I own a PH Space Twig... I may be a little biased, but Purpleheart is a great wood! Especially for an Underdog. The grain is beautiful, and it is very hard (thus durable). I get many compliments on mine, I'm glad I chose such an attractive wood.

I got a couple of WonGs from Dave today to try out. I'm not sure why he sent two, but I figured I should put two UDs to work for proper testing.

I've never really been a huge fan of the silicone stem for direct draw with my UD, but when I realized how much my pup likes to play with water, I've been a quest for the perfect UD/water filtration solution. At first I just hacked away at a thick silicone stem to make a workable solution to connect my UD to a 14mm downstem. It was funcional, but not very elegant.

I then began to use one of Dave's wood stems to mate (albeit crudely) with my glass. I really liked how the glass-lined stem was designed. But it was a bit awkward to vaporbong with due to the length of the stem. It mated with my downstems fine (both 14.4mm and 18.8mm), but again seemed to lack the elegance that I desired.

I bought one of Dave's GonG adapters, and while it was well made and did funcion ok, I didn't like the fact that it required some stirring.

    Enter the WonG.

It combines the sleek water adaptability of Dave's GonG adapter, with the elegant design of Dave's wood stem. The real genius of it is how it is connected by a piece of glass tubing, just like the wood stem. This allows for really tasty hits that don't come into direct contact with the wood at all. This makes for easy cleaning and/or reclaim.

The WonG is not as airtight as a traditional GonG connection, but it's damn close. I did several tests where I blocked the airflow of the WonG stem and pulled hard on my glass and compared the amount of air with the same test using a GonG plug. There was slightly more air entering with the WonG as there was with the GonG, but IMO the difference is negligiable and will not affect performance.

There is more restriction when using the WonG as opposed to the silicone stem on its own due to the smaller interior diameter of the glass lining, but it was not enough to bother me at all.

The WonG adapters fit very snugly into all my glass pieces' downstems. There is a little bit of play compared to a traditional GonG piece, but not very much. The WonG easily allowed me to vaporbong with my ion bub handsfree with no problems. Any downstems that are not perpindicular will require a helping hand as was the case with my BW inline bub (it has an angle to the downstem as you can see in the photo below).

Enough of my rambling. Bottom line is that the WonG is the ShiT. Anyone who likes to vaporbong with their pup should have one of these. Simple as that.

I almost forgot to mention that screen placement with the WonG is as easy as pie since the glass tubing acts as a stopper for the screen to sit flush on. I can't tell you how many times I've been pissed off when my screen moved inside my silicone stem, causing my lazy ass to poke it out, and re-insert it at my exact prefered spot.

Anyway, I'm really high from WonG testing and should probably stop typing, so I'll leave you with a couple of pics of these bad boys.

Theres probably a limited number of people who buy that kind of wood to work with and you probably know many of them. Tell the shady supplier that you are going to warn their other customers of their shoddy practices. If they are at all legit they will make the calculation that making good with you would be better than losing business. If they are truly shady operators and don't care about their reputation, your only recourse might be to take your business elsewhere.

good to hear you're liking those WonGs Stu. they look really nice with your glass and UD's. does the airflow restriction from the smaller ID of these WonG's affect hit quality? my only concern was that the small ID might possibly leave me a little breathless. either way i'm probably still picking one of these up :D

Thanks for the WonG review, Stu

I thought your older UD was one of the BD-vapes with the 1/4th core though, or did you get another one in the mean time?

I use a similar but longer glass stem with my 'self-made' 18mm GonG UD stem and don't really mind or even notice a restriction with that one btw. Ime it's not really an issue, but it may depend on how one packs and/or draws.

Hello UDs - The glass liner in the WonGs is the same glass as the Simple Glass Stems - if that helps you to imagine the draw.

As to Paypal NBAjunkie - You do not need to have a PayPal account in order to check out through PayPal using a credit card, however, I cannot find anything specific to a prepaid credit card in that situation. Since it looks like you've already gotten one - give it a try on the website and let us know so that we can have the answer for future UDs. Thanks!

For the record Future UDs- you can always email us and we'll hold the piece for you if you want to send in a money order for your order.

    :)

OTA, the 1/4" core Bday UD is for display purposes only these days. The second UD in the pictures is a loaner that I used when my polka pup was in the shop. My wife keeps forgetting to remind me to send it back to Dave.
I'll try to shoot a video later today. I didn't really think a video was necessary as we all know how the UD can milk a tube. The WonG doesn't make it milk any better, but it makes the experience better for me.

I just had a nice wake and bake with my HydraTube. I think it's time for a nap now so I can do that again later.

The WonG looks like a innovative and functional piece just like the dog. I'm very excited to see where they end up as a final product.

Surfing the available dogs on the website is blowing me away! So many I would like to own and very reasonable pricing!

Hey guys, so I know I said I was going to get a teak twig. But i settled on the bethlehem olive twig. The more I saw of her the less i could look away. She is a sexy lady with curves. I swear I see a woman wearing a corset in the wood grain, so yeah shes definitely getting a name! (something exotic). Hope this ships tom..wishful thinking..

Ive also read up on this type of wood . Only grows in the holy land. Il respect and appreciate my dog even more! Also i did use a prepaid card. it was a pain to activate but worked. The site pushes paypal but its not necessary..

I don't have good lighting, and the angle of the hydratube shot sucks so you can't really see the vapor very well. Oh, and forgive the bronchitis induced coughing fit that pollutes the audio. Mute your speakers before watching would be my suggestion. But then you would miss out on the awesome AC/DC in the background.

No worries, Herb. Fact of the matter is that I had tried to make a few videos last night that I managed to keep screwing up. I got really baked in the process, though so it wasn't all bad. :brow:

I just loaded the same sized bowl and dumped it on my scale to measure. It came to .08g. I got a couple more nice rips out of that bowl, too. :brow:

Well, there's the famous log vape efficiency for you. ;) In the video, I see you got at LEAST two fairly milky hits off of .08. I find that very impressive indeed.

Just for kicks, I reloaded the .08g that I had measured out and ran it through my polka pup.

Hell, while I'm on a video roll tonight, here's my FC bub from GlassBlowersDirect.

I put them all together in a montage. Even Rocky had a montage.

After running 2 UDs full time for WonG testing the entire weekend, the inevitable happened.... They have managed to alter local weather patterns.

I kid you not. I just took this picture a few minutes ago. I knew the UDs were foggy fuckers, but wow!
