The discount code never went live today did it @RastaBuddhaTao? I've been trying on and off but it hasn't worked. I had to double check I had the date right, I've lost track of time lately being self isolated lol.

Is there a recommended box mod to use? I just ordered a splinter and need to get the mod as well, but the selection of mods is a little overwhelming...

I’m new to this, but I think it would depend on how you’re going to use it. If just wattage mode then any should do. But if you’re going to use TCR then I’ll let someone else answer that lol.

I like to keep it simple, so I currently run my splinter at 40w and just use it like a Milaana with feathering and draw speed.

using a pico now, but torn between a gen 3 dual and paranormal for a future mod. Dual for size and paranormal for looks. Not sure what I want more yet

I've been recommending the rxg3d for Splinter and Splinter Z use for a while now and it's still my first choice.

The DNA mods are nice and the DNAc mods are the most even roasting when your TC is dialed in. If I wasn't too skeeved out to go to my urban post office I'd consider selling some of mine regardless, partly because I have a bunch and partly because the ergos and simpler interface of standard TC mods is still a winning combo.

I must add that while the rxg3d is still the smallest and best fitting two cell budget TC mod I couldn't be happier with the Wismec Sinuous Ravage that I got last month. It's chunkier and taller than the rxg3d but Red Panda installs easily and performs really well with a V2 or ZV2. The ZV2 pairing is a few centimeters taller than the same mod on an rxg3d but the first hit performance is stellar and the Red Panda menu is cleaner than Frank's Theme on a color DNA.

Just to over explain that last point: with DNAc mods you need to use the up and down buttons to select the temp or wattage field before you can make adjustments. With either of the Wismec mods or even a non-color DNA you can just hit the up and down buttons whenever because there's no middle "enter" button like the DNAc mods use.

Update: I busted out one of my DNAc ZV2 setups and, while it takes more coaxing to heat up, the flavor and vapor quality are indeed better than the same Z on my favorite wismec TC mods. It's reminiscent of the difference between the Splinter and the Z where the one that's a bit slower to get going has the edge. Enough Z talk on the Splinter thread though. That cheap vaping deals site had a two cell DNA250C called the Odin that looked like a good option if you're feeling spendy.

I am trying to setup a splinter Z with a wismec gen3 duo now. I can not seem to find a setting...or figure out if it will go over 5 seconds firing in power mode?

I found the other settings by the various button pushing combo's (this sux compared to the myevic ui), but I could not find where I can have it fire over 5 seconds in power mode.

I have no experience using the rxg3d with stock firmware. I recommend installing one of myevic variants and then using the settings from a screenshot in my prior posts. I'll see if I can find it..

I have sur_myevic on a Wismec P80 which I mostly use with a Splinter custom, and it works fine. I set up TC on it and go back and forth between that and wattage mode. I’m using @bossman ’s settings and they work great. Much appreciated.

Hold up and fire to get to the super secret menu
Then use up button to scroll through the menu pages to the time out page
Press down to select the time out you want
Press fire to exit

As said I'd install sur_myevic or Arctic Fox to get the most out of the mod

Ok...found it.....their wonky menu UI made it hard. If I hold down power and right button....then let go when I see only the logo choice....it goes back to the main screen.

I had to hold both...let go of the power while still holding the right button down to get to next screen in the settings.

I am just holding off on flashing the myevic firmware on it as I am not going to use this mod with a G43.....just yet. lol

Hey @bossman , I had forgotten your username but I got my splinter because of a conversation we had a short while ago. I had to go out of town before I received it and am just now getting it set up.

If price is no concern go for a 250C chip mod, something like the Lost Vape Paranormal DNA250C. https://vaperoyalty.com/product/bla...le/mods-kits/lostvape-paranormal-dna250c-mod/
I didn't purchase from that site but they do seem to be a little harder to track down for some reason. A local vape shop had mine so you may be able to go that route.

Then you need to load the ecigprofile and material file which can be found here https://forum.evolvapor.com/files/file/567-fcshare/
All of this is done through EScribe on your computer. You can also add custom themes and there's a huge collection available https://forum.evolvapor.com/files/category/6-dna-75-color-250-color/
My favorites have been the Doom theme https://forum.evolvapor.com/files/file/692-doom-vape-15/ Pipboy theme https://forum.evolvapor.com/files/file/24-vapeboy-3000/ Rick and Morty theme https://forum.evolvapor.com/files/file/803-rick-morty/ and a Mario theme that I modified.

There is a 3 battery version as well called the Triade but don't confuse it with the sqwonk (sp?) box which is only a two battery version but has the larger foot print for storing juice inside.

Can I just start with the rxg3d and get into flashing firmware and stuff like that after I've messed around with a more basic setup first? Can I use any 50+ Watt mod from a local vape store? I've been looking online and just about everything I decide to buy ends up out of stock. I figure I might need to buy locally until after this situation is over

EDIT:

This was a good link I found: https://vaping360.com/best-vape-mods/dna-mods/
A little down the page it describes what a DNA mod is and why you might want one. Also touches on Escribe.

I highly recommend the Wismec RX gen3 duo! You can use the stock software or flash new ones on there like myevic or artic fox if you want/need.

Thanks for responding everyone! All the sites i've checked are out of the rxg3d, I think it might be the fact that they all ship from warehouses in china and might be having supply issues right now. I'm heading to a local store tomorrow to see what I can find

Rasta can you renew the stock of the WPA in the store? thanks alot ...
@okc0mputer btw just make sure the mod you buy supports Arctic Fox firmware, for auto fire option, almost any mod that supports Arctic Fox will do the job perfectly
