The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Instead of putting herb into the cyclone bowl, pack it into the basket screen in the elbow joint. Pack it in there densely. Insert it into the cyclone bowl as normal. Turn on to your desired heat setting and let it sit for five or even ten minutes. Hit away....you will get bong-sized hits so prepare yourself!

Personally this is the only way I use the V Tower....the cyclone bowl doesn't work great for me.

I am not a huge fan of the elbow pack , I think I like the DDave mod better and packing in there. Never had a problem getting huge rips. Also are you still using the stock tubing that came with your eq , I think you should try some better tubing , you'll see a huge difference in taste and flexibility.

Hey guys, first time poster here.

I got my Extreme Q a few days ago (my first vape ever) and im happy so far, but i already managed to destroy the elbow for the whip.
I was looking for a more sturdy alternative and found the DDave mod/ssv wand solution here.
It looks quite good but i have a few questions ( sorry if they were answered already, i tried to read through the last post but
i couldnt read all 300 pages ;) )
First of all is this thttp://namastevapesgermany.com/collections/7th-floor-accessories/products/7thfloorgroundglassset
the rigth wand ?
Is the 7th floor stock tubing good or shoul i rather order a single wand and tubing on ebay ?
My second question is does the wand work with the cyclone bowl from arizer ?
I cant find the 18mm f/f adapter from german (or european) sellers and shipping from american ebay sellers could take a while and id like to use the ssv wand in the meantime.

Thanks in advance !

Hey, he asked how to do an elbow pack so I showed him. It may not be for everyone, but I was just trying to help the guy out.

As for tubing...I've had my VTE for years, and used up all the stock. Not sure what I have here, but it's fine in taste etc. (When I'm looking for taste, I use one of my FFs. When I want AC-powered bong-size rips, I break out the VTE...and I don't really have any problems with its flavor as it is.)

I just got my Extreme Q two days ago & used it a few times. I was kind of disappointed because I was using more herb compare to the Solo & my purpose of a vaporizer is to conserve as much as possible. The Extreme Q has quite a big bowl for personal use. Does anyone have any suggestion on this? Maybe there's a trick or smaller third party bowl I can buy? Would love to see a few pictures of how you guys pack your bowls.

howdy. i had always read about people saying they vaped less than they smoked. using 2 different whip type vapes, i found that i was using more weed per day (to pack the bowl), to get the same high from smoking joints. then i found the bag.

i'm not sure if this fits your situation but in trying to make my pot last longer i found that 1/10 of a gram in the cyclone bowl makes one good bag of vapor.

i know some here will vape the abv but i only hit the pot once. i'm assuming that one good bag full from 1/10th is good. i rarely do 2 bags back to back. too stoney.

i wrote this a few days ago, back a couple of pages.

"i started putting around 1/10 of a gram into the cyclone bowl for one good bag of vapor. i use 1/4 tsp spoon to measure it. i have a bunch of bud and coconut cannabis oil but i want it to last me a long time and i wanted to see how little i could put into the bowl and get high.

i found that .07 to .08 of a gram (got to love a digital scale :)) gets me one nice bag that gets me as high as i want to be. i was surprised that so little will give 1 nice light cloud of vapor (not that you need to see the vapor to get high) at 375 to 385 degrees. i use the chicken cooking sized bags.

if you don't have a lot of pot, try it. if you have decent pot, i think you'll be surprised at how little you need to get a nice buzz."

after smoking joints and doing bongs for 45 years or so, at first i found the high to be lighter than i was used to. i started vaping using the bag just below 200 c and started feeling that old high i loved. after about a week, i started lowering the temp and now i love the "cleaner" high from vaping.

i also found that all pot is creeper pot when i vape. i'm high right after i use a bagful, but at about 10 to 15 minutes, i'm really high. might just be me. i dunno. :)

But I like it!
I've just started using the EQ again after a few months away from it. Puffing on the EQ goes through way more herb than any other vape I've used, which I didn't realize until I'd tried more - but it's a great option for a newbie as they are just so darn simple. But the bag option is much easier on your supply.

I do think the cyclone bowl is less conservative than using the elbow pack. The other day one elbow pack kept me happy for an entire afternoon. Pretty impressive for something that puts out huge clouds.

Thanks so much for that pic! How long would you say a fully packed elbow lasts you? Do you use it with or without the fan on? What temperature do you use?

I'm using the regular V Tower, not the "Q" version, so mine doesn't have the fan/bag setup. It's a straight whip convection thing. So it may not be apples to oranges for you. However:

I get maybe 20 or so hits from a well-packed elbow bowl. The first six or seven can be huge if you pull long enough. I set the temp at 190C for the early hits...pack the elbow screen, put it on the cyclone bowl, and leave it for ten minutes or so to warm it up. By the end I have the temps up to 215 or even 220 if I'm trying to extract the final bits. As I said above I can nurse one elbow bowl all afternoon, and we're probably only talking about .1 grams or so.

Ive been hooked on my solo but im about to go back to the EQ for today. At first i didnt love elbow packs but after alot of testing i think they are the best way to go...near the end of the session i blow the weed out of the elbow and into the cyclone bowl just to make sure all the bud gets vaped...

Sillicone tube with a 18mm to 14mm male adapter on the end so it can fit any glass peice i have! The airflow is way better than the solo so i can really milk the bubbler at my own pace

It absolutely does! It does so fantastically!

Once I implemented a Water Tool, I never used the Q dry again!

Hey Ddave, I heard a lot about your mods & wanted to get some advice from you. I'm very new with the EQ just had it for literally 4 days now. Everything is stock & I'm just not happy with how much material I have to use & how fast it gets used up compare to the Solo. Someone told me that you have the best method to conserve herbs with your mod. I'm planning on getting the SSV ward but is that all I need or would I require another piece also? What is exactly the Ddave adapter? I'm confused about that. Everyone here are such pros using short terms, I'm still catching up to all that lol...

Yup a 18mm female to female adapter will fit on the EQ perfectly...all you need is a screen the EXACT same size as a US quarter. It will let your herbs sit closer to the heat. 100p makes the EQ experience better...

So all I need is the 18mm female to female adapter with SSV wand and a screen? Where do I find the screen? Does anyone have a example or a eBay link? I'm not sure if I want to put in more money into this EQ or just simply return it. I wonder if I can return it once I used it? Yesterday I was trying to get the hose off the stock elbow & it just snapped. I didn't even bend it or nothing just was trying to pull it out straight in the most gentle manner & that thing just snapped. Good thing I have that infamous $40 bubbler from Pipesdaddy & I'm currently using that one.

Hi @$un , As Tweak and Ifeejulah Vapor said in response, the DDave Adapter is an 18mm F/F adapter, as seen in this link.... http://www.ioffer.com/i/19mm-female-19mm-female-adapter-536883418

Then a ground glass SSV Wand and a screen the size of a US Quarter coin...

Hey Ddave, Thanks for that advice. But the link you provided says a 19mm adapter? Where can I find a screen size of a US quarter? And what do I do with the screen? Do I put it in the SSV then pack it? Would be really cool if you can make videos of your mods.

Will this adapter work? I found it on eBay.

Hi!
I notice with my EQ i have to put in 150c to taste the herb for 5-6 flavor hits and light vapor later, after taste and flavoring the herb i go up 10c more and like this, if i don't put at 150c, if i put like 180-190 from start i found like i can't taste the herb and i taste mostly toasted , just 1-2 hits with little flavor, i don't know why ? With my solo i don't have this same flavor and taste, why? I know are not the same vapes but im doing something wrong with the EQ??? I have silicone whip and stock whip and i can taste some plastic flavor in both , is about this cause i bought the silicone one be cause the people said the stock whip had some taste...may it's me?? With the bags i tried but i feel like is bit toasted too?
Normaly im doing elbow pack but with the cyclone not the ddave adapter.
I have to ask you @DDave , can you tell me if this piece is correct ? http://m.ebay.com/itm/121476515486?_mwBanner=1
I took from this thread and i have ordered 2 just 2 days ago..., waiting for the shippment.
Thanks!

@$un No problem...

The 19mm adapter was reported to me by another as being 18mm... Not sure if anyone on FC has purchased this particular adapter.

The quarter sized screen goes in the middle of the F/F adapter, on the ledge that can be seen there. Then, if you wish to have a Cyclone Bowl type session, you can load your herbs there. I prefer the double enclosed SSV wand, so for me the screen sits there to catch any particles that drop out of the wand towards the heater. It's kind of optional if you use the Wand.

The screen I picked up at a local shop, as I was unsure of the size initially, so I brought the adapter with me.

Take a look at postings after the one listed below and you'll see pictorial contributions from myself and other FC members that detail use of the mod.

That looks like the adapter and if you will be using the SSV Wand with double screens enclosing the herbs, pretty much any F/F adapter will work. (Some of them do not have a ledge to accommodate the screen in the center.)
Thanks for the link! Updated in my signature.... :)

Anyone have experience with replacing the heating element themselves? I cannot find that part anywhere online, only the glass sleeve that goes around it.

Arizer is not honoring the lifetime warranty of the heating element, despite what they say on their website. They're claiming "no one has ever contacted them about the ceramic heating element cracking or deteriorating with regular use" and essential implied that I am lying. I've had my unit for over 4 years and use it daily, which would lead to major wear and tear on ceramic pieces. I took apart the the unit and sure enough the ceramic heating element has multiple cracks.
I keep getting large amounts of ceramic dust in the bags and a bubbler that I have attached thru several feet of tubing. The water in the bubbler turns foggy white and it even leaves a build up of chalky dust on the inside of the glass. Arizer's response was "not to worry because the ceramic is non-toxic." Completely ignoring the fact that my concern is with inhaling microscopic pieces of ceramic dust.
After calling them out on their dodgy BS and sending pictures of the cracks, they haven't responded to my email.

I can't be much help, I'm just wondering if they think you may have handled it roughly or dropped something in there?
I am in no way saying you did, maybe if you showed pictures showing wear and tear vs negligence theyll be more inclined?

Thank you bro! Your the man! I'm gonna smoke a bowl to that! LOL

That settles the adapter answers but I found a SSV that comes with a hose & a nice glass mouth piece on Ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SILVER-SURF...OR-VAPORIZER-/231450975591?fromMakeTrack=true
Is this the correct SSV I'm suppose to get? Now I'm on a hunt on eBay for the quarter size screen. Will the screens ever get used up & get holes since its not gonna get burned? How many screens should I pick up?

Yeah as stated by hoptimum, make sure the SSV wand is GG. DO NOT BUY the standard SSV whip.

The screens that fit my SSV GG wand are .625", but I believe .75" will work, just make a bigger dome. What others are referring to is the screens that go into the DDave adapter, which if they say is a the size of a quarter would be 1" screens.

From removing them and cleaning them they will start to unravel, depending on how gentle you are with them. But yeah, they last considerably longer than combustion days.
