That was my first thought, too. But then again, who knows what's under those covers? IMO Revolution needs higher capacity to be even more useful, not a mention of that?

It's got my curiosity up for sure. Good show it's coming out before the Christmas bills start rolling in.

"Other than the switch's the exterior is all ceramic which insulates the heat, this keeps more of the heat in the chamber and improves efficiency."

Thanks. I sit corrected, surprised and confused, but corrected. I'm not sure insulating the battery is all that good an idea from a heat management POV but we'll see all about that soon as well I guess. TV has no doubt thought it through and tested the idea.

The product descriptions have been updated since the announcement. It now gives a much clearer explanation of the device. I'm excited to learn more, hopefully they'll release a video soon.

I can understand all that Tim, no issue with that but as a customer buying a device to last for years of good reliable service, also bearing in mind the price, based on your high build specs, I would have liked the choice to have a device that had 500% better battery life and a ceramic core...

Through my experimentation to get the Evo to do what the iOlite did with ease is not easy path. it takes 6-8 batteries for one 'bowl' of pollen and ceramic hands to deal with heat transferred to switch casing, which effects ability to be easily mobile. I'm done with the iOlite because its too fragile, their customer service is shite and because not totally comfortable with gas but with a one - two hour vaporization time no need to carry a can of gas (or extra batteries) when mobile. Also not sure what metal bowl their is made of.

I mainly vaporize pollen because I self medicate, I'm bipolar, it good for reeling in the highs and focusing myself, I'm not looking to get smashed but I'm looking to get effectively stoned. I effectively self manage and avoid the state prescribed chemical kosh, I'm a musician so all energy goes into that - the lows are the real bitch, but controlling the high helps low, bigger the high, bigger the low.

I would be interested in this shielded interface to deal with heat but looking at your site none of the old units or parts exist there anymore. Do they physically exist? Is there a deal to be done 'old' stock/model parts? What about the mains power units also?

I have been exchanging emails with Zeki of which I'm sure you are aware.

Yeah OF mentioned the alcohol option but do you get out what you put in and is the process quick and easy? I tried oil from Da Buddha in the Rev without much success

    regards

    Greetings Krazy

    thanks for you input.

I fully understand companies have to develop but as i said to time currently its 6 - 8 batteries for 'bowl' of pollen which makes mobile a wee pain considering iOlite give you 1-2 hour vapor time but not going back to them.

you said before process is easy

"I would just like to point out to glenda that it is extremely easy to go from pollen to a hash oil using isopropyl alcohol. It's pretty much just soak, shake, filter, and evaporate. When using pollen it can be just as good as any butane hash oil"

is there more exact instructions or is it that easy? 'cook' time?

    regards

    Hey glenda

I don't know if anyone has asked you this yet, but how much pollen are you loading up at a time?
If you are loading a full bowl that may be the main cause of your issues and why you are burning through batteries so fast. I don't currently own the Evo but I have used one a few times. I feel pollen is so dense you may not want to load more than .2 maybe .3 at a time otherwise there may be too much to heat up before you get anything out of it.
OF or someone else who currently owns an Evo please chime in here.

As far as the process from pollen to oil I feel it is that easy but I am going to private message you detailed instructions. The main things to keep in mind is how you evaporate and temperatures to avoid to preserve the most flavor and psychoactives.

As we said early on, pollen is not an easy thing. Something else is in play here (technique wise), 'everyone' gets at least a bowl from a good set of batteries??

Yes, there are no doubt such instructions, I've read them (never done it). There is no cooking time (or heat used for anything but evaporating off the solvent) with such processes. It's a washing deal. The solvent dissolves the good stuff out, like washing the salt residue out of your clothes after a day at the beach. Do a Google search on "Butane Hash Oil" for the general idea (using Butane, kind of dangerous and not needed) and "ISO quick wash" for the specifics of the process with bud. Using pollen is much easier since you don't have to be quick since there's no chlorophyll or other junk to worry about. I think KK's suggesting has merit if you intend to do more than a little from time to time.

    Good luck,

I guess I'm not sure how they would know you didn't have a base (why wouldn't you order one at the same time then??), but there are other options for bases. The upcoming new models (the reason they no longer make the originals) will work just fine with the (planned) adapter to match. There are also several low cost 'battery and switch' supplies out there some of 'the guys' like. I don't have one of these, so can't comment on them, but they have a following too. Perhaps someone who uses them can suggest a model?

FWIW, I think these guys are popular:
    http://www.madvapes.com/advanced-pv-s/roughstacks.html

Although you need a spacer of some sort to raise the Evolution up enough to get to the switch. Some different brands have the switch on the side so don't need an extender.

    Good luck to you, too.

    Greetings OF

I have wondered about some of the batteries you supplied as at least 4 charge very quickly and don't seem to last long at all, all are only 1/2 months old and I only use the EVO when mobile, Da Buddha at home, although recently been using EVO more at home to perfect technique.

Krazy has kindly mailed me with technique to create pollen oil.

So no more spares for my EVO? As in insulated part discussed? x

Firstly thanks again for oil message

I was just putting a small amount in EVO originally, the amounts you mentioned, but was not getting much back hit wise...it takes a fair amount of heat to extract vapor. I had same thing with iOlite, small bowl full waste of time and best filled, could last a whole night down pub on one bowl.

With EVO I have done the same, fill it 3/4s full, this drops when heat hits it to 1/4 of that and I get noticeable hits and vapor for 2-4 hits then I get no viable vapor but warm pollen tasting air which I believe is still having effect on me but not as noticeable as first few viable ones - maybe its psychological because I cannot see anything lol During this you do need to take insulated mouthpiece etc off and use tool to break up pollen as tends to stick and pack together initially due to nature of pollen and its stickiness - as crumbly as it is, its very oil once heat hits it.

Would be lovely just to load pollen and go as before with iOlite without all fuss inbetween but I will persevere

The battery issue is a bitch but as I said to OF below maybe I have a few duds, as a few charge fast and dispense fast, one set just warms things before dying x

    Thanks again

You seem to have me confused for two other fellows......

I've supplied noting but hot air and lame advice.

When more than one otherwise independent battery from a group shows stuff like that I think charger or application first. The chances of getting say half the group to die early in life are slim indeed. Not that it doesn't happen, but lighting striking four times.... But that and any details about what's available to purchase I've no idea of. My understanding is warranty soldiers on as before as I assume are replacements, upgrades might be a different matter. I'd contact them and ask specifics.

I agree, KK seems a reasonable sort, but I wouldn't lend him money.....'least ways not right off.
