How long do these custom orders take?
I ordered it Wednesday night and it's still processing.

Hopefully not the full six business days.

I ordered a wave rider on the 10th of Feb & I don't think it's done yet. It's now the 21st. I called and spoke with 7th Floor today. I was told that these custom orders may take up to 3 weeks....so I'm not holding my breath..

the last 11 days have been such a drag...I feel like Cartman waiting for the Wii...

I ordered a custom glass mouthpiece and a temperature knob back in December and I'm still waiting...
Was 'supposed' to have been finished about a month ago now.
You should really email customer service or call them and bring this issue up.

Edit:
HOLY CRAP!
I just called 7th Floor after 6 days of still saying processing on the website (I have a thing about calling people that I dislike for some reason, I get really anxious and it makes me nervous for some reason so I choose not to call people)

I talked to a very nice lady and I told her:

"Hi, I ordered a silver surfer 6 days ago and on your website it still says that it's processing, is there anyway to see how far along the vaporizer is?"

She replied "Sure, just let me get your order number and I'll check for you"

She came back on the phone after I gave the numbers to her.

"It says it shipped on FRIDAY and is going to be at your house by tomorrow. The order update on the website is glitched and it doesn't change"

Scheduled Delivery:Wednesday, 02/23/2011, By End of Day HOLY SHIT I CAN'T WAIT NOW!!!

Definitely getting pics, vids, and everything that I can up due to the shortage of Silver Surfer pics and vids on the internet.

Shipwreck, A similar thing happened to me. I ordered it. Got the conformation email, and no emails from them after that. I waited a couple of days to get some shipping info, nothing. I was literally picking up the phone to call them when the package came

I only got the purchase confirmation email, they never sent me the tracking email.

I think that they forget A LOT lol

But the time they got my customized vape finished in was FAST.
I ordered it at like 8PM cali time on the 16th (Which is I believe 9PM Colorado time)
They shipped it out on the 18th.

Great company to do business with.

Hopefully the engraving looks like how I wanted it to :)

You guys helped me make the decision to get an SSV and I finally decided I should post here. Overall it has its limitations, but I really enjoy using the surfer.

I lurked on a bunch of sites while trying to find the perfect first vape, but just seems to have the best information, especially on the SSV. I too decided to purchase the SSV after reading about it on here, and I am in no way disappointed. It is the only vape I have ever owned, unless you count the stupid thing I bought online for $60 that did almost nothing.

What limitations do you speak of? Just curious. The only thing I can think of is that you have to plug it in. It would be cool if it had a small rechargeable battery with enough power to heat the element properly and last for hours. But, I don't think that is possible at this time. So, I can't think of any real limitation the SSV has.

It really doesnt work in a party setting, with a bag vape you can blow up a bag and pass it around and everyone can easily take a quick hit. The surfer cant easily be passed, and the whip only reaches a couple of feet. Like I said, the surfer really only works for 1-3 people at a time in my opinion. Other than that Im a pretty big fan of my surfer. I particularly like the milky rips I get from it.

My friend just contacted me! (I sent the vape to his house) and it's HERE!

Going to his house at around 3:30 I'll try uploading from my phone as I open!

SO STOKED!

With a 9 ft. power cord what would you need a longer whip? That's just more area for vapor to condensate. I would agree that whip vapes become more of a hassle with a large group, but many a time I have vaped with large groups of people. It when you get more than 5 people that a second SSV is nice :D

I was transporting my SSV in my backpack today (in a box) and the heater cover came loose, snapped in two, and part of the metal flange around the heating element bent. I have no idea how this happened. :(

What do I do now? :(

mine is very tight...def not wobbly.
whats bent exactly? the small piece of metal inserted? if so this comes with new heater cover i believe.
you should invest in a case from the site, works well and looks cool!

This one didn't seem to have any...spacers or anything in it. It just sat over the heater cover loose. Is that normal? :/

edit: I could super glue it back together in the interim. :p

That is very true. However, the rich hits cannot be beat. The only bag vape I have ever used is the Volcano, and while it is a very efficient vape, the hits just don't taste as good to me.

No, that is not normal. There should be spacers between the heater cover and the metal chassie that hold the element in.

I believe the metal is flexible; you should be able to bend it back with a pair of needle nose pliers.

Different heater elements will fit slightly differently, which is where the spacers come into play. The heater cover should be rather snug.

I would ask 7th floor if they could include a couple spacers with you next heater element.

Finally I received this beast of a vaporizer yesterday! And all I have to say is WOW, I'm still a little high from last night.
Did a test run and it went over successfully, we've found the sweet spot for the vaporizer and I noticed that the weed was lasting FOREVER.

As promised here are pictures, review, unboxing

Not all covers have shims. It depends on the version you have. The HC in question may not need shims, but may have some other issue - "The little bit around the ceramic element is bent". It's best to call 7th Floor. Last I heard they are answering the phone. They should be able to tell you what's going on and what you need.

Your completely right. There are spacers fixed between the heater cover and metal chassie that hold the heating element sturdy. The metal is flexible and can easily be bent with your fingers or a pair of pliers. If you adjust it accordingly, the heater cover SHOULD fit in their snug. Taking the Heater Cover on and off repeatedly will definitley "loosen" the fitting and will require this kind of re-adjustment.

You should call them. It shouldn't take that long to get a custom order. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. ;)

Yeah I have done a number of times and I'm told each time that it should be shipped within a few days or something.

I'm happy to wait more patiently for what I hope will be some pretty nice pieces plus I've learnt not to get annoyed about these types of things anymore, but yeah it would be good if I can get my glass soon!

Hopefully they'll be special enough for some pics to post up.

here for the chicks
Holly crapcakes, I just made mah first fire with mah SSV y'all!!

I only had it set at around twelve or so, but I stuffed a pretty full bowl and I was toking thru mah cheap ass waterbong and couldn't taste that it was getting so hot until I saw the flames. This never happened when I used the SSV without a bong, I should've never gotten in to glass in the first place. I just got this one yesterday and I already ordered my second piece this evening, that'll teach me. Damned addictions :/

I hope a vodka bath will get the taste of ass out off my wand. Pretty little fire it was though, someone should try to catch one of those one video :o
