The Lotus Vaporizer

I think you missed this question...

How do you like the second one on the bottom row? I have been thinking about getting it, but I notice it is not on your "most used" list. I have been looking for a good 90° angle torch.

I DO have the pistol grip one on order, but it has been a long time and I may not receive it.

You inspired me earlier to play and my current lotus setup is a tree perc ash-catcher attached to my j-hook.
Sound like the perfect set up!
Do you have a photo of your set up?

The ones on the bottom are not used with the LOTUS or DABBING.
More for low flame activities.
The top ones are for medical use.
The bottom ones don't work with the LOTUS. (in my case)
Hope you get the one you ordered?
Mine too 6 weeks!
Glad I waited!

@jambandphan03 has an imagination and @Frederick McGuire
@Snappo has something up his sleeve I bet!
@Ratchett and a few other are thinking?

Have an order in for a few glass adapters and should keep me lego happy for a bit.
Also, finally found one of the sellers on DHGate that ships to Canada free. So have a D 020 comin in.... The 18/14 adapter is with the other glass I ordered.
All the seller links I found here had crazy shipping costs to Canada.
Finding glass can be fun as well as tasty.:D

after concerns about bad technique i was worried i had damaged my lotus vapor cap. sent it back to mendocino theraputics and the customer service was like nothing else. they emailed me as soon as they picked it up, again once they first looked at it, and once again after they had inspected it and come to a conclusion.

having no lotus for a while made me realize how perfect this vape is for me again! i will celebrate with what i call the "Lotus Special"!!!

You kill 6 bowls in a row in rapid succession and then get higher and higher for the next 2 hours.

^^^ wow, I didn't quite realise just how small the D020 is... :o the Lotus cap for scale gives me a good comparison now.

Looks nice though...

In my opinion the D020 puts the cap too close to my face for comfort. I also REALLY hate ABV blowback into the lotus (afraid of ruining the taste of the cap)

I ordered a custom angled 15 degree 18mm male to 14mm female adapter from Oregon Glass to angle the Lotus away from my face and so I could get a grip on the adapter and use as a carb to prevent blowback.

Looking to buy this ash catcher soon to pair with the J-Hook. I think that will be a perfect match:

Only complaint is that I'm a lefty and would like the female joint on the other side, but it's chinese glass. For $23, it's worth it

I got the other vortex-looking one, it looks great with the j-hook. I'm not enamored with its performance with the lotus though, so I'm looking forward to your impressions.
I went back to my old ssv bubbler, perfect for the lotus

Everyone will have their own preferences about the distance to the face, the way I use it I feel no heat on my face and it's super easy to see exactly where to point the flame. I will also mention it's the most even browning I've gotten from any glass piece...probably because it's small enough to where I'm not tempted to draw out a rip for too long.

I missed my lotus so much. It truly is my new favorite vape. Also the grenade style $3 torch from amazon is definitely far more reliable than a t38...
I find the T38 to work well however it consumes a lot of Butane.

The LOTUS is very powerful.
My temptation to use it during the day is over helming. At night it will put me out! No electronics to deal with! It's not my driver however I use it often!

What's wrong with the T38? Is the flame too short? Mine works like a champ - starts every time, never sputters out

It's sputtery a lot and has a tendency to keep burning for a second after I let go of the switch

@ataxian Like you the urge to use the lotus during the day is very strong. It is already a daily driver in my opinion! And it is my favorite for pre-bed sessions too.

Yes, exactly what mine does. And at times it would not turn off unless I flicked the switch again. Still very usable as a back up.
My new Jobon is a way better and lasts a long time between fill ups and doesn't get overly hot from extended on times. This is a big problem IMO to how a lighter performs after a couple weeks of action. Plastic parts tend to stop clicking and engaging properly after subjected to prolonged near melting temperatures. At least that's my theory as have gone throw many lighters in my day.

Both my honest and my t-38 do crap like that, I thought it was normal.
Much of the spuddering is do to the gas quality, but IMO, cutting out or staying on has more to do with the lighter mechanism. In our use it needs to be able to take the heat when long on times are the norm. A good controllable and reliable flame is just as important for this type vaporiser as the vape itself. So $10-20 bucks for a lighter is well worth it.

To anyone having sputtering issues with their lighter, that's usually due to air bubbles in the gas chamber. Bleed the lighter dry before you refill next. Once the tank is bone dry (as you can get it) refill all the way with a great quality butane...I use vector and love it. All my lighters perform flawlessly.

The Firefly hits very hard... The Lotus hits like Hulk! :D I love them both but Lotus is the one that ruled them all!
The LOTUS hit's very hard and it's my feel like a joint device while staying healthier.
I had to get rid of a few vaporizer that were nice vaporizers just took up unnecessary space.
The SOLO that you hate works amazing for me.
The lower temperature has the perfect medicating effect for me.
If I was looking for a recreational gizmo the FIREFLY might be handy.
If I want a self-induced COMA a LOTUS is the most practical.
If FLAVOR CHASING is the GOAL the NANO blows them away.
The VAP 2 is way too cheap to fulfill ones EGO however the FLAVOR is pretty unmatched!

We all have different needs.

Depends if your needs are RECREATIONAL or MEDICAL?

This is were the disconnect is!

Vaporizers are just heating devices to extract the medicine.

ELECTRICITY BATTERY FLAME they all do the same!

The LOTUS fills a need for sure.

PERCEPTIVE!

You were saying the same story before you get the Lotus.... :D
The Firefly kicks Solo's ass anytime and is very similar to the Lotus in many ways! ;)

Nice flower by the way!!

I agree with you however for my medical condition the SOLO is my driver. The LOTUS I love and use more often than you can imagination. The FIREFLY is most likely a very good vape however I have devices that work great already. Single plant growing COLAS as big as possible are more enjoyable for me personally.
You of all people being a @natural farmer should know what I'm talking about. Over a POUND per plant is the objective. The photo of the COLA was a small one.

Whatever you like is cool!

My only real problem with the Jobon is that it won't work when it is cold like the Honest will. The Honest will work at temperatures at which I would have to put the Jobon in my pocket for 10min to warm it up.

Adjustment is certainly easier on the Jobon, although I don't have any problem adjusting the Honest with my thumb nail.

Okay reading through here I noticed a few comments regarding the Lotus being close to feeling like a joint. I never really paid much attention to this vape because I am usually looking at electrics but my mom for medical reasons instead of taking all those crazy pills and I think she might like it. She is old fashioned and prefers joints and doesn't like waiting for my vaporizer to heat up but I don't want her burning. The instant pain relief and untethered capabilities seem really neat with this. Although maybe I should just get her a Solo or something instead. Good or bad idea on a Lotus for a daily driver?
