    Hello,
Please have a look at our newest creation:
    http://www.model42.com

A 19" rackmountable vaporizer featuring digital temperature control, glass on glass heating and auto shutoff housed in an aluminum case with a lovely green anodized faceplate.

There is a great video here:

    Any questions are encouraged.
    Thanks!

When you say rack mountable, do you mean like in a standard sata raid setup? Is it possible to get optional face plates that would look like computer equipment?

    Nice video.

It is in a standard 19" rack format. The same as used in pro audio and server racks.

Right now we only offer the one faceplate. I suppose you could swap out a faceplate from a similar piece of equipment and make it even more stealthy, but most often faceplates are custom drilled for the types of controls needed. Ours uses three holes: for the potentiometer, the LED and a larger one for the heating element. There is also quite a few ways 19" enclosures can be designed and not all faceplates mount to the chassis in the same way.

Your question gives me some ideas though!

I just watched the video and I like the size of the glass wand. I couldn't see it up close but is there a screen in there? If not, I guess you would just have to pack it nice and tight.

As far as function, what type of steps forward is this vape taking? What makes your product more innovative or desirable then other whip vapes? thanks.

Every music studio needs this. Wow. Talk about stealth. Awesome idea, and execution. I like how simple it looks as well. No obvious logo to hint at what it could be, either. I'm interested.

I don't have a need for stealth, but this could sit on a room full of law enforcement officers without drawing attention :)

The whip has a dimple in it to keep stuff from coming up the tube and into your mouth. We have toyed with various screens, etc but they have been annoying to deal with. I like the dimple solution & it's fun playing with torches and glass to make them! There is also a retention clip in the collar on the front of the unit. There is a crease in the whip (more fun with torches!) that works with the clip to keep it snug in the heater so you don't have any problems with the thing popping out etc...
    Innovation at work!

I have been a professional audio engineer for 20 years (with two Grammy nominations!) and this vape was developed for me specifically. Enough people were impressed with it @ my studio that we decide to make a few small batches available to other folks.

It is a very small market indeed, but a world that I spend every day in.

Understood. Lots of studios out there. Music, radio, television, film. Small segment of the overall market, but that segment could be quite lucrative.

Best of luck to you. Very innovative product.

Now enough of the nominations. Get a win. (damn, I think I may be a bit too much into the Winter Games....... ;) )

I'm picturing these stacked up on top of each other in coffee shops, a server to feed the hungry vape lungs...

Might not be a bad niche to get into, if more places start popping up (and legal issues clear). Market this to potential cafe owners, build vapes into the walls/tables. Good call.

Also, I immediately thought about picking up a bigger SKB rack case so I could fit this with my portable recording outfit, but typically my ears seem to go if I've vaped and I'm not actually playing the music. Nice that it only takes up one rack, and it could almost seem like you guys could make a multiple attachment one as well, i.e. with more than one whip attached. Throw in a toggle switch for which number of whips heat up, and voila. The perfect band-togetherness vape. :brow:
    Still nifty though.

Would certainly make the really really awful gigs sound "better", or at least, make you not care....coulda used this when I had to run sound for a band made up of 5 banjos at a fiddle contest. :shudders:

    Hi model42 , welcome on fuckcombustion !
can I ask you what type of plastic tubing you are using ?it is so close to the heat when you put the stem in the vaporizer that I thought maybe I have to ask . Also you use the words ''glass on glass'' and as I can see in the video there is no glass on glass ? did you mean all glass element?

Do you mean the tube that is attached to the stem?
It is indeed a glass whip inserted into a glass heater.
You can't see it b/c it's inside the box!

I'm not sure what the difference between "glass on glass" and "all glass element" would be. Seems like different wording for the same thing.
Please let me know if I'm missing something...

The ambient/excess heat from the heater is minimal. It is a very focused, insulated design that keeps only the necessary (very small) area at the proper temperature.
There is no heat above the unit (no where close to that of a tube preamp or similar piece of rack gear).
The end of the whip (stem) that is inserted into the (food grade can't remember the specific details right now) plastic tubing is not hot either. The heating is waaay at the other end of the stem.
I hope that answers your question.

I was just asking cause most of the time when we talk of ''glass on glass'' in the smoking/vaporizing industry we talk about ground joints (male and female ) and as I can see there is no ground joints on your vap so maybe you should say ''all glass vapor path'' or something but that's not a big deal , I was just asking me !thanks for the fast reply

We have decided to keep the price on these at $299 +shipping. This was to be a promo price for February, but response was so much greater at this price point, we decided it is the right way to go.

One potential cause for concern would be loading the wand, when its cool it might be easy to dip (as shown in the video), but what about when its hot? It looks a little skinny to hand-load like normal whip vapes.

Based on that video, I kind of like that whip design. I tend to load stems for PD's in the same way, I just kind of mash them down into a small container of material. But, I also wonder what the temp of the glass stem is after use.
