i just got caught up on The Americans on FX on demand.

i'm not saying who dies, but damn good show

Been watching The Americans since it first came on. Great show. I may have kind of a special affinity for it though being that I lived through those times during the cold war as well as worked at the NSA. We spy on everyone, including our friends, as they do to us, but it's really interesting to see how the other side deals with it. Our fear of communism back then eclipses our fear of ISIS today by a long shot and I have no doubt that they, the Soviet Union, feared us back then just as much if not more.

This weeks episode was a bit of a shocker though, eh? Not quite the Red Wedding but my reaction was almost the same. :o

I was kinda like what took so long? ;)
Like leading up to it I was just thinking huh this has gone on quite a while actually!

But yes my favorite part is the time period spy craft really, and they create some good twisty plots each season as the characters grow

Yeah, but it was the way they did it and the expediency of it all when the decision was finally made.

But yeah, the spy craft stuff is interesting but for me, what's even more compelling is how they deal with day to day life here (raising kids and such) in the home of their enemy. It personalizes the trials and tribulations of the other side and makes them human rather than just a cold, calculating nemesis, although the ability to be cold and calculating is a prerequisite for that job.

I've been watching Boardwalk Empire lately, and Last Tango In Halifax. I just finished Peaky Blinders. Absolutely terrific shows! They're really well produced and have some quality writing.

My new favorite show is Weediquitte on a newer, to me, channel called ViceLand. It's hosted by Krishna Andovolu.
It's not a, "Let's get stoned and seek carnage" type of show. He goes deeper in the 'culture' of medicinal cannabis. I find the shows intriguing, thoughtful, and well done. I'm not going to lie, a few episodes had me in tears. Stoned Vets and Medical Migrants I think are my favorite shows of the series so far. Definitely worth a watch.

I'm also watching Curb Your Enthusiasm and Flight Of The Conchords.
Some of my favorite shows are British comedies. Mr. Bean, Thin Blue Line, Keeping Up Appearances, Vicar Of Dibley and many others.

Oh yeah Viceland actually just launched, replaced History's H2 channel, they're doing some interesting stuff, should only get better.

Have you heard of the show Episodes? Might be right up your alley given those comedic leanings... Certainly many more like em

Outlander's new 2nd season just started last weekend. Watched it last night. An awesome series. Time travel to Scotland in the 1700s.

Hm... This sounds interesting. I may have to check it out.

Yeah, Viceland does have some good shows. Other than Weediquitte, I've seen Balls Deep, F@ck, That's Delicious, and I can't remember what else.

Pun intended; I've seen a couple of 'episodes' of Episodes and enjoyed them.

What's the record for most quotes by a new member? :ugh:

I have been enjoying the show better call Saul .. not as good as breaking bad tho

I like it. It does move a little slow at times, but I remember BB having it's slow times.

I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too
I have recently discovered Adventure Time.

With a busy lifestyle, this child friendly 10 minute per episode animated fantasy show is a perfect fit for me.

I love it.

There's something coming up on the 14th and if you have Showtime, you should not miss this: "The Stanford Prison Experiment."

If you haven't heard of this, google it. Fascinating and it brings into clear focus how things like police brutality can come into being.

The Girlfriend Experience on Starz. Just watched the whole first season last week.its not just porn its a great story along with it. IMO well written. The world of high class prostitution.

Riley Keough stars as Christine Reade, a young law student who gets drawn into the world of “transactional relationships” — essentially getting paid for sex. “In the film, you’re parachuted into this girl’s life — this is her job, this is what she’s doing,” says Soderbergh, who calls the TV show more of an origin story. “Here was an opportunity to watch somebody fall into this.”

I hear it's different from the movie. I didn't see the movie.

Outlander is awesome too, it started a new season a month or so ago and it's on Starz.

Mr. Robot is an exceptional show with quality writing and excellent cinematography. Loved the plot and very much recommend that show to all of you. It won the Golden Globe for best Drama Series it's first season, and the second season will be premiering this summer.
Currently about to finish the second season of Daredevil on Netflix, which was pretty good for a Marvel show. The fight choreography, however, is incredibly well done.

Just started watching "Love“, on Netflix or maybe Showtime. First episode - no idea WTF is going on... second episode, things start to fall into place. There's sex, comedy, drama - definitely going to watch the full season.

Pretty poor time of year for TV, IMO. Tried Preacher, don't like it. Tried Outcast, ditto. But, Ray Donovan is back and Another Period, and soon Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll :)

Really like Donovan and SDRR as well.

Another Period? Don't know anything about that. Anxiously awaiting the return of Mr. Robot along with Halt and Catch Fire.

Edit: btw, if anyone is interested in Preacher, AMC is running a Preacher marathon starting with the pilot tonight.

Another Period is like Downton Abbey meets Keeping Up with the Kardashians, silly fun from two comediennes on comedy central... Angie Tribeca is another good one for silly fun

SDRR was surprisingly great, looking forward to season 2. Maron is having a good season as well, always kept getting better each year... UnReal is really good too actually

Halt and Catch Fire is back toward the end of August, as is You're the Worst, and yeah Mr Robot back soon, plus Killjoys, Survivors Remorse, and BoJack Horesman this month... also really excited for Stranger Things on Netflix and Vice Principals on HBO too

Oh and for some brief bits of humor, History has a late night block with short series like Crossroads of History and Great Minds with Dan Harmon that are also online and pretty fun

On SNL I would like to see them portray in a skit the Trump family at the dinner table. With the whole family. Including maybe an x-wife or two. It could be like Thanksgiving dinner. It would have to be before the election. It would be entertaining after the election too. Maybe at Christmas opening up resents. If it was funny enough they could do it ongoing. I've seen them do a parody with some of the members. I would like to see more

Watched some reruns of Breaking Bad last night. Too bad it's over. I would like to see more good well made, well written shows like that.

You don't see really good shows any more on the three major networks, ABC, CBS and NBC except for SNL. Al the CSI shows are all blending together for me.

Edit
I love Better Call Saul.

Did you ever watch Justified, Carol? That's always my recommendation for BB lovers, it's similarly incredibly well-written in a literary style and beautifully shot, with great characters and quite a bit of dark comedy... I've actually been enjoying Better Call Saul a lot too, may even like it more than Breaking Bad somehow
