Loving the Skinny Ash Twigs  Great price! Don't see those lasting very long at all.

What are the general heat up times of those little guys Dave? (Or Amanda :D)

Yep the Skinny Ash Twigs are a good deal, I almost picked up that cherry one but this is my first log vape so I figured I would play it safe.

Get em' while you can.

Wow some gorgeous dogs up on the site with some nice pedigrees  I love the Indian rosewood, madrone, and spalteds. The skinny twigs how would one of those keep up with back to back to hits for a quick heavy session?

+1 on the beautiful wood.
AFAIK, all of the pups have the same heater core, and the different woods/sizes make a fairly small difference in actual performance. I do believe they (twigs) have a little faster heat up time, but that might not be true anymore since the updated heater.

I think it's mostly preference at this point, twigs are easier to manage when running through water. I've got a standard size, and it's not exactly inconvenient but I could see where a thinner model would work better in the hands flipping over, and would be less weight resting on a joint if you chose to go hands free.

Thanks for the reply man. Ya I didn't think the difference would be huge, but I know on lower power logs like the old PD the larger units / denser woods could keep up better in group settings or heavy back to back hits from having a larger heat sink. Although the UD is whole different beast and I could be over thinking this I have a tendency to do that a lot

If I remember right, the ones on the site are all 18mm. I run mine with an 18/14 adapter for right now, so there's always that option. If 14mm are available on request, let me know Dave

Right I hear you.I checked the site also.I emailed Dave already but failed to ask that question.the 18/14 adapter is always an option.but most of the glass that's catching my eye all use 14mm slides.

Where are you looking at all these 14mm pieces? I only ask because almost everything I see these days is 18.8mm. I have an 18/14 adapter, but I have never even had a chance to use it.

Lookout Dave, pretty soon they'll be asking for a left-handed version. :worms:

Don't get me wrong I see plenty of glass at 18mm.but the price seems to jump up quite a bit.not to mention there seems to be more athstetically pleasing styles made for 14mm

I have been looking at quite a few online retailers like just 4 smokers, alt, brothers with glass.there are options our there. But when I do jump in I want to be as educated as possible on my new piece.

Question for you,if I'm going to spend 200 plus on glass should I just get a hydra tube? Been drooling since I saw your Wong video.I'm all for positive peer pressure

oh boy, looks like Dave will have his work cut out for him soon. I'm in need of a WonG but my two pieces are both 14mm AND I'm left-handed

I was JUUUUST fogged enough to think to myself... does handedness really matter. Lawdy.

I'm guessing there are no 14mm because the glass section inside is the standard small tube size, and it's probably too wide to wrap a section of wood around and have it be tapered to fit into the joint. Any smaller gauge glass and it's more restricted.

Just waiting to see what top 'dawg can come up with for a fix haha.

I guess it depends on what other vaporizers you may like to pair with the HT. If you would only be using it with the UD/WonG setup, I would recommend it. If, however you plan on getting a glass piece that would be used with other setups, I probably wouldn't recommend the HT. The only vaporizers that I use with an HT are my UD, Solo (w/ PVHES GonG stem) and of course the Cloud.

Thanks man. I only own the ud and .mflb. I'm pretty new to vaping started back in June.but now I'm spreading the good word...haha

Don't mean to hijack Daves thread but if you already owned the cloud why would you need another vape.isn't that the vape to end all Vapes?
I guess I know the answer though , to be vapor ist is to be a hobbyist.hobbies aren't cheap

I would consider myself a hobbyist, sure. I like to mix things up with different vaporizers. But different vaporizers are better suited to different circumstances IME. For example, if I'm in a hurry and don't have time to wait for the Cloud to heat up, I'll just grab my trusty UD (which is always ready to report for duty 24/7) and get the job done. Other times it's about enjoying the vaporization experience and the many options available for creating delicious vapor.

I love my UD and I believe that it will always have a prominent place in my vape arsenal. That doesn't diminish any other vaporizer(s) that I own in any way. For me it's good to have options. I like options. :brow:

This person also believes a Cloud and UD complement each other well

Also, the UD and Cloud HT are awesome together.

How better/worse do you find the experience with an HT in the Solo and UD, compared to other water pieces?

Or it is not necesserily better but its just to spice things up? :)

I prefer the HT over other pieces for both the Solo and UD. The main reason is the small volume in the HT, and the almost instant clear you get with it. I don't have huge lungs, so it's nice for me to be able to quickly clear a hit by simply lifting the HT.

Notice how quickly the chamber is cleared in this video...

Hey guys, all the WonGs are 18mm so far, to date we haven't had the time to sit down and really see if we could make a 14mm. As pointed out above you start to run into issues of whether the wood is thick enough to wrap around the glass and still make the appropriate taper. That all being said we'll be giving it a shot this weekend when we have our R&D time. Will keep you all posted as to the developments.

If you've ordered a Dog or accessories, they are all as of now shipped out and on their way with the exception of 1 person whom we've contacted. So hopefully that means more happy Dogs and some wild foggy NYE parties.

Alright, back to work for this particular Dog. :peace:

Looks like you guys are keeping busy this season. If you ever need a set of extra paws, say the word, I wouldn't mind the R&D testing position :brow:.

What if the 14mm adapter ended 'halfway' down the joint instead of trying to seal it all the way to the bottom at it's narrowest point? Just out of curiosity I took out the glass portion from the WonG and shoved it into a 14mm downstem. It fit, but only just. If you could get it to form a good seal against the upper wall the bottom section wouldn't matter. Could compensate for the shortening with lengthening the section that meets the silicone (would be a good way to get the 14mm wide enough to match the thick wall stems, so they don't protrude over the adapter).

Not sure if that made sense or not, if you're interested I can draw up a little sketch of what I mean.

nice pick up man. i saw that you posted in the other thread that you got that for only 65 bucks. that's a solid deal especially with that worked section thrown in there. i bet your UD could milk that thing like theres no tomorrow

edit: it's been 6 days since I've sent both my UD's to Dave and i must say that i've missing the heck out of them. no longer do i have the convenience of reaching for a vape that is ready to go at all times while delivering powerful hits. i even cleaned both my glass pieces thoroughly in anticipation for when they return. take your time though Dave, i know they're in good hands.

but you know what they say,

'tis better to have loved and lost than to never to have loved at all'
(even though this 'lost' is only short term :p)

Ive tried grinding my herb to an almost powder fine grind(Mflb finishing grinder). Although I find i can achieve darker levels of abv the airflow seems to be more restricted and makes for some labored sessions. When I first started using my UD i would pack the herb down tighly in the stem. Now I just pack it lightly. Is this the preffered method?
I notice if i leave the stem on the heater port through the whole sesh it makes for denser clouds..
Also cleaning the glass stem is a breaze with some iso and cotton. Im loving the reclaim...I cant collect it fast enough
