Yeah mine took a fat ass minute too, it has to go through customs and whatnot. It'll be there soon, I had to pick mine up from the post though because they wouldn't leave it in my mailbox

Hi guys. Been away for awhile between work and life getting busy.

Since finding a steady local source for AmAzing concentrates, my flower devices are collecting dust. Thought I'd sell my TuboX, but I can't seem to post in the Classified on FC. I got a message saying "You have insufficient privileges to post here." Guess I deserve that for being so lax in posting here the last few months. Anyone else go through this? I am wondering how long for my privileges to return.

    Thanks!

Yep i think there were even 4 weeks wait for shipping with some but i might be wrong.. I felt lucky being located in EU for once when i ordered it it came within a week :),but no matter how long it takes i am sure you will be satisfied, even more once you get the hang of it.

    hello!

long time no see (me)! things got mega in the way of other things, long story short i havent had much time for programming nor building many units. still there are some things in the works with stems and the new solid wood options.

went to spannabis and had a blast meeting @Padriano, @Aezhenn, @phattpiggie, @Ed's TnT and @duff. also briefly shook hands with @VapCap :D

there was a drop a few hours ago and the shop is stocked with custom tubos, solid wood tuboxes, straws, capsule stems (more to come) and spiked 18mm bent mouth pieces. :brow:

@Aezhenn is working on a few new shapes, as this fatty amboyna burl stem
    [IMG]

there is also one more idea in the works for cooling stems:

and working on inlays as a possibility for custom units:

    hello everyone!

the evic vtwo mini is no longer in production and i am running out of units. :uhoh: already purchased some fake ones when trying to score the "last ones" from ebay, pay attention! :cuss::worms:
anyhow, it was an absolute pleasure to build this model and i am super thankful for how well it was received here and thank you for the support.

    what will happen now?
there are about 30 tubo evics left to built. after them i will finally transition to dual units. there are some interested people already on a list that are waiting for a while now, thanks for the patience! the build of consequent dual batches was pushed out because of the vtwo minis running out and i was not able to manage two assembly lines in the past.
the dual units will come with a twist, stay tuned!

some of the remaining tubos can be purchased around 4/20 with 10% off. the code also applies sitewide:

also want to show off these two!

Ever thought about building a desktop unit? The Tubo heater is one of the best (if not the best?) out there, but needs power like hell. One cell is not enough for a big bowl with a 50/50 weed/hash mix.

    Hi guys

I have my tubo since around 9 months now and everything worked perfect.
But since a few days it seems that my tubo doesn't recognize my draws anymore (more specific the display shows no temperature drop while I draw). Due to that the heater doesn't heat (PWR stays at 0.9w).

I then tried different settings, for example I operated my tubo at eco level 3. As it is described in the manual the temperature should drop to 135° celsius when no draw is recognized. But in my case the display shows much higher temperatures even that I do not draw.

Sometimes after I turned my tubo off and on again it works like expected. The settings I use normaly are the standard settings from the manual.

Does anybody of you have an idea whats the reason for this behavior?
It seems like the temperature sensor has an loose contact or got broken.

    Thank you in advance,

    Holga

I, and a few other folk, have a power supply built by @funkyjunky to run the Tubo. It's big... but is great

I'll see if I can snap a pic of it later.

Plugged into the pa is the only time my Tubo shows 100% battery (all the time). Dunno if FJ builds/offers them anymore.
There was a pre-built and a kit option.

There isn't something like a temperature sensor :)
Temperature is calculated by the resistance of the coil(s). So your error could be resistance related. Maybe your resistance is not locked?

Menus --> Coils --> Manage --> TUBO here the locked symbol has to be set

Actually most temp sensors are using the same tech to measure temperature.. In with termocouples it translates the shift in resistance at its head into C/F ,the same thing does the ecig software, but it assumes that the coil is the termocouple itself... Maybe thermocouples have higher accuracy because of the material stability(compared to ss),but they measure temps only at one point of the heater, where that head is. While in the TUBO heater concept the termocouples=coils are stretched into the tubes ,measuring the whole surface of the heater simply because they are the heater itself.
@funkyjunky Those do look amazing . What is that stripe on the black unit made of ,resin ? ?

I'm sorry pal but that is incorrect. Thermocouples work due to the Seebeck effect (AKA thermoelectric effect) They are made of two dissimilar metals and they produce a tiny voltage which needs to be amplified to be usable, and this voltage is correlated to the temperature.

There are temperature sensors based on either positive (PTC) or negative (NTC) resistance changes though, but they are AFAIK not suitable for our applications.

    @Alex3oe here's my Tubo PA...

Big, but not unpleasant to look at. Perfect if you vape a lot in the same place (at a PC/desk etc). Connects using a false battery door/battery piece.

    Wow, that's huge :D

But exactly what I thought, a nice long wire with a TUBOx on its end.

@KeroZen Well reading random stuff on the internet often brings confusion/mixup of terms.. Just looked it up,and yes it seems that thermocouples are measuring the temp based on the raise of kinetic energy in the head.
The effect TC software is trying to mimic is one of a RTD not a thermocouple..
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resistance_thermometer

Resistance thermometers, also called resistance temperature detectors (RTDs), are sensors used to measure temperature. Many RTD elements consist of a length of fine wire wrapped around a ceramic or glass core but other constructions are also used. The RTD wire is a pure material, typically platinum, nickel, or copper. The material has an accurate resistance/temperature relationship which is used to provide an indication of temperature. As RTD elements are fragile, they are often housed in protective probes.

    RTDs, which have higher accuracy and repeatability, are slowly replacing thermocouples in industrial applications below 600 °C.[1]}

So in the TUBO heater (and many others ) We still have the scenario where the Heater is the RTD itself :).
Among popular RTDs are the Pt100 and Pt1000 which are commonly used with PIDs.. Which are also known to have better accuracy then J/K type thermocouples, which are only used in temps above 600C ,because of their durability.
    ----------------------------
I kinda starting to suspect that TC software would deliver far better accuracy in most convection on-demand/ecig portables than a thermocouple, which only measures the temp at a certain point of the heater.
Imo until we dont see convection vapes adjust their temp according to what is happening in the herb chamber, this is as accurate as it is going to get :).
