guess its no longer on amazon. thinking of buying it off puffitup like i did last time, or buy one off the classifieds that includes a pa, wpa, and some extra batteries for $150.

puffitup has great deals and the box would be brand new

if i got if off here, it would include the pa which i have heard great things of, and some extra goodies. but it would also be used and can always run the risk of getting ripped off(no hard feelings to the seller)

They look like the 2 free cases PIU sent me when I received my Solo .
    They're about 1 1/2 inch in diameter .
I can get 1 gram of fine grind ,
1 1/2 gram of extra fine grind drier herb .

I use a similar one to that, it's an old lip balm container. It holds about a weeks worth of very fine grind at two sessions a day, so roughly fourteen trenches.

it feels like my batteries are fading...they seem like if i charge them full now and ait to use them tomorrow like they lose theyr power...so they are either dying or its not good to leave them charged with the caps on just standing on the table...

Hello, I recently went through the warranty procedure for a box and I can't express how impressed I am with this company. Put in the claim last Sunday, they contacted me Monday, yadda yadda yadda receive replacement box Saturday. Back up and flying. New box is working so much better than what I had been using, and the new click lock or whatever you call it is brilliant! No longer am I obsessively reaching for a rubber band to ensure I don't spill my load.

I am curious about the WPA but I lack a water pipe. I don't know if it is acceptable to ask so I'll ask do any of the sponsored sites here offer a suitable water pipe for the WPA? I might treat myself to a walnut collection of MF products. They're so classy looking.

    I love you Magic Flight

What is it about the water pipe adapter that you want if you don't have a water pipe? If it's the whip, Magic Flight sells those on their website. I believe they come in 1, 2, and 3 foot segments, and they come with two "shorty" stems. The WPA is simply a very easy way to get your LB to run with water filtration.

Hope that box comes with the logo batteries. They're a treat.

My batteries seemed to be doing this. So I ran them through a Refresh cycle on my Maha/Powerex C-9000 charger. Then they were working good as new! Best charger hands down, but not as easy as popping them in and waiting, but also not nearly as compicated as I originally thought when I first received it(I was thinking, upon first looking at the charger and instructions -"I am never going to figure this out..." But now I pop them in, push a few buttons and then im done, just to play the waiting game. It can also discharge them, which I always do before recharging :)

I don't think that's at all realistic, do you? They have officially told us they are in very short supply (not available for purchase yet, only available with custom wood boxes). Giving them out with free warranty replacement boxes would be encouraging a bunch of very expensive (for them) 'white lies' wouldn't it?

AFAIK replacement boxes are just that, replacement boxes. No extra free batteries (of any type), chargers, tins and so on.

Can't be 'encouraging a good boy to do bad' now can we?

how much of a difference does the pa actually make? what other vapes, in terms of vapor production, would you compare it to?

Yes sir, and if you note on their site, the Walnut Box is listed as a premium wood unit, with retail price of $149.00. I may have been a little tipsy last night, but I figured he'd get the premium kit with the same batteries I have. Unless you mean custom to be something other than just the premium wood? Do you mean the laser-etched ones to be custom?

Careful. Best go read it again? As I read it he got a replacement box (for an old standart 'no latch' box).

He said "I might treat myself to a walnut collection of MF products" which I took to mean he's considering getting one???

I can't compare it to other vapes but I will say you're still using an MFLB, so you control the vapor production in the same method. With draw rate and temperature. What is most notable IMO about the PA is that you can set the temperature at your preference. I prefer a lower temp than a full charged battery will give, I can achieve this with the PA, same vice versa.

Aha! I see what you mean now. I didn't realize that Magic-Flight started making the Finishing Grinder and WPA in walnut as well! I was under the impression that only the Boxes were being made with exotic woods. There's my confusion  :science:

Well, the fact that you can control the power going to it certainly helps. Vapor production from the LB depends on a good grind consistency, proper moisture levels of the material, serviceable draw technique, and a steady source of power. The first is easy, grind it as fine as you can. The second as well, I find that dry material vaporizes better than moist/"just off the nug" stuff. Less water to vaporize = more goodies in the vapor = more fun with less. Technique is personal so I won't expand much on it other than "if you're getting good vapor and making it progress in color from green to dark brown and not blackening/charring your stuff, you're probably doing it right." Which brings us to the last one. Power. This tends to be the limiting factor after you really understand how to use the box. That's not to say that I don't like the batteries or that there's something wrong with using them, because they're great. It's just, they don't allow you the ability to experiment more with your box and your strain on hand. I can pop in the power adapter and key the power really low, so low that barely any visible vapor is created. Inhale slowly, get a feel for what the strain tastes like. Lung-full of the terpenes/flavinoids of the goods. Turn it up so high that it would char in about 3 seconds if I didn't inhale. I like it because when I get sativas, I can set the power to around 35-40% and get a good selection of THC, and when I get indicas I'll go higher to get those CBD's out of it. It's a bit harder to do that as precisely with batteries. You can inhale faster to drop the temperature, but that's not going to be as accurate as having the power source topping out at that specific range.

The other good thing going for it is the fact that it has its own lifetime warranty, same as the box. For $65 after taxes and shipping, I'd totally buy it again if I lost it. Don't forget about the batteries, though! I relied on my PA for so long that I neglected my batteries for a while... until the power went out one night! I thought "shit the power's out and i can't use my OH MAN WHERE ARE THE BATTERIES?!" And sure enough, they were plugged into the charger on the wall. One battery was enough for the rest of the night as the power came back on two hours later.

    My goodness do I ramble.

i understand the use of the launchbox(i used to have one), and vaping in general.
i didn't really think of the extend to which you could control your session with the pa. ever since i looked in to it, it is grabbing my attention more and more. i honestly didnt even know you could control the voltage of it. It could easily be useful on car rides if i get the car adapter thing for it.

i am thinking i will grab a new box off piu, then a bit later get a pa because it is quite an investment, being 1/2 of the cost of the box itself.

thanks for your help, pretty much just influenced me to pick one up when i get a chance!

Yes, it has a scroll wheel that you use for power. Here's some pics of mine.

I used both MFLB and PAX and I have decided to go back to using the MFLB as my main unit and having my PAX as a backup (or when I have newb friends around)

I just ordered a Cherry Premium MFLB (gotta get those new batteries :D) over the weekend and gifted my old MFLB to my friend. Now I wait for the shipped email to get to me so I can eagerly refresh the tracking page until it gets here (strange that I haven't received that email yet)

that is actually quite interesting(and aesthetically pleasing as well!)
so i take it that if you accidentally set it very high, it is easier to combust

my mind is quite blown at the versatility that this adds.

Yes. The light indicator inside my box was brighter with the Power Adapter at full power, as opposed to a Powerex 2700 battery fully charged. It gives you a very nice range IMO. It even ventures into the "too hot for anyone but experts" range down to so little power nothing really happens. Like I said, it's an investment for sure, but I wouldn't think twice about it if it came down to it.

I do agree that I like how it looks as well. My only gripe is a silly one, but the cable from the box to the battery adapter piece is stiff. Stiff enough to move the "power house" wooden piece around on a table. I wish it were a bit more flexible, and the power house a bit heavier. I could probably add some small weights to the bottom of it and remedy the situation, but this is really just a personal thing that I noticed and doesn't in any way take away from its raw performance.

Finally got the pic of the awesome wood grain:

My friend's box's light gets noticeably brighter than mine. At first I thought it was just more reflected light due to the lighter wood tone, then I thought it was the batteries, but after using his box with my PA I can confirm that his runs way brighter than mine, and I assume the temperature of the screen is correspondingly hotter. I wonder how much will change with the breaking-in process, but I don't recall my box ever running quite that bright. Not that I particularly mind, I usually run my power adapter at lower settings anyways...

The best news for me is that my power adapter fits better in his box and my batteries still fit it as well. Now to just look at making my ring adjustment.

I'll cast another proverbial vote for some extra heft to the "power house", or "nuclear reactor" as I sometimes refer to it…
