I finally took the entire unit apart, breaking a few thing in the process. The heat is generated from a single "filament wire" wrapped around the heating coil. The wire had broken, so everything worked but no heat. I twisted the wire together, put it back together (as best i could) and now it works. Would i use it? No way... Arizer offered a good deal on a replacement, so i bought another one and now have many spare parts.
