Out of the portable vapes I have tried, I have had success using harder hashes with the PAX and the Vapman. The flavour in the Pax is bleh at higher heat. The Vapman is a torch lighter based unit, but can do herbs and hash just fine in my experience. I would assume a Vapor Genie would work as well, but I never owned one.

Persei and Cera are good contenders, but they are higher in price and Puffers already mentioned some of the other issues at the moment which would conflict with your trip.

I usually just use an oil burner with a torch lighter for the hard stuff. Unfortunately, it will make you look like a meth head....but it is fantastic for vaporizing hash and hash oil. You can also look at the Ubie or the Gnome...again, no experience with them on my part.

    Edit: Here are some links:

You use hash in the PAX? I thought everything needs to be packed tight in there? Saw info on the g-pen micro and a knockoff called the cloud. Any thoughts on those?

The pax will work because its a conduction vape but because its conduction taste suffers and depending on the quality I would imagine its fairly messy and high quality full melts I imagine would be a real freaking mess.

Maybe you could find a Thermovape EVO still? Wouldn't that vape hash pretty effectivel?

Yep, I have used it in my Pax with no problems. Tastes not that great, but it does the job. Clean up was easy, I found...just had to wipe down the chamber while warm. You can also scrape the screen off if it hardens.

Softer stuff tastes good, since you can use lower heat. Hard stuff needs the higher setting, hence the poorer taste.

Edit: A good tip is to to dump the oven into your palm, and rub it between your fingers once the vapor starts to lessen. Helps break everything up to vape evenly.

Good to know. I ended up buying a Cloud. It seemed well reviewed over some of the other pen vapes. I think the Cloud/wax combo is what I'm going to try to vacation with. Seems like an inconspicuous was to go. Is full melt bubble hash good in this kind of device? I know this is a novice question, but it full melt bubble hash the the same thing as wax?

FM bubble is not the same as an oil. Bubble has more plant and particulate matter because its mechanically screened and not made using a solvent. Generally a high quality bubble will have 20-30% more impurities then an oil will.

Can you use either in a Cloud? What's the difference between wax and FM bubble?

Your talking about the cloud pen vape I assume and not the desk top vapexhale cloud. Out of curiosity what made you choose the cloud over a DART or an Omi? From what I remember from the cloud thread there was several reports of phantom vapor and some breakages.... Back to wax versus bubble if you check the persei thread there was recently a discussion on this very topic on the last 1 or 2 pages. Basically oil (wax, shatter, honeycomb, nectar, bho, etc) is all extracted using a solvent were the trichs are dissolved into the solvent, were as bubble is produced using various micron screens to collect different grades/ sizes of trichomes.

Not the Vapexhale. Yeah, I know it's not the top dog of the concentrate vapes. I need something pocket sized for travel that can be disposed of (if necessary) without tears. The Cloud seemed to be favored over the Gpen, 710 and others pen sized vapes I looked at. The better ones (Persei/Omicron etc) were larger and far less stealthy even though they probably perform better.

I'll check out the thread you mentioned. So everything you mentioned would work in my Cloud?

Yeah those are designed for oils and waxes. "Pure" concentrates, basically.

I just bought a black trippy stick from Green Door in SF yesterday. I had done a lot of research on various vapor pens but just happened to run into this type and decided to give it a try. I also bought a glass globe attachment which is clear so you can see it. I used strawberry wax and this thing is awesome. Really happy with the experience and would recommend for sure.
