Super Surfer Vaporizer

Looking at this and a few others for a new table top vape. I use a Pax for portability right now (looking at the new Haze) and still have my old school Vapor Tower (works great actually) as my only flower vape tools. I know I'm way behind in tech and that's probably why I still smoke quite a bit of flower instead of always vaping. I would like to move to Vaping flower (and concentrates)only if I can find the best units to do this with, or at least replace some of my many joints, bong hits and Pinch hits! Would you guys give this a shot or is there a better one to go with for the money? I may see if the prices drop on this one for Christmas due to slow sales.

It really isn't about the new tech as much as it is about performance. For example when you look at the whole line of 7th Floor corded vapes you will see most of the same tech across all the units it just got repackaged to re-appeal with added functions and different capabilities. So look closely at the Super Surfer and see if it meets your needs or would a different packaging work better for your needs and wants.

I have just received the new (2nd hand) super surfer from ebay, however it seems it has scratches on the body and temp and fan glass knobs are already fallen, and one of the knob staying bit wonky.. All these minor defects can be understandable if it works great, however I can't get this thing hot enough, I left it for 20 mins on max to get few wispy hits but I rather wish I could combust with my ssv like many others.. My abv is not even brown it's light yellow colour.. I vaped my abv from super surfer in Vivaoe 2 and got more than 7 descent puffs.. I wish I could bought it directly from 7th floor.. I was wonderinf if 7th floor honor the 2nd hand warranty?
Many Thanks.

With the heat off and after it's had time to cool, of course, I would inspect to see if the heater cover wasn't pushed all the way down. My first SSV that happened in shipping to me and i had the same complaint. called 7th floor, that was their first suggestion, its never had an issue since.

if the heater cover is all the way on be sure the ceramic rod isnt too far from the top of the heater cover. it shouldnt be very far.

i'm confused... you're TRYING to combust?

Ofcourse not. I had my last joint 3 years ago. I bought SSV for it's extraction power but it seems mine is kind of lower powered? I was watching old ssv review from r3dband otherday and their ssv was not getting hot enough as used to be and they had to send it back but it was still not getting hot even after the service.. So I suspect its defect..

Thanks @Hot Dog Day 187 I just had quick look and it seems my heater cover is touching the ceramic cane?

Definitely either call or email 7th floor, i know you're in the UK and they're in the USA but if you can figure the time zone difference to Colorado they're very helpful.

The heater cover should not be actually touching the ceramic rod, but pretty dang close to it. Be sure your heater cover is clean too.
I've owned a couple different SSVs and never had insufficient heat problems like this that weren't solvable by one of these steps.

Handheld SSV+ Alan's HI silicon roasting tubes = *mind blown*
My bong was milked so fast and thoroughly I thought I combusted but it was just great flavor not burnt at all?!

I took off the heater cover and pressed down the ceramic cane, and it kind of repositioned by it self with spring mechanism I guess..
Now ceramic cane is in much better angle/position, that it won't touch the heater cover like before. I get much richer vapor production compare to before and it really tasted nice, thank you, @Hot Dog Day 187 , @Frank Reynolds.
However I still feels like can't get full extraction.
I just left it on max for 20 min and had roughly 10 min session until I won't get any more vapor production out of my precious 'AMS GH Tangerine Dream' and the avb was not even light brown color.. and this time, I got 5 more whispery puffs out of the Mighty which is the portable device..
Heater cover in good position, ceramic cane is glowing red, I inhale slow or normal, everything seems fine and I just don't know..

Dear ssv owners, how's your avb from SSV on maximum temperature look like? Is my avb looks as it has been vaped on maximum temperature on your SSV?

I've found that it you start on a higher temp from the get go, I can get it pretty dark. But if I start low for max flavor, no matter how high I turn the SSV up, I can't get it dark.

So I stopped worrying about ABV color, I just hit it until I no longer see vapors.

Same here. That said, I can't tell you o'clock's because the SSV is always facing away from me, but I rarely use it at less than 3/4ish full. That's my preferred heat level and it comes out pretty dark brown, just hit it until nothing is left like @Tweak.

Never used a speherical heater cover myself but i can only imagine its weird to a new user. i gotta recommend you try out the standard heater cover + wand setup maybe?

@steama you have my apologies.. I did not sign or get a picture with the Super Surfer.... but I am taping an envelope to the box's outside before going to the Post Office.
It is a message on one of the few "Vaporist Greeting Cards" I have left from my Zazzle collection http://www.zazzle.com/vaportrail
The Super Surfer is a fun unit that is VERY functional, and I am certain you will enjoy it~

@Vitolo Today I will receive a SILVER SURFER.

I want just a little more power and need to leave it on 24/7!

You had a big influence on my purchase.
My Daughter got Da BUDDHA and it worked straight out of the Box!
That's when I realized your point on the SS was valid.

I hope all is well for you!

It is moving along slowly here.... the wheels of justice (but we know there is no justice) move slowly.
The SSV is power.
You will love it.
My SSV that they took was on for many years 24/7... as is the one I got this year.
You will have no regrets.
Thanks for the tidings.
Your the coolest dude on this forum!

I ordered a heater cover and will use my @DDave kit for the wand.

It's high (:D) time i posted in this thread. Will be ordering my super thanks to the big sale going on. Picked up some oils from 7th floor as well. Love that it comes with a aromatherapy diffuser
Any tips or tricks ?I'm familiar with the ssv so I know this isn't too different. I'm actually excited to try the bags.
I had an extra discount code so the total minus the oils just the super is 284!!isn't that as much as a new surfer ?see you all in a few :)

I use basket screens in all my SSV type vapes. The Super Surfer has the spherical heater-cover and wand so I just remove the stock screen put a basket screen in the wand and it works exactly how I want, smaller loads and bigger hits. I also am finding I get superb vapor production with the Super at lower temps than with my Silvers. Maybe this has something to do with the air coming from the bottom instead of a hole in the heater cover? Either way I feel the Super gives a smoother hit than the Silvers. :2c:
Do you mind posting a few pictures showing how you stick a basket screen in the spherical wand ? What kind of basket screens are we talkin...arizer eq baskets or ddave ssv baskets or..?
I'm glad I found this post. I was worried I wouldn't be able to utilize the ddave mod. Ordering later today. Just notied on the website they are upgrading free shipping to 2 day !
I can already tell this will be the vape I bring over to friends to demonstrate and show them how cool vaporizing is. The lights are just a bonus ;)

IMO they all perform similar. The finer the mesh, the cleaner your wand stays of dust/debris. I prefer my baskets w/o a metal ring so they are adjustable up and down the wand.

A basket screen won't be as effective on the spherical, as the gap between the load the heating element isn't shortened as much as in the GG and standard.

My first venture with the SSV was with the SGG. IDK if it's just glass variance, but it has the widest chamber of all my 7th Floor wands, which gives you great flavor.

Lighter work load on the lungs is perceived as smoother I believe, for reason of reduced draw load forced on pulmonary musculature.

I never thought of it that way but your explanation is excellent. Not only enlightening to a specific vape and situation, but in a basic way alters the way one considers any vape. This is the kind of information a master vaporist shares. Thank you @Vitolo
Absolutely agreed!

A few tips in this thread may help as well:
