones as well.. just totally different creatures.

@ sunsett70 - I have one of those little VVPS too, well actually I sent it to a member of the Dog Pack so I guess I should say I DID have one. Worked pretty awesome and as you noted once you've used a VVPS it's hard to do without.

Ok, questions dutifully answered I'm going to crawl off and get some rest since this cold is really kicking my ass. No worries though the refresh is still on track for this weekend/early next week. :peace:

Anybody here with a WonG have trouble getting the silicone to stay on the glass. I tired to clean mine the other day now the silicone tries to come with my UD when I remove it. Any tips?

The silicone will get loose after a bit of use. When it gets too loose, I just replace it with a new piece of thick silicone. I bought a good length of the thick stuff from Dave a while ago and I just cut off a piece whenever I need it.

Ahh that makes sense. I'll probably just sacrifice one of my extra tubes to the cause. Thanks for the help Stu.

I would say try an iso soak. I was having the same problem with my simple glass stem and silicone. I soaked my thin silicone for 4 days..i lost the water bottle behind the fish tank. .Anyway they came out good as new. But since they sat in iso so long the smell was so strong. I loaded a stem up and felt like i was inhaling alcohol vapors.. :( so i think those are ruined. good luck to you sir

Thanks for the tip, Sunsett. One question: The black one on ebay doesn't have a voltage readout like the one in your picture, but it does have two holes to accept the VVPS cable I got from Dave. How do you adjust the voltage accurately? Can I hook my UD to up to a VVPS that has only one hole? My ideal unit would be a mini VVPS with two holes and a digital readout.

Got my dog last night and ended picking it up this morning. 8 days to travel 6000km. Not bad. When I first opened the package I was a little disappointed by the size. My first thought was ''Does Dave expect this tiny little thing to satisfy me''. Get your head out of the gutter. Anyways plugged it in and waited 45 minutes, loaded the silicone stem and tested it out. First 4 inhalations tasted fantastic. Like minty pine with very subtle but noticeable undertones of fruit. The taste after that went downhill but still still better than ash and butane for sure. Never got any big 'foggy'' hits even with slow inhalation, and I had the tendency to randomly suck too hard which made plant material go up the tube into my mouth. A little annoying but I'm sure practice will sort those issues out. In the end I still ended up visiting the internation space station using very little rocket fuel. That was nice.

Tried the aromatherapy cup and I was surprised by how strongly it smelled. Half my house reeked (in a good way) of peppermint for 3-4 hours. Ill have to order a few more of those vials. Thanks Dave for the extra jars. They're handy for storing fresh and used plant materials. I'm digging the dog so far. It's gonna be hard to gift it next week.

Oh and Dave. Whatever you told USPS worked, cause it went straight to the post office.

Load through the shorter end of the stem. There should be a screen between your lips and the herb, with the shorter side closer to the screen being the side you put closer to the heater. Sounds like you're loading it backward.

Hold it like a straw with the longer section toward you, suck up some flower like a straw and it will be trapped against the screen, then just put that little pile side onto the dog and puff .

Welcome to the club, diebodie. I'm a bit of a newcomer to the world of the Underdog as well... although, it sorta' feels like I've been using it all my life...

Or, one could say that I've had two lives: my pre-UD, and now my post-UD. The present is definitely better than the past. :D

Haha! I did the very same thing my first time using my Dog. You're really going to enjoy your Pup. By the way, your written English is perfect. I doubt anyone would need to correct your "anglicisme."

Welcome to the Dog Pound, diebodie. :dog:

i've experienced the same with my WonGs too. however, i was messing around with the silicone on the WonGs every night; taking the off, putting them back on again, etc. although i'm sure the heat did help loosen it up, i attribute a good amount of it to too much fussin' :p maybe it was partially the same with your situation too? just a possibility.

edit: i've replaced mine since and have tried to not mess around with it too much and so far have had good results. not much loosening whatsoever.

Actually it's my French (native language) that needs help sadly. Canada is set up in such a way that unless you live in Quebec or New Brunswick you won't hear any French. I'm surprised Dave hasn’t printed little instructions detailing what how to use the dog and what all the extra goodies are. Unless I'm just a dumbass.. :)

We do have a little "getting started" card, but we don't include it for packages going internationally. We like to keep the customs officials' questions to a minimum. If anyone ever needs one of these, we can email it.

So I officially got branded last night. In the midst of loading up a stem I nudged the 'dog off the table with my elbow and made a quick-catch. Pointer finger directly onto the heat port on top LOL. I've got a nice crescent moon brand today as a war prize. Interesting cover stories everywhere.
