UK Petition Against Insurance Injustice

Hello fellow FCers,

I hope this is the right place for me to request some help from U.K. FC activists, regarding a recent injustice me and my new family have been subjected to.

Jl3PXD3.gif

I know this activism request isn't directly linked to MMJ (though I do self medicate a disability), but it is still worthy activism all the same and hope this meets any FC forum rules. :hmm:

I have started a petition to try to get something done about this, as we initially received a 'loyal customer, retraction letter' after the press got involved as well as my local MP, yet, we have just received our 'loyal customer' quote via telephone and it has gone up 326.64%

I feel so strongly about this issue, I openly use this public forum to try to gain some traction and support for this petition, as you only get 6 months to reach 10,000 signatures, if the petition is to achieve anything, even then it has a long way to go!

https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/122636

Please use the above link if you are a U.K. citizen and sign my petition, as well as circulate to friends, family and social media.

Direct Line made £315 million gross profit in 2015, yet failed to honour our insurance contract, failed to fix our car, endangered our lives, damaged the vehicle further, and then refused to insure the vehicle because we have been innocent victims of crime, and to top it all off to say sorry and reward our loyalty of over 15+ years of car and home insurance with them, they increase our premium by almost 327%.

Please help me bring a stop to this financial services criminal injustice.

(I would also point out that the police lied when providing details to the press, as it has been 5 reported, out of more than 8 hit & runs incidents in 4 years!)

Thank you for your time and your support.

Regards,
1DMF :rant::leaf::rockon::peace:

That sure is shit mate, I will of course sign your petition and get people I know to sign it...

What are you supposed to do, I'd be very angry...
My car is 17 years old and if it was crashed into it would be imperfect and lose all its value, whether it was fixed or not...

Have you considered cctv for the future, to catch the people hitting you, then it would come from their insurance...

Just signed petition...

If you feel your insurance company has not held up their side of the contract, you may have the right to take legal action against them

Thanks for your support, it really is appreciated.

I have sent a stinking letter to the newspaper and my MP, threatening legal action if this isn't sorted once and for all.

Direct Line are financial services criminal scumbags (No doubt why they use Winston Wolf in their advertising)

I may be disabled, but I'm not stupid and I will not lie down and roll over regarding this issue, I will walk around town with a sandwich board handing out leafleted evidence of Direct Line's criminal behavior if that's what it takes to get this resolved.

I am livid! - as if we don't have enough on our plates with a new born baby, that we can't take anywhere because we can't insure our car due to the crime wave in our area that nothing is being done about.

Our town is meant to be a sleepy retirement seaside resort, which appears to have turned into a crime ridden shit hole!

All insurance companies are scum bags, all too quick to take your money but when it come to paying out, they fight shy...I do bare minimum insurance, be it car or house or phone...

For instance I have lied to my insurance company for years, never declared my drink drive (off my licence now), lies about it being unmodified and parked in a garage, I will lie my arse of to get the cheapest quote...
I know this gives them more opportunity to get out now paying, but they do that anyway...
If anything happens to my car I'll just fix it and not involve the insurance...
I'm lucky to be a qualified mechanic as well as a BMW certified painter..
My insurance is only to cover other people really... I'd never claim myself, although I am fully comp..
I don't feel bad about screwing insurance companies over, done it a few times... got them to pay out 5k for that car i crashed while drunk...

They can tell if you have made claims so you can't lie about that...

A way round this for you may be to register and insure your car at a different address, and maybe put it under your partners name too..

Signed and verified! What theyre doing is wrong on so many levels, along with the sandwich board idea have you considered, creating a simple web page/site or blog to air those dirty rotters out? it could also be usefull for coordinating with others who are in a similiar position?

The insurance is my partners, I'm just a named driver, she owns the car.

It is criminal that insurance companies are allowed to play dice with peoples lives - literally putting them in danger, but then refuse to insure victims of crime relating to a legally required insurance contract and even have the audacity to call us loyal customers and reward us by increasing our policy by 327%.

Criminal fucking scum! And I should know because I work for the FCA - the industry so called 'regulators' who couldn't regulate pass-the-parcel at a children's party!

We were going to get rid of the car and buy a new one in my name instead of the wife (we even have a test drive booked with Kia next weekend), but now as our insurance runs out on Friday and as we can't afford to renew it, we have no means to travel to the car show rooms to test drive a new car and part exchange our current one.

We will have to put it on our in-laws drive and leave it to rust, what else can we do other than drive without insurance?

Every day is a struggle with my disability, this literally had me in tears last night, as I am finding it hard to cope emotionally for the way we are being treated. :bang::cry::disgust::rant::cuss:

Mate I feel for you, try not to let this shit get to you,

I'm sure direct line will remove the declined insurance flag, and cover you for a reasonable price, they don't want this bad feedback, you've done everything right...have you spoke to watchdog or the insurance ombudsman???

Now you have gone public, the management will take over...

I really hope this gets sorted for you...

Signed and verified using both my names, will start sharing the link with friends and family.

Hope you get a result without too much extra stress bud, keep your chin up, all the best to you and your family.

We got a letter initially retracting the refusal to insure, stating they realised we were 'Loyal Customers', after the press article and MP got involved, only to increase our premium by 327%, because that's how you treat loyal customers in this scum industry I work for.

Financial services is run by criminals for criminals, I should know I've been subjected to their incompetence and criminal behavior for 13 years - I'm sick of it!

FCA = Financial Criminal Association (though I have a couple of other choice words the F & C could stand for ;) )

I've contacted watchdog, but no response, and what's the point in going to the financial ombudsman, when the regulators are incompetent criminal scumbags, that's like going to the Don (Godfather) and complaining your boss is a gangster!

They are all in it together, ripping us off to make millions in profit while they no doubt dodge tax, and make the squeezed middle pay for everything though their taxes and hiked premiums, it's a disgrace.

The less well off are slowly but surely being moved out of London and the surrounding counties. Council rent capping and bedroom taxes are destroying the structure of community in these areas. I lived in Oxfordshire in a quaint village a long time ago. The locals I used to drink with could never afford to buy or rent a house in the village their parents and grandparents were brought up in. They had to move to the council estate on the outskirts of the city.
Your situation is just another way of outing the less well off. We are returning to times of the landed gentry only the well of will be living 'down south'. The manual labour needed to run the southern counties and the capital will no longer live in the area and will commute in to feed the needs of the wealthy. The whole country is run by corperate criminals who as you say dodge billions in taxes.
Good luck mate and take care.

Unbelievably my local Tory MP Tim Loughton has conspired with the police and actively endorsed an insurance premium hike of 376% while swanning around town at tax payers expense, while forcing me and my family to take our car off road as we cannot afford to insure it while the insurance company still hasn't fixed it from the latest hit & run incident.

The fight goes on and I am now seeking justice through legal court channels as diplomatic local government avenues are a waste of time. It's despicable the way our current Tory government treats disabled people, even Iain Duncan Smith has had to resign!

Thanks for all the support, much respect to you and your families.

As long as it's a pacifist army, I'm in!

If it can work for Ghandi, then we must try, though I'm not going to walk around in a loin cloth, not a good look for someone with my beer belly! :myday:

All I can do is continue to take action and perhaps, gain enough support that I might actually make a difference.

Well nothing ventured, nothing gained, so in for a penny...in for a pound

In the end ITV Judge Rinder just gave me the run-around:- http://dance-music.org/ITV_Judge_Rinder so I'm making a claim through my local small claims court.

I've also started another petition : https://www.change.org/p/prudential...urance-companies-to-penalise-victims-of-crime

To see if I can gain more traction using this platform, so please be kind enough to sign this petition if possible, every little helps and the fight must continue.

We cannot allow Financial Services to behave in this disgraceful manner, big business needs to start paying their fair share in taxes and start treating decent people decently and honouring the contracts that bind them.

@kellya86 As you can see, I have been busy preparing to do battle with that gangster insurance company.

ITV Judge Rinder wasted a month of my time, but at least I had started preparing my case documentation, which will serve me well for the civil action I have filed yesterday with my local small claims court.

Coupled with Dad duties and being back to work, hasn't left me much time to socialise on FC!

I'm trying real hard to stay calm and focused, even though it's an uphill battle, I refuse to be deterred from my goals.

This is something I feel very strongly about, and will expose every charlatan that stands in my way, including the Jeremy Kyle team.

I appreciate any support I can get, and will of course keep you posted when I get my day in court.

I'm sure you appreciate it's taking a long time to collate all my evidence, which that list I sent to Judge Rinder is only some of what I have. I asked Judge Rinder's team to help me as a disabled applicant, but instead of helping they appear to have discriminated against me and simply messed me about!

No matter, the fight goes on as does my evidence gathering, as I have every intention of proving my case in court.

At least I finally managed to take Aodhan to see his dying Aunt. I had to hire a car on Monday and drive over to her hospice. It was very hot in her room, so had to be quick with the jumper she had knitted him, you can see him getting red in the cheeks!

Ah that's nice, means a lot to the older generation to see the latest generation, I make sure I go out of my way a lot to ensure the family get to see the kids...

And man he is getting long...

You must be getting very fed up with this, things like this are not easy, and it's very tempting to give up when you feel like your just the little guy getting shat on, it's hard to make a difference but I have much respect for your persistence...

I would get angry and start hunting down the ceo of direct line, find out where his car is parked and key it every day till he can't insure his car...

I almost wanna do this for you...making me angry now, I hate big companies and the government shitting on people like us.....

Did you have any trouble getting a hire car??? did you have to declare your claims...

@kellya86 I appreciate the sentiment, but please don't, you know two wrongs don't make a right, and stooping down to their level is beneath even you surely?

I too am fuming over this whole escapade, especially that lying Tory scumbag, and JR pissing me around hasn't helped, but I must not become a hypocrite by acting inappropriately (or having someone else do it on my behalf!)

I'm sure they probably have a company car and it wouldn't make any difference anyway, might even do them a favour and get a new one!

Did you have any trouble getting a hire car??? did you have to declare your claims...
No problem at all, and I used Enterprise , who provide the courtesy car for Direct Line each time for us and so are fully aware of my situation.

They came and picked us up from home to take us to the shop, and I explained the entire situation with the driver, they agreed with me, Direct Line are in the wrong, and consider their behavior slander and victimisation. He said OK maybe put your insurance up 10%, but 327% that is blatant vitimisation of an innocent victim of crime.

So no , no problem at all, though I did pay the extra £16.00 for the reduced excess as it's £1,000.00 normally and so reduced it to £100.00 - as I said to them; with my luck currently with constant Hit & Run incidents, I can't afford to take any chances and be stuck with £1,000.00 excess.

I even took the car back 12 hours early (same day instead of 1st thing next day), because I wasn't prepared to take the risk of it being parked overnight outside our home, when the vehicle had served its purpose.

Don't worry I keep my vigilante rage in check, I'm smart enough to know that no good comes of these actions, still it's nice to imagine...

I'm not a thug or yob, and I certainly wouldn't risk police trouble....

I will never use direct line now, and will spread the bad word about them to all I know, this is more damaging to them anyway...

Least you can still hire a car then, I know that's not a solution for you, but still it's good they haven't ballsed everything up for you...

I wish you all the best when your day in court comes....

For sure, mentally I did more to many involved than simply key their car!

It required a baseball bat, some nails, hammer and a razor blade, plus this sound track ...

:goon: :zombie: :rip:

Good job there is no such thing as thought police - well not yet, not till we are all plugged into the matrix (A.K.A. The Internet)

Well I decided to take court action myself, after ITV Judge Rinder fucked me about.

I now have a judgement against Direct Line, and have sent a letter to the FCA (The Regulators) requesting they ensure Direct Line honour this judgement, otherwise I'll be sending the bailiffs round by issuing a warrant with the court sherrif.

I have also sent a letter to the Prime Minister David Cameron, formally complaining about his scum bag Tory MP.

Maybe now Direct Line have realised, they fucked with the wrong person!

A victory for the little man
