The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Hey everyone, so I just got my Extreme Q yesterday and I'm loving the heck out of this thing! I'm new to vaping, I've been getting great results because of all you guys here on FC (Big Thanks ) but my question is how does my abv look? Does it look like I'm extracting everything? Thanks for the help.

Also MrMonss love the pacifier idea to block the crumbs!! Definitely gonna steal that idea! Lol:brow:. It doesn't get to hot and stink or anything?

it could be darker. What temp setting are you using?

After @kellya86 explained that heat soaking concept to me, I'm getting quite fond of this machine. It's less of a kerfuffle than DeVerdamper, and it looks so less methlabby, and the elbow viping is just perfectly my tiny little dose in two, three nice little hits. I bought a silicone tube which is way more flexible than the original one and the mouthpiece/bong-connector is a 14 mm male/male adapter. Nice-o. I can close the dome screens with a 12 mm screen (remember the combusting AmaZed one-hitter?) so I can spike my herbs with a little old fashioned dusty skuff. Or just have them lying around for that extra easy evening. Or pack a really small one-hitter. Nice-o indeed. I should give things more time before judging. This one's a keeper.

I was initially unimpressed with the EQ, but as I gradually acquired different connectors and accessories, I began to experiment. I wanted to see how far I could push it. So I replaced the glass elbow with a silver surfer wand, along with the tubing, and connected it to a bubbler. I also cobbled together a valve for bags using a camel bak. Lately, I've been using an 18mm M/M adapter to connect a Chinese knockoff Hydratube. It's no EVO, but it's not bad.

It works great, but it's not my usual setup with the Q. The Idea here was not blocking the crumbs but to fit the 18 male adapter with no airflow on the FocusVape hydratube directly on the E.Q., works great also because it's versatile as you can see..
Have a nice day

Yop,

I do not have the Ddave mod either, but I made my own mod with the WormHole Bowl and some Dhgate's Waterpipe 19mm straight adapter in place of the original elbow.
Work great. I was considering bying the DDave mod first but the shipping costs were too high (I live in Europe, i miss my chance bying one when i was in Quebec Canada) that i was looking for something else in the same idea but sheaper finaly..
This little thing instead of the elbow is great improvement in itself..

That is what I was looking for in a while to pair with my EQ. Does the stock silicon whip fit on the 18mm version? I already own a shorter cyclone bowl, am only missing this wand.

Yes, i do own the stock whip and it fits perfectly (if EU/US/CAN stock whip is the same, but i think that), the Dhgate seller was "driptips", also as mentionned by @stonebob you can consider the SSV wand, which i've consider to, but the Waterpipe adapter solution is also much cheaper for me than an all SSV wand option.

Have a nice day !!

Thanks to both, I knew about the SSV wand, but would give the dhgate adapter a try before investing on the SSV kit.

As far as the ABV is concerned maybe let the effect or amount of expelled vapor be your guide, JBO. Regardless, you can make some nice edibles with it thus getting your money's worth.

Very simple to use! I'm blasting some lavender around the room now which is nice :)

The only thing I don't know what's the function of is this 30ish degree glass piece. I connect it to the "cyclone bowl" but what can I connect it to thereafter?

^ Actually right now I have lavender in the bowl with the elbow attached and turn the fan on F1 for a few seconds then back off...seems to do the trick. BUT I am thinking that there is some other more practical use for the elbow.

Also, I know this is likely covered in the 400+ pages behind me, but to save myself time I'll ask it again.

a) What's the lowest functional temperature to vape at? I don't care about total extraction...I prefer flavor first.

b) Do you guys do a grind at all or just use the glass spear to break down as you go through an individual bud?

As far as use of the elbow, check out the Q instruction book, this thread and possibly youtube. I had one crack on me, btw.
You really would want to experiment with the Q and see what lowest temp you feel effects. Every temp chart I've seen for vaporizing deals with the effect and activation of certain Cannabinoids not the quality of harshness/taste so I can't really answer you the way you may want someone to. As far as putting in flower whole or ground again, that would be up to you how you want to consume as either way would work as long as the flower was small enough to fit in the bowl. I pretty much stick around 375 - 380ish and grind flowers with my fingers, not proper some might say. Regardless, whatever works for you and your Q. Boop dee doo.
Lavender, eh?

I usually grind my buds with a grinder card, as this increases the surface exposed to the heat.
The lowest temps where I usually get the most of flavour is 160C, on that setting a bowl last very long.

Luckily it was just the glass heater cover, however at the time I was totally unaware of how easy to fix this was and I actually thought it was attached to the heating element, fortunately the Arizer CS team helped me out faster than I could ever have imagined and guided me right.

I've had this EQ for around 7 years (it was a warranty replacement) and had no issues with it at all, maybe it is just down to wear and tear as I am very gentle with all my personal stuff however I do gently twist the dishes off when removing from the EQ and when I turned the pot pourri dish I could hear a horrible grinding so maybe the glass had eroded or cracked?

My machine is all fixed now, the heater cover only cost £8 so I bought a spare too :)
I had the heater cover break on me once a couple of years ago. I had the part in reserve, but could not find it when needed. So I took a M-M adaptor that came with a D020 bubbler and used that instead. It is still in my EQ. Very sturdy compared to the thin glass on the stock heater cover. I have knocked the unit over several times, this replacement part does not break easily.

I'm glad it's working for you. I was surprised you didn't think it was good for solo users. To me (with Ddave's mods) it works better than my logs solo.
Soooo... I got me one of these DDave Mods (thru some super nice british guy on Ebay) and wow... thats quite an improvement. The elbow doesn't even need a heat soak to produce a nice big cloud when I insert it into the mod. Made it my favorite in-the-evening device for the occasional instant action 100 mg two-hitters. Pretty much exactly like I used my Grasshopper, only drama free and without batteries. And of course it's stationary which isn't even such a bad thing though, as I normally use it always at the same place, and I got devices I rather use when I'm anywhere else at home.

Must say, I bought the EQ mainly because I found it so cheap on eBay, but it turns out to be the backbone of my home vaping scenario. Really amazing!

While possibly rupturing most of the glandular heads in my opinion.???
I don't get on with the cards...

Never thought about it, but i feel it gets me higher with less amount grinding with the card. Maybe is just my thought...
When i use a grinder i usually do it upside down to get the finest grind possible, so i believe it is exactly the same as using the card.

Stopped in to show some love for the q - I've been enjoying this thing since 2010 and still haven't found a vape to replace it. This isn't my first q, and I wouldn't hesitate to replace it again if I had to.

Running it through water in 2014 was a nice improvement and still using the stock bowl for larger loads. Pairs fantastically with my hydratubes and love the fan for easy draws.

Fire in the hole!
