ok, I have seen the light with the TCR sur myevic on the gen3 dual with rbt splinter. I've been riding wattage since I got this thing and prefer TCR mode now that I got it hooked up. Less concentrated hot spot and now am getting abv results similar to sneakypete. Thank you all!

yeah me too. I cant seem to find cruise (is it CALLED cruise?!) but even just TCR is the biz, agreed on your and others results... and I need to extend fire still...

Me three. Maybe it's partly due to bumping to TCR 185 42W but myevic on my gen3 dual is spitting icy fire like a blue-eyed zombie dragon.

At 350° I can finish a rimmed screen in four huge hits with the XL8R. That number doesn't seem to jive with the rapid extraction and dark toasting on each hit but I like the performance so much I'm reluctant to fuck with it.

Need to try adjusting the PID values next.

Can someone please tell me what the firmware options are with a Sinuous P80 (Wisemec)?
Using it with a Splinter V1.
I started reading over in the box mod thread and that's too far into the 'next level' shit for my old brain to process.
And what are the basic distinctions between them?
I see that I would need some kind of software just to manage the firmware change? (I use a Win10 laptop)

These are all the things I really didn't want to know a month ago! Down the rabbit hole I go...or is it 'goes me'? ...'I am going?"
Boy, do I love my early morning sesh...

Or am I just as well off just in VW mode until I can afford DNA? It really works pretty well, but with more than one user it can more easily over-cook, so I'm hoping for a more even, more regulated method.

almost there

you can either install arctic fox or myevic on your mod. AF allows for device monitor when plugged to a computer but doesn't have autofire(cruise). I personally only have experience with dna FW and myevic. If myevic interest you these are the tools you'll need. You should be ready to go in less than 2 mins.

I recommend myevic. I had Arctic Fox on my wismec and since switching to myevic a few days ago I'm seeing better performance. Could easily be my ignorance with the config though. Arctic Fox looks better in Windows and has its own friendly looking suite of tools while myevic is just a bin file you use with the firmware updater from the Wismec site.

I don't have the real understanding of the various settings like many of the savvy folks here but I do know where the settings are and I don't mind adjusting a few things to improve performance.

Since getting my dna250 I'd gotten spoiled to a mod with nothing to adjust but temp. Since installing myevic on the Gen3 Dual I'm impressed with the big hits I'm getting and how quickly my Z gets warmed up on it.

Oh, and @Grifo I should mention that the monster myevic rips are with my Z so far. I'll put the V1 on the Gen3 Dual next and report back. Also I backed it up to TCR 180 last night.

Ultimately I should find settings that offer a range of usable temps. Since I always shoot for big hits its been rewarding to see such massive clouds with no scorching but my abv isn't the most even the way I'm running it now.

Thanks, folks, I'll be trying the myevic in an hour or so.
Still used as a variable wattage device? Or will I want to use temp control?
I believe I definitely want to learn more about autofire!

Is there a major difference between the V1, V2, or the Z? I have the V1 and was wondering if it's worth the upgrade to one of the others.
The difference between v1 & V2 is the V2 hes blackwood and smoked glass stems. Stunning imo. The Z has the Zion heater design, it takes a second or two longer to heat soak but gives a little more of a full hit. I LOVE RBT so I have them all except the V2 but I'll get that next month I think.

I though we did that on Friday :)

To increase the Max puff time - increase the value for Prot in the vaping menu (same page as above) :science:
Youre not wrong, I have the same issues for a ridiculous amount of time, then Im back asking the same shit thrice (hey cut me some slack, I'm getting stoned in and around all these suggestions...) but I can't for the LIFE of me find cruise. Is it labeled different? Am I even on the FW i think I/m on? I thought it was FJ, but (i'm 100%...:\) the link was the one here: https://github.com/pharmaka/tubomyevic/blob/master/README.md.

But nothing called cruise. no afire. I have a PPwr and mode>>?
Is there some kind of Genius Bar?

TC takes a little bit of set up, but cruise/autofire is very easy to implement. Reading through the sur_myevic doc, it seems like you can enable autofire in the vaping menu (AutoFi On) and then set autofire time (ATime) to something long, or infinity. Then if you long press the fire button, you'll get autofire. Set the mod to anywhere between 15W and 19W, and autofire. You get very nice consistent browning, and very easy vaping experience. Just do a medium pull. In general, I already prefer this over the on demand functionality.

Be careful with auto fire set to infinity though. I brought my Z into the dining room and didn't realize it was firing the whole time I was plating my food because I was use to having to double click for cruise with my Tubo X.

Go to menu -> interface -> clicks. Set 2 (or w/e number you want, that's the one I prefer) clicks to cruise.

yeah. no "cruise" under clicks. unless it needs enabling elsewhere first.
I have a "mode>>" i think

EDIT: I MAAAAY have been downloading a mid 2017 version? Ill try again tonight from LAMART \

TCR mode is renamed Tubo on the main screen in tubomyevic - which you can see by clicking the fire button 3 times and cycling through the modes with the up button.

Or you could open the menu and see what it says in Miscs > Version :)

Or cycle through the options in Interface > Clicks - tubomyevic has a few extra choices that sur_myevic doesn't like Cruise, Tstep and warmup2cruise (w2cru I think)

Ryan,

What are the "groove tube" items on the VGoodies site under RBT??

Hope you don't mind me jumping in. They're storage tubes for the screens that can also be used for herb. The idea with the double sided one is that you can pre-pack your screens, put them into the glass tube on one side, and then as you vape one, you put it in the back of the line using the second opening.

Not Ryan, but little stash vials. Either loose ground herb (suck it up stem to hole) or inner diameter also sifficient to stack preloaded basket screens. Maybe 5 in the tube.

In addition to what @BestBuds said, the V2 and ZV1 also use ceramic insulator plates in the heater instead of the mica found in all other RBT products. Functionally it really is the same, so if its a more unique experience or after I would suggest going for the ZV1 over the V2 since you have a V1 already, then you would get the larger Z heater with the ceramic insulators. However you would not be missing anyting to grab a US custom Z instead, and may even prefer it for the wood etc. I have a US Z and V2

Are you running the Tubo firmware on your wismec or just myevic.bin? I went with the latter since I have the Tubo shit on my VTC Dual already. I like myevic on the rx gen3 dual a lot so far and I'm not missing Arctic Fox.

The reason I ask which firmware is because there's no two clicks to cruise in myevic. You can set two, three, or four clicks to do a variety of things but it's a single long press to engage auto fire when it's enabled.

soooo one good thing and one bad thing to talk about regarding my Splinter:

1. i used it the last few days with the cooling Mouthpiece from @VapeFiend.com (not the xl8r) and this is like an I see the light experience.
While i liked the Splinter before, i got a bit inconsitent results from it and the standard mouthpiece makes for really hot Vapor. With the cooling Mouthpiece, i like it MUCH better and almost exclusivly used the Splinter.
Tast is much better, i can take and get bigger hits and the ABV is much more consistent. Love it!

Now i don tknow if i need a xl8r also - anyody who can compare to the mouthpiece i own?

but, this leads to number 2:

this evening, i accidently changed the Mode on my Mod (Releaux RX2 gen3) to TC before useing the Splinter and fired it up for a few seconds like i normaly do for a little heatsoak. I didn t make any settings but i think it was set to 210 C and 230Watt, don t remeber the resistance shown. After that the Splinter had a bad Plastic like smell. It still heats up....

Anybody can tell me what happend?

Thanks in advance and have a great day!

Shit, I dunno. I made the mistake (?) if bookmarking a page to revisit when I was ready. It’s the one I linked above. Paragraph down (or so) is a link, indeed, to mvevic.bin. That’s what I grabbed. And where I’m lost. I’ll likely have to DM someone when I’m in front of it to get sorted (feel free to call “not it!”). In any case, seems an older one. So I’ll start by getting newest first.
