Discontinued The Sublimator

smokum

I am who I am and your approval isn't needed!
Um, your personal low usage pattern is a flaw of the Sublimator? How is that so? Unless you were joking?

yea, i'd say it's ur usage @smokum.
it makes sense that the more you use, the more buildup.
the buildup isn't massive by any means. i have to hit around half a gram within a day for the oil to buildup enough to clump and melt down to the bottom. i am thinking that those with low intake aren't getting enough buildup when runny and are just VERY lightly and repeatedly coating their atomizer stem. it's a theory anyway

ohh most definitely my low usage where my lif long 'pot pussy' status makes me unable to join the likes of all the 'heads' out there :p

Not a flaw of the Sub for sure... was more or less poking at myself while at the same time jumping in a deflection at what I thought was going to turn into a negative bicker preceding my post before a mod jumped in, and why I stated what I did in the end. Believe me, there isnt a sole out there that could dissuade my love for the Sublimator ! Especially when I get to grin at my hard hitter friends going cross-eyed on their 1st try of her :lmao:Just wish they lived closer to feed this machine and produce me some red goodness to try ;)

What is that?

I lost my c-ring that holds the teflon on the atomizer. This is a picture of my replacement ring. I used a paper clip to get another one on there. Works better than the c ring I originally had (lost it down the drain). If anyone has bought the iolite screens with 7 holes, it comes with 3 rings which I think with some pliers should do the same trick as well (no cutting to length necessary, just bend to shape and fit the 'ring' area on atomizer.)

Your UFO is very different from mine. Mine isn't as rounded and goes deeper into the bowl. I'll take some pics for comparison.

Very interesting, can we get official word on why there seems to be two different models and the difference between the two??

Personally I think Shred's UFO would be more functional as it is larger and would retain more heat as well as going deeper into the atomizer chamber.

I also noticed that Shred's UFO seems to be free of discoloration, are they both made of stainless steel? If so, why has one discolored and the other hasnt?

@Vapodudule - did your oil reclaimer come with those keck clips? I got one and they did not? Where do people buy them from? sorry for my ignorance on keck clips.

nice setup!

can you pull the atomizer out of the reclaim adaptor (when its hot) in order to empty the atomizer?

i can't on mine. i bought a 14mm adaptor.

i need an adaptor that has a 14mm joint for the WT, and a 18mm joint where the atomizer goes, with a 18-14 reducer for the atomizer to sit in.

also, a drop down style would be kickass because then i wouldn't burn my hat on my sublimator! i think it would make my WT more stable!

I have an 18mm sub and an 18mm cloud buddy for reclaim. I bought an 18mm to 18mm extender so I could easily take it out of the cloud buddy. So the Sub now gets stuck on the extender, which pulls out easily.

i have this adaptor already, it doesn't work with the atomizer because its too short!

^ thats a good idea. i guess there really is no need for the 14mm adaptor in the end - they all should be 18mm.

with all those adaptors on your WT, is the sub above you head, and how tippy does it make your WT?

is there a discussion about the reclaim adaptor somewhere, other than this thread?

To be honest i can not answer preceisely to all of your questions, It seems that the ufo i have is an old one (i exchanged it with enrico), i torch it severely with a plumber torch (thanks to enrico also). The frequent cook and heating cycle produces effects to the material but i could not describe it now.

To be sure for the sort of material, i would have to run some checimal tests but, now i do not care.

The Atomizer is a bit hard to take off the reclaim buddy (all 14mm) but it can be done, the pb would be different with a electrical sub, more heating, more, weight etc... May be i will go for a expander +reducer solution if it appears to be necessary.

cheers bros

I've been hunting on amazon for all of the little accessories that my heart desires. Unfortunately, my heart gets a little pricey so I'm trying to consolidate my list. I found two cool things that I thought I'd share and see if anyone has had any experience with them.

I found this "vape scrape tool" and wasn't sure if anyone had see one in person? The ends seem a little large to get up in the atomizer but I'm terrible at judging online photos. Has anyone seen this or even better tried to use this with their sub? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...le_5?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A00106282S29V77ECIYKW

I also found some Iolite screens that I hadn't seen on here before. They seem to be pretty well built from the photo. I was going to get these along with the honeycomb version and compare the two. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004K684BC/ref=gno_cart_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Im still hunting for something sturdy that can be used as a lower screen besides the stock sub screens (I lost mine). Also does anyone with an oil slick pad have a preference between the Duo small size or the original size? I was thinking about grabbing both but figured I'd reach out to y'all first.

@Mister G
I don't have a PV reclaimer but I don't believe one is included, i ordered a reducer with my sub when i bought it so it would be more versatile.

On another note, planetvape just emailed me and told me my new apollo is ready to ship.:brow::o:clap::tup::rockon::love::wave:
The warranty replacement was painless honestly. They received my apollo today and let me know the new one was ready today. No complaints here.

i highly recommend the double woven up top and an ultrafine for down below.

duo is for small work at table. large pad is for purging oil

I seem to remember that there were 2 different version of the torch (top) bit of the sub.

one was heavier and would hold the heat longer (the camp fire version) the other was lighter and not really for the campfire, but rather you would use a torch to heat it, and because of the lighter mass it would get up to temp faster.

good eye on someone spotting the difference.

Ya mine takes a good 3min warm up with a plumbers torch. I use mine all day everyday so I'm not sure why mine isn't changing colors as well....

maybe yours is newer or older than the others? I know there was talk about Ti versions coming out. (something I asked back when I first heard of this product)

maybe that's what you've got?

It seems to be the same material as my atty. both have zero discoloration. Only inside the bowl where resin exists. Perhaps vapodudules is the TI? No magnets from my fridge stick to my UFO or atty.
