@Mushroomturtle my draw speed is probably pretty fast. I'm used to quick 4-6 draws on the glass symphony, I'll try to slow it down and see if I get better results.

My bernzo max flame does look a bit small, the tank was about 50-75% full in the pic. How is it compared to yours @duff ?

I have a video of heating and drawing on it, but I figured I wouldn't post it unless my flame looked good.

@StormyPinkness that looks tiny compared to the lowest setting on the Big Buddy. Did you locate any cracks in your inspection of the heater? Doubt it'll affect your lack of results given how long you're heating, if I had to guess I'd say you need a stronger torch

You can see the tip here @StormyPinkness. I have it on the highest setting here.
    Flame is about 1 inch.
Looks pretty similar to your flame but is much smaller than the Big Buddy.
I had good results with it however.
In that video, I spun it like a vapcap.

I had an ELEV8R 'milk attack' today.

A milk attack happens when I have overheated the heater to combustion temperatures. I have learned a very simple technique to deal with the milk attack situation while completely avoiding combustion. First I place the deliberately overheated ELEV8R on the glass piece and begin to draw. If I get instant white-out conditions I know I am about to experience cumbustion of the load thus the term 'milk attack'. I have learned a little technique to deal with the milk attack. I take a good draw and watch the glass instantly white out so I simply lift the ELEV8R off the glass to stop combustion and place it back down on the rig for the next rip, if it instantly milks out again I simply lift the ELEV8R off the rig and back down for one more go at it. After two white out hits sometimes I can get one more worthwhile draw out of the load.

From doing this strange little technique I think it is possible to vape at very high temps with the ELEV8R and never combust. Anyway, this is what I have been doing.

this will come in handy! What would be the equivalent technique using the wand? I guess maybe letting it cool longer?

tbh I have only used the ELEV8R wand once. I am more of a WPA guy.

Heya, to me the flame does look a bit small. I wouldn't obsess over heating the dimpled bits too much, try and evenly spread the flame around. I'm always a bit wary of accidentally firing the torch into the inlet hole, that's the only thing I watch out for .
Let us know how a very slow draw goes (literally as slow you can go). Even if it's not a big cloud, it would be a positive step to get some dense vapour pouring out.

@StormyPinkness I would say that your torch just is not up to the task. When the gas gets very low in the Blazer torches, the flame shrinks but keeps on going, at at least the same length as your photo.

When I have already been heating it I have tried to carry on as the flame shrinks, exhausting every last bit to get a worthwhile hit. But it just isn't enough in those situations. I could never get a good hit with the flame below a certain point. You really should not have any problem getting results. There is no doubt an obvious explanation, which I think can only be the torch.
Get a Blazer or equivalent, load 0.2-0.3 of at least coarse ground, heat 30-45 seconds....THEN come back and bemuse us with reports of failiure!;)

@Alexis - what the hell? Please forgive me as I haven't been following this thread for a while - but all the awesome talk from @VCBud live feed and watching his testing in the NewVape thread and NOT here? Has it been brought up here and i've missed it? What kind of agenda are you pulling?? :brow:

For real though, I watched it yesterday and was surprised that nobody else took the initiative yet! Seems like a very basic solution to make this an amazing glass desktop vaporizer. I liked this vape, but not the temperature in the dark guessing game with the torch.... but with digital precision.... this is pretty next level IMO. Bring on quartz, and this basic little beast is now a top desktop contender! I MUCH preferred the Elev8tr to the Glass Symphony. Looks like i'll have to pick one up again.

Might just pick up a few heaters, and 18mm female to male adapters instead of the $30 bowl.

Sup!? Any thoughts, ideas, etc on using the 16mm coil with the elev8tr? Any plans at HQ to introduce something that mates well with it? Quartz in the works?

EDIT: Getting PM's, so here is the link to Bud's live feed. He achieves great success near the end at 700 on the controller. @VCBud looking forward to your next to see what up after you dial 'er all in! BOOM!

I'm not sure I understand one part. You don't use a sick clip and just lift the heater, or do you lift the entire WPA with the heater still connected? :hmm:

:rofl:Vital you do seem to be getting awfully confused and overcomplicating the simple! No way is @steama or anybody else removing, or even thinking about touching the heater with any object/material, while it is in usage heat zone/mode. Just not happening! Steama simply means he is lifting the whole wpa out of the bubbler momentarily to cut the draw so that the excess heat in the heater doesn't cause fire. It would not be practical, wise or at all necessary or advantageous to try and lift the heater off and on again during hits.
The sick clip is always going to be attached during use, no way you want that glass just perched, resting on top.

Thanks for clarifying, but again you seem to have this so confused.
I could understand you planning to mark the Big Buddy gas lever at your desired level, which it CAN do (although just not necessary as I explained).

However, you simply can't use this approach at all with the Big Shot. As @LabPong mentioned above, the flame will vary as gas goes up and down. There will never be a set place, and even if there was I don't see how you would mark it on such a small dial.

But regardless, you will only want to use the Big Shot with Elev8r on the LOWEST flame possible. Every time you turn it on you will be totally reliant on your senses- sound and vision, to fiddle with the gas to get the flame just right. No mark ob the dial will ever be of any help here. Hope that is a bit clearer for you now, it is all far simpler and more intutiive than you are picturing it all.

@biohacker easy bro hope you are good.:) Awsomw to have you on board over here for a "project"! Maybe, just maybe, we will share a vape yet?:brow:
I will have some thoughts on this all for you later, just starting my day kind of- steam and shower now. So wasted every day when I get up. Only 3 Elev8r loads yesterday, no edibles, no vapcap, and still mashup all day and now.

Some days I have way more, others less but still well hammered.:hmm: More for you later bro.

@Alexis looking forward to your thoughts. I did go back and catch up and saw Bud's post. And checked out VLF for some more info. Looks like all we need to do is open up the coil a bit to get it to fit over. I do have some fears of the glass expanding and breaking with the coil touching it, but I noticed Bud kept it a nice loose fit.

It feels so good to have you involved man with your typical lively, proactive energy and will for making things happen. Not being practical at all and always so tied up physically and mentally just gettimg through each day...and with a Newvape coil still costing me over £60 all in... I was just going to watch this for a while before making any moves.
I really need the community of smarter, more experienced memebers who are better placed and more capable, to do a little testing of the various options etc.

In the middle of my latest homeopathy course now. Mega hard die-off as always. Have been suffering SO BAD recent days. Even when infection is pretty low or contained, the symptoms form clearing each little bit are still over the top.

Did my steam just now and WOW WOW WOW! Amazing relief and deep lung clearance after several days of severe die-off congestion from very bottom of lungs. Just amazing relief right now. Phew, wipe a brow!

Elev8r: a few random thoughts- Bud was using the little glass nub to hold the coil in place. My heater has this nub, but not all do. I think new design omits it?

So we need to find out if that nub is needed. If so we can ask 7th Floor about bringing it back, certainly for the quartz heaters- they are in the works and due this month maybe, so we should try and decide if the glass nub is essential for the coil in case 7th Floor can factor it in with the quartz heaters.

Also- the Auber coil Bud uses hangs down at a suitable angle, so it rests nicely on the heater without too much gravity.
The Newvape coil is straight however. I saw Bud's photo of it, but I wonder how it would sit like that? Maybe too much strain, lopsided?

I would be worried about knocking the coil with it sticking out, and may just be a bit of a crane swing about with some glass breaking momentum. Just thoughts anyhow.
Right gotta shower then vape time. Feeling good, real good. More later.:)

Confusions easily arise and of course it all becomes crysral with hands on practise. Sorry @Vital I really didn't mean to patronise you, i just wish to assure and clarify. Sorry if I came across a little blunt, am only being playful really.;)

But @steama 100% is talking about lifting the whole Elev8r off the water pipe to avoid combustion. Certainly not without sick clip attached. Im sure the Elev8r could be used without the sick clip (when it is sick in bed:lol:), but would be pretty daft and asking for trouble.

I have combusted 4 times so far. Mostly at night when darker and tired. Hate the cleaning disruption to my session!
I have been recently pushing the higher temp hits and taking the largest hits I can.
However I am quite sure I get much stronger and deeper effects when I torch less, with very low visible vapor to begin with which tastes like orange juice!

I swear it pays off to not chase huge whitewall hits and start the load really gently. There is a line to draw, and I have noticed many times with different vapes, especially the vapcap, that when I kill a load really fast with higher heat- I get massive hits, but I feel afterwards that I have missed out on the psychoactive effect.

This has been happening with the Elev8r of late. Bigger hits, less tasty, harsher. But not such amazing, transcendental highs. When I heat less and get that gorgeous orange juice, light vapor to start- I instantly feel supremely medicated. Just takes patience.

But guessworrk also. Torch is hassle too, so you have to make it seem rewarding enough
(i.e. fatter hits). The enail coil- should solve all these matters. Low temp, longer hits would be smashing I think.

Edit- and everything else on top of those low tempers- I want it all believe me, pushing boundaries!

I pulled the trigger on the Auber 300 with the 15.8 coil. Should be here Sat. for testing. I will let you guys know what becomes of my tweaks as I go forward with ditching the butane for any vape. It's like I can see the light through the crack in the wall right now. haaaaa

I think your flame might be a tiny bit bigger, hard for me to tell though. Doesn't seem like a big enough difference for mine to not work, very weird. I'm just hesitant to buy the bigger torch for it because I wouldn't use it with any of my other vapes. I'd love for my smaller portable torches to work so I could take this out with me.

Problem solved I guess, much bigger torch needed. Thanks for the help thread peoples.

Hey, it's all the way at the end, basically but very cool. I'm not getting a coil and all that, but it's very cool that he made it work without using a torch.

Yo! I just saw this adapter on Vapefiend's site. It looks VERY similar to the one in your photo there. What do you think? Any good for this setup?
    https://vapefiend.co.uk/collections/glass-adapters/products/18mm-female-to-14mm-male-adapter

I really would like to try other bowl options that keep the load more centred and funnel the air through the herb more evenly.
Like you I am looking to reduce the width of the bowl at the screen, which is wider than it needs to be IMO for best performance. I feel like a narrower, more funnelled bowl would enable more even, more complete and faster extraction from same size or smaller loads.
Not sure what screens would be right yet though. I think this adapter may be the exact same one you show?

Is that bowl the one you are still using now and how do you feel about it after more usage?
Only a few words bro if you have the time. I wanna try this bowl but would really appreciate your thoughts on it first, having a few "years" of experience on me haha!;)
