"A major metabolite of delta 1-tetrahydrocannabinol reduces its cataleptic effect in mice.

Burstein S, Hunter SA, Latham V, Renzulli L.
Abstract

The results described here demonstrate that THC-induced catalepsy in mice can be substantially inhibited by the prior administration of delta 1-THC-7-oic acid, the major metabolite of THC in most species including humans. This raises the possibility that the intensity and duration of action of THC may depend to a large degree on the levels of this metabolite at the sites of action."

Thank you luchiano for this article! I have access to the journal in one of my university's libraries so I will check it out and read their findings. I am really curious as to how the metabolites affect the body's tolerance to THC.

You're welcome.

Revvy, I'm not going to explain again how fiber increases the rate of metabolites going out of the body because I did two times already and you still don't agree so it's pointless to keep doing this.
Luchiano, you have made claims about the general action of fiber in the metabolism of THC-COOH but you have not supported your claims with any kind of documentation or specific information.

While it is true that I have already made up my mind, that I believe detoxification to be BS, I am not unreasonable. How quickly I conceded my last point after shown evidence should tell you as much. Further, even if we were both dead set on our opinions, casual public dialogs such as these benefit future readers whose opinions may not be so resolute.

So, I'll ask again for you to support your claims with evidence rather than statements. Specifically, I'd like to know more about your thoughts on the cholesterol reclamation cycle and and the specifics of how fiber causes/aids in the excretion of THC-COOH from the skin.

To make it simple can you explain to me why would a siginicant amount of people who have taken certo packs which is basically pectin(soluble fiber) pass drug tests which measure for metabolites of thc if in your thinking fiber plays no role. You can't say it's water dilution because I've read cases where only 16 ozs were drunk and they still pass and some where they smoked before drinking the certo and still passed.

Do a google search and read all the experiences for yourself but I'll give you one. I'm not going to look for scientific articles trying to prove this point because it will take too long and I don't feel like proving something that has been done by so many people that has shown it works. If you are scientific you shouldn't have to wait for test to be done to at least have a belief in something until you can prove it's facts and how it works because if you live like that you will evolve very slow like most who believe in everything that is funded by corporations. Don't get me wrong studies are great but I'm not going to wait for a study to be done to find out something when I have a brain and senses to put together the knowledge myself and come up with a conclusion.

"Listen. I have been smoking for 5 yrs. I am currently on Probation. I was coming due for a UA and I knew that I was not clean. I did all the stuff your supposed to do (exercise, drank TONS of water and cranberry juice, sat in our hot tub nightly to burn fat, took detox pills, ect...)
They day before I saw my P.O. I went to Rite Aid and bought an at home drug test. I tested positive for THC within minutes. I knew I couldnt burn it out of my fat in time.
So this is what I did...
I went to a grocery store, bought some FRUIT PECTIN in the canning/jelly aisle, I bought a quart of apple juice, mixed ONE packet of pectin w/ the apple juice, chugged the apple juice about 3 hours prior to testing. Immediately after the apple juice I slowly drank another quart of water mixed with the second packet. And thats it. I pissed at least 5 times before I went to see my P.O. They sent me to a place called ADVANCED drug screening. I was worried, but I had nothing to worry about as I found out later. The technican came back to me and said I didnt test positive for anything and gave my test results. NEGATIVE! Whoo Hoo! Just the day before I was testing positive, the very next day, thanks to fruit pectin, I passed. It works. I promise."

I did this post just to show you that this fiber method is not something I'm making up and being that you don't believe it chances are you're not going to do a google for experiences like I recommended so I thought I'll at least show you one post to get your intelligence and questioning going and rev you up to look more into it and find the answer you seek.

so i was researching cannabinoid receptors last night and came across quite a nice read. ill try to find the link but it was very enlightening.

basically they tested various cannabinoids on rats.

long story short:

they tested a synthetic cannabinoid on some of the rats and found that their cannabinoid receptors down regulated by massive percent after a weeks use. i believe it was around 80%.

the rats given thc and cbn (cbn is found heavily in not so good weed) showed almost no sign of down regulation.

so it seems the stronger the cannabinoid the more receptors it uses. which is the way i thought it would be.

i need to find this article for you guys and gals.

i also remember reading something about how cannabinoid receptors are constantly opening sites and closing them down to compensate. why hasn't my body done this at all? i know for a fact that the jwh i used is long and gone from me. its been a long time and it is water soluble after all.

you would think that going back to vaping good weed would cause some sort of effect by now.

if anyone has any info on how receptors open and close sites in the brain that would be great. cant seem to find any info on how cannabinoid receptors build sites. would be nice to know.

does receptor sites build immediately after use? after quiting for a day? how does this work.

CBN doesn't affect THC RECEPTORS. CBN has a major affect on the immune system which are CB2 receptors and THC has a major affect on the central nervous system which are CB1 receptors. This is why they found the outcome you explained.

EDIT: I forgot to add that CBD slows down the rate at which thc is metabolized and being that it does this it means that less thc will actually be used due to staying in the receptor site longer and give a stronger affect and therefore less metabolites. CBN works on the same receptor sites as CBD although not as strong. I read that CBN also slows down the metabolism of CBD but I can't find it but do a google search for CBN THC metabolism and you may find it.

i couldnt wait any longer. took 3 full days off. durring these days i noticed a profound change in how my head felt. i know that sounds weird but its hard to explain. i vaped some good weed in the surfer today that a friend brought over.

needless to say that 3 days did something. i can actually get high now. however i noticed that the high feeling didnt last more then 45 mins.

im thinking my receptors are regulating back to where i was before. so my question to you guys is should i go back on my break or keep testing the waters? ive read from other people that by simply cutting down your intake you can lower tolerance without full quiting.

what do you guys and gals think?

i've noticed that my tolerance to less potent herb has gotten to the point where less potent herb only lasts about 3/4 - 1 hour in the same small doses i used to do that would last about 1.5 hours.

it's not a huge differance, but i do notice that it doesn't last as long, i'd say wait a week, or try some potent stuff.
