I'm tempted to order the new Ff2 but can't quite bring myself to do that just yet.

It would be awfully nice if instead of an FF1 warranty repair they offered a discount on a new FF2. It would make sense for marketing, although wouldn't do them a lot of good financially."

Only thing is the old one came with a 5 year warranty the new one 2. So if your ff brakes in a year and they upgrade you to a ff2 then you only have 3 years warranty but you bought 5 with the ff.

That would, presumably, be their motive for providing a discount on the new unit - a percentage fewer warranty repairs. But the economics aren't quite balanced. They can refurbish/replace lots of FF1s for less than the profit they'd lose from selling FF2s at a discount, most likely. Perhaps after sales of FF2s peak.

@mitchgo61 : sorry to bother you, but where can I find the FF support hot line or live chat?
Their email support system must be clogged with people having FF2 problems. I sent a request for RMA (for my FF OG) on Friday, got an answer back with a case number, answered their questions and sent photographs. I have heard nothing since. Where is that legendary customer support?

Side note: I'm seeing increasing number of frustrated posts over on the FF2 thread regarding CS. They must be swamped.

I guess there aren't very many ppl hanging in this thread now that FF2 is out. FWIW, I just got my repaired device back from FF. After one single bowl, I can report that my ABV is darker and my fully charged 770 mha battery was drained. Me thinks it is running hotter and perhaps drawing more juice than before. More experimentation is in order!

Good to hear!

Yeah it's a ghost town here now. Lot of activity in the 2 thread, but that's not always a good thing either. :p I do think FF customer service is swamped. Hope things calm down for them soon.

Well, being as it's so quiet...

It was July last year that I got my FF and I’d just like to say that I remain really happy with it. I was still combusting up until that time - though I gave up tobacco 25 years ago. The FF was my daily driver until early this year when I got an Underdog and a bubbler. I still use the FF several time a week. It comes along when I’m out walking, popping round to see friends or on any days out. It’s not the stealthiest portable out there but I feel completely uninhibited about using it in, say, a pub beer garden. I own very few things that work really well and look just great but the FF provides cool vape on demand and terrific flavour. Its heft lends it a quiet sense of authority whilst its art deco aesthetic raises it above the merely utilitarian. I’m also comfortably reassured by the remaining 4 years of warranty. Would I swap my FF1 for a 2? No. I’m sure that the 2 is a fine machine but the original is a true design classic and it’s mine for at least another 4 years!

Merely speaking from personal experience. A shatter on a warm day can turn to oil, or wax up, and oil is often used as a catch all term. If using a concentrate pad it should all be the same although hash and stuff with high plant matter content should not be used on a liquid pad. FF gets dirty quick with either
You know more about the FIRE FLY than anyone else?

What size wrench do I need to work on it?

I love the taste however the button doesn't work?
It's out of warrenty so I will fix it myself!

But yeah the taste is really nice!

Can you help me or should I go to the store and figure it out!

I will make it work again!

I managed to get some pretty dark (nearly black) ABV when I slowed down my draw enough! This thing can bake herbs really nice! As well as my head! :p

I find the Lotus to hit harder and stronger for the moment. It's heat retention and hot air production cannot easily be matched by a portable. :2c: Firefly has already a place in my heart though!

Get some Firefly porn while I take a few more hits! :p :D

Are you a COLLECTOR?

I can't keep up with you?

OK @jim-bob I stand corrected!

I will go to the store and figure out what wrench I need?

60's and 70's cannabis people were cool?
What happened?
Everyone want's to cage fight these dayz?
@mitchgo61 do you know?
Whoa man! I think you might've read me wrong! I'm just trying to save you the hassle of fucking with that temperamental coil placement when you can just send it in and let one of their dudes deal with it.

I spend enough time fixing fiddly shit at work, I don't need it intruding on my life.

If there are cats in the cage, I'm happy to go hang out with them?

The link to the post is right, at least for the FF1...both Torx 5 and 6 bits are required. It appears you only need the T6 for the FF2. The screws are under the battery plate. Be careful out there. :p

You are my IDOL!

I still use a SOLO NANO EVO.

I have a bunch of them because I was trying to keep up with you.

I tried to salvage my FIRE FLY 1 but the switch broke. (somebody ripped me off)
Buying direct is the way to go! Or decent online vaporizer store? (authorized)
I know better? (sucker)

The Firefly I gave to my brother stopped working on them, trying to get warranty going and the service seems to be a far cry from what it was before the FF2... The response time is pretty pathetic, such a shame since it was such incredible CS for me the first 4(!) times...

So I got off the phone with firefly customer service. I had sent my unit in a little over a month ago because the coil went bad. It's barely been 18 months since I purchased from them directly. They put me on a list that's waiting for new coils that could come in around 8 weeks. Ugh, so it'll easily be 3 months that I'm without my FF.

I don't know how to feel, it seems they're stringing me along and expect me to upgrade for the $100 bucks. I'm torn on what to do and almost debated buying the FF2 while waiting, but hate the 2 year warranty with it. I'm tempted to buy another companies vape to branch out
