This page shows the difference in size too, kind of...we'll get a side-by-side screenshot put up at some point for better comparison.

The Zion-12 design was reviewed in detail with the custom woodworking manufacturer today. he was pleased with the design for manufacturing changes that we made at his suggestion. 2-3 weeks and we will have our hands on the new form factor.

Masterful work @thekarmawhore! It truly is becoming a precision work of art.

So I am having some anxiety as 2x4 unit number one is now with Mr. peanut but I know it is in good hands. I am looking forward to him putting it through it's paces. On his advisement we made a critical tweak that dramatically reduced the center darkening issue we where having :)

I know the #1 suggestion will be a metal mouthpiece... Cooler and more durable... Oh I know there will so much more lol. Well, isn't that why we Beta? :)

Making clouds my friends, making clouds. I spent the evening in the RBT zone getting to know the 2x4. This thing has grown by leaps and bounds compared to the original alpha unit I tried. I am literally BLOWN away lol. Rest assured I will put this beast through it's paces and report back. I also got a little hint of things that may come down the road. I may just be pontificating but I think you will see RastaBuddhaTao around for a long time. Me? I am going back to spend some more time with my 2x4 :D JEALOUS????

Top of the morning to you my friends. I started off on a fresh and full charge on my batteries for the 2x4. It takes a few rounds to figure out where you want the heat. I am currently running at ~1/3 of power capacity. I am on round #7 and no sign of drain on the batteries. Now that I have the power dialed in the clouds are nice and dense. I think finding the right amount of heat for your draw style and flow strength is the way to get the best out of the unit. Not even 24 hours in and I am in love. I am going to torture the piss out of this machine. It is currently 15 deg F here, it was -11 deg F when I woke up. The 2x4 was heating some seriously cold air and still left a nice vapor that coated my airways and left a nicely browned duff. I will be putting a lot of material through this thing daily I expect between 15-20 sessions.

Well, we really appreciate the torture you are putting yourself through for us. :) 15-20 sessions a day? I hope you are retired... ;)

Well about halfway through the day here on the farm and 13 sessions in on the first charge of batteries in my 2x4. Still hitting clean and green. The battery life is blowing my mind. I know that new batteries will obviously hold a charge better/longer than older ones but I am hoping as the batteries age this stamina continues.

I started out loading .3g every time which packed the bowl tightly but not so tightly as to create a noticeable increase in airflow resistance. I found after a while however that lightly packing the bowl to about half capacity (by volume) produced a thicker more enjoyable vapor.

The box remains cool and comfortable to hold even after 3 consecutive bowls and the vapor is still nice and cool!

@cybrguy - I have some chronic and terminal health issues but I am not retired (kind of). I am a poultry farmer and the birds pretty much take care of themselves which leaves me plenty of time to medicate and beta test this beast all in the name of science I say :science:

@RastaBuddhaTao will the Zion be able to handle concentrates as well or will that be a whole other unit down the road?
We attempted to do both and found that the method for concentrates worked well but contaminates the unit with concentrate residue and taints the flavor moving back to flower. Mr P and I discussed it and have one more idea to try but sometimes a car can't be a truck. Th dedicated unit works so well I hesitate to release a sub par method in the name of marketing... On the other hand if we don't design in an adaquate solution the DIY folks may not come up with as good of a sub par solution lol. Plus we can do concentrate with one battery making for a more cost effective smaller unit. Product platform planning is tricky. What is everyone's thoughts?

A lot of us don't do concentrates, so if making them possible or better in any way diminishes the quality or efficiency of doing flowers, the compromise wouldn't be worth it. Better to create a different device for concentrates, IMHO.

Thanks... That was MrP and I's conclusion as well... Flowers rule! Lol. I have Configured Mr. P's unit for flowers only and the performance improvement is noticeable in both vaporization uniformity and efficiency. So, no it will not do concentrates lol

22, TWENTY-TWO!!!

5 grams total, .2 - .3g per bowl over a nine hour period taking about 4 rips per bowl. This is a very abnormal pace/quantity(I do have a horrible tolerance issue) for me but I feel like those damn batteries and the 2x4 were taunting me. I finally won but wow I did not think it would take that many rounds!

I could eat a horse but can barely move. When is dinner?

4 hits per 0.30g only? I put less than 1/3 of that in my Ascent and can sip for 20 minutes non stop while doing many temperature levels. Is this the kind of vape like the Crafty or Mighty that are meant to cash a load as fast as possible? Coming from a spliffs background and never using watertools, I'm a bit concerned if this can't do long laid back sessions.

@KeroZen, I could have easily sipped all day long using much less material. As I said the batteries were taunting me. I was drawing monster rips and I noted that is an abnormal quantity/pace. For Science I say lol.
No normal human can consume like that consistently lol. Those are just averages of numbers... remember folks I am a buddy and poultry farmer. Not a mathematician or engineer lol . Also remember there is a power regulation knob that will allow you to adjust it however you like.

I must say that the ability to cash the bowl in 4 big rips excites me. Sometimes I admittedly am in a hurry for effects to take root, and big rips usually take care of that. I have been known to kill a bowl in my Lotus (over glass) in 1 or 2 hits, even tho I can go much more slowly. A full bowl (about .15g) hit may risk combustion in the Lotus. I would LOVE that kind of hit without that risk...

Yeh MrP and I observed yesterday that on the lowest setting you barely heat the load and between 1/2 and 100% you can roast a load depending on your draw style. We can tweak the heater to the hot or cold side but it seems to be centered pretty well. The 4 different frequent users and multiple demo sessions on the 2x4s will give a broader spectrum to start to ensure that everyone has a "place on the dial". One of the Beta sites is a couple... She is a sipper and he is a ripper... They should both be able to find there own sweet spot on the dial during their sessions but time will tell. Normally I am a sipper and gradually increase the temperature as I go... But if I am in a hurry I have nearly cashed a load in one draw. This thing has nice turn-down with a pretty wide span... I noticed the larger dial gives finer adjustment. So much learning coming out of the 2x4s!

I also wanted to add that I do not roast the hell out of my flowers, just golden to slightly browned. There are a few good hits left in there but I do not like to take it that dark. I like the flavor on the front end much better as most do and probably toss a lot of duff with decent active compounds.
