Hi guys I've been a vaping for 2 years with a Pax and I'd like to buy my friend a vaporizer for her birthday especially because she's been smoking a lot and complaining about lung problems so I'm worried for her health. So basically I'm not looking for anything special, just a beginner vaporizer under $100 that doesn't combust. Currently, I have been looking at the MFLB, the Hebe Titan, and the Flowermate. If you guys have any other suggestions that would be wonderful! If not, it would be helpful to know the pros and cons of the vaporizers I listed because I'm not very educated on the low level vaporizers market.

Thanks guys! :-)

tldr; looking for a vape under $100 that doesn't combust.

You should check out the VaporGenie. Their classic model costs $55 and they have other models too, some cheaper, some a little bit more. I own a VG Classic and it's a really good vape IMO. You said your friend smokes a lot, well the flame based operation of the VG lends it a kind of "smoking" vibe that I personally find pretty satisfying. And once you get the hang of it (really not that hard at all to do) it's really easy to pull nice thick vapor clouds from it. I'd recommend taking a look at the VaporGenie thread here at FC.

Hope this helps, and I wish you luck in your search :)

This guy is fantastic to deal with: http://www.stickstonesvapes.com/
Agreed; whatever you end up going with, I'd suggest dropping him a line. I haven't had the pleasure of doing business with him yet, but from everything I've seen on this forum he's a great guy and I look forward to doing business with him in the future. I'm sure he could help you out.

I have been looking at the MFLB, the Hebe Titan, and the Flowermate.
I've been using the Flowermate V5.0S, and it's a solid, easy to use and maintain vape available at a good price. However, I've just tried out the pen style 'Storm' (an improved X-Max V2), which does both herb and concentrates, and I think it's a great buy for $106. It has 5 (appropriately spaced) preset temps and an isolated vapor path. The user replaceable 18650 battery is also a big plus IMO. The draw is pretty restrictive, but that's par for the course with a small bowl and e-cig size. Sipping dense vapor when you have a short air path, instead of trying to hit it like a bong, is the way to go anyway. I haven't combusted, even at the highest temp setting, and I'd highly recommend it. Once you get the button sequence down, for turning on/off and setting the temp, it's a very easy model to use.

MFLB has a learning curve and i found it took far to long for a good session, so i gave mine to a friend as a gift. Check out the Vapor Genie or the Lotus as others have said, both solid vapes for the price. Lotus is a little better as it has no butane in the airpath.

I've been vaping for about 3 months now after many years of combusting. A friend of mine introduced me to it with a Wispr 2 from Iolite and I loved the taste so much better but I didn't have enough $ at the time to buy one. I also loved the fact that it made one bowl last so long, and how I got so much more stoned than when I did when combusting. (Even better high than smoking blunts!) I ended up getting a kube (Mflb knockoff) which I also love because I found one on eBay for 30$ and its been working great, besides the problem of batteries running out too fast. I prefer the taste of vaping to smoking hands down but I keep going back to combustion because its faster and more convenient. I like to smoke blunts when herb is plentiful and when I need to conserve I like my old school one hitter cigarette pipe with dugout which is great because it gives you a good size fresh green hit every time . I wish someone would come out with a vape that was more like that so I could vape one fresh hit at a time without wasting any herb.

I was in your same position, only used a onie and a dugout. Try looking up a lotus or vapor genie, they are great starter vapes for their price. I own a VG and love it, though wish i had gotten a lotus instead.

Hi @Killa $moke Ninja welcome to FC! Quit combusting and it only gets better and better! I just bought a UD which is an Underdog Vaporizer. If you get a NonG (nylon on glass) vape to wpa (water pipe attachment/adapter) it will be exactly what your looking for in a onie, plus you can get a GonG (glass on glass wpa) for bigger loads. The HI is a similar DC style plug in vape that offers similar attachments and wonderful WonG's (wood on glass wpa). Hope this helps, enjoy your journey, you have come to the right place!

@Killa $moke Ninja Flyer posted from MFLB about Da Kube's health risks (splinters and glass dust).

I think most of the good options for under $100 got mentioned. I don't know of anything that is exactly like a one-hitter bat and dugout that is a vape. The new Grasshopper might be the closest. That is due to come out in May. Next to that, as mentioned already, probably Lotus, Vapman, Vaporgenie, or Vaponic is the closest. Vaporgenie has a chillum shaped glass pipe, and a Stainless Steel Coil that is one of the cheapest Vapes around $35. But they are known to be a bit hotter/harsher.

Thanks man I appreciate the advice. That sounds like a good one I'm gonna check it out . I've been thinking of making a diy pa for my kube to upgrade a bit but it sounds a lil dangerous. I also own an old box whip style vape which is also great for getting big hits but I hate waiting for it to heat up and it toasts the herb too fast especially in a group. I took it apart to see how it works and I started thinking maybe the eletric parts inside could be used to make a diy pa for the mflb! (Or da kube in my case) but I don't know enough about electricity to attempt it. What do you guys think?

Ya I've been looking at both of those and I've heard good feedback on both as well but I've also heard some negative comments about the glass vg not hitting right

I've heard of all of those except the vaponic and I would like to try them all eventually. I also recently purchased a flowermate on eBay (from someone who's name I'm not sure if I can mention because of the rules). I initially liked th look and feel of it but I ordered the one with three temp settings but I received the version that only had one. I was disappointed but I tried it out anyway and it gave a couple decent size hits at first, but the vapor quality faded right away after that. It didn't seem like it was getting hot enough to produce big hits like I want and it seemed like I turned alot of green herb brown right away without even getting very much vapor. I cleaned it out and sent it back so I could get the right one that I ordered instead, but the claim they never received it and I lost the tracking info in the process of moving to a new house so I can't even track it . I spend 70 on it but ended up with nothing and now the wont return my emails when I ask for my replacement.

Haha, probably could be said about anything, no? That thing looks like a crackpipe lol, but as close to a 1 hitter bat as you can get I think

@Killa $moke Ninja There have been some attempts at the one hit bat style. One was called the Vapor Lithe. It looked cool, but it had some problems and they are no longer in business. The other is the Nimbinvap, similar to the vaporgenie but like a little chillum. But you need a torch lighter and an extra piece of tubing because apparently it gets too hot.

E-nano or Underdog - both of these are classified as log vaporizers/home/desktop units - they can do this well with dry hitting. They are the best at conserving.
