lol brother you are definitely ahead of where I was when I first started out, let me tell ya!

You may find that that material has been very slightly underpurged. Since it is second wash and a lot of the washes were done a while back and left suspended in the 600ml ethanol you mentioned, I'm sure the majority of the consistency is explained by oxidization of your ethanol/oil solution over time (it is possible that some of your THCA has decarbed, not necessarily decomposed into CBN yet though). We never expect the best material from second wash! If that is fully purged (and it is very difficult to determine this from this photo alone), then that is as good as you can really expect from the latter alcohol washes on a given sample of material. I have had rosin that is difficult to collect like you describe this material except when cooled like you describe too. That is not necessarily the same as residual solvent slickness.

Improvements can be made beyond this level with some further advanced processing, but most of these methods (except winterization perhaps - have you tried this yet? I will have to run you through it otherwise!) are not the kinds of things you (or most folks) should be doing at home for both cost and safety reasons :)

@dizaster096 man that WCC full melt is FIRE! Props to those guys for retailing great meds to the people! Every time I see bubbleman dab something they kicked him down I can almost smell it through the internet :D

P.S. I think those tags are a bit messed up bro. You need to just paste the direct image URL from imgur inside of the image tags to get the picture. Don't use the forum embed code they give you.

    • Strain: Congolese
    • Material: Mixed micron bubble
    • Consistency: Shatter
    • Genotype,Phenotype: Sativa 100%, Landrace strain
    • Taste: Piney, Honey, Spice, Cherry, Orange
    • Effects: Euphoria and energetic, creativity
I've seen a lot of pretty shitty lookin contaminated rosin for 80$ Cad. So i don't buy it unless its a producer i have used before. This squish is extremely clean have another from heavenly daze of Lyndsay OG rosin incoming too lol. I've had his congolese in flower plenty of times very good strain and he has a lot of good cuts like Skunkman Sams Seedsman Haze(Original Haze),Sweet Skunk. Exclusive bc cuts etc.

I've noticed not even in legal states do they always list the exact phenotype and exactly what quality of material is being used. Heavenly even lists the consistency of the run or squish your getting per run, Pretty much all his shatters are crown nug runs which is nice too.

Here's a small peak at heavenly daze garden a year ago from bubbleman.

A shiney 250x close up of a delicious 25u 6 star (yes, 25u full melt!) temple ball. The stuff is straight shatter, sounds like glass when you tap it! Yes, you could bhomb the whole thing and watch it furiously bubble away - but you might need to clear the next day's schedule!

    Peace all!

Dang, hard following a post like that, @dizaster096 , nice! And freaking hash balls from hb before THAT...

But I gots what I gots...

Homemade (ind-dom pheno) Green Crack shatter made from 1/2oz bud and 1/2oz fine trim (2.8g return), scraped today.

Not pretty (purged the frack out of it and stirred some as well, just to see what buddering might do - will probably re-melt on slick pad and hit the fridge for ten again), but effects are *magniiiiiiificent*.

    Peace and good vaping everyone!

but does BubbleMan give you commission? I talked myself out of the BubbleNow long ago, but you've got me reconsidering the little chinese washing machine (would buy the bubbleman one probly). None of my bubble looked near as good as your stuff, although I never really refined the technique, just got a basic method and ran with that and 4 bags for a while. But, may be growing again soon with recreational legalization, so my true dream of being a grower and hash-maker may be fulfilled again soon.

I don't use bubbleman's tek man, I have abandoned basically every aspect of his technique. I do use a bubblenow and his bags though, which I 100% vouch for.

Method is more important to get the best quality of material than which machines and bags you have, but the starting material you use is more important still. Only the very best material going in will get you the best results coming out ;)

yeah, no your pics look better than what i remember seeing over at bubbleman's hideout back when i looked around over there. commission just for selling me on the machine. but, i'll do plenty more reading before buying that. months before any possible harvests. actually, hopefully reading more will let me up my game some with just the 4 bags i have.

Oh thanks man! I appreciate the kind words :)

Which four bags do you have? You'd be surprised the results you can get with the right 4 for your material!

Having a machine is crucial since manual agitation just cannot recreate the effect of water vortexing rapidly for removing those heads. Manual agitation is much more likely to break the plant material apart and contaminate your hash. Drill agitation is worse than manual agitation for this reason.

A good machine, the right bags and the best possible starting material will take you about 33-50% of the way to making perfect hash. The rest is down to how you prepare your material before the wash, how you do your washes (how many, how long for each one etc). Also how you collect, how you separate your collections, which bags you use and during which washes, your cleaning technique of your bags/machine/processing space and much more. The environmental conditions are extremely important during every stage of making good bubble. Your drying technique is beyond important for the final quality of your hash. You could make beautiful material but then end up losing it all to mold if your drying is not effective.

I think this covers most of what you need to work at to reliably get the best possible quality hash. No matter your skill and tools though, you're not going to get hash as photogenic as the picture above without very fire flowers! Work at those growing skills while you wait for legalization to take shape. They'll serve you well in the future when you harvest and start to make your bubble again :)

Blue 220, Red 160, Yellow 73, Purple 25. If i remember correctly... Red would mostly be horrible. Yellow was usually easily my best, and Purple varied more. Only ever ran a few different strains, and sometimes would do mixed trim of different to get more material. Very ghetto, would put trim immediately in freezer after trimming. Used smashed block ice and fairly gentle agitation with a spoon, maybe 10-15 minutes. Often 2 runs on same material, longer and more violent on the 2nd run.

Hmm, one problem you have is that your first two bags are not what we consider 'full melt bags'. Both are contaminant bags and the hash you'll get in a 160 bag from the very nicest flower runs will still be little better than your average kief.

You are also missing a very important bag - the 45u bag. Frenchy Cannoli uses a 45u bag instead of the 73 - that gives you a good idea of the quality of results you can get with a 45. It is important to use a 45 before the 25u bag since the 25u will rarely be as melty as the 45u. In some cases though, I have found the reverse - the 25u (like my temple ball above!) is much more melty than the 45u. In either case, you need to collect these pore sizes separately so both bags are necessary.

You really also need a 120u bag. going straight from 160u to 73 means that you will be unlikely to get much 6 star melt even from the best material. This is because after very few washes, even from the best material, anything between 120-160u is not going to be very melty (the 160u will likely never be very melty, I have made 120u 6 star but only from the most mature, resin covered flower) and mixing it in with your main money bag (73u) is going to bring the overall melt of your best collections down.

Bringing this back around to a picture thread.... ;)

Picked up something new yesterday at the dispensary; Goji OG C02 jelly. I hadn't seen this before. The consistency is.. like jelly. When you take your dab out, the 'dent' doesn't fill back in. Really smooth.

This is a 'reconstituted full melt'. My own tek that I debuted a little while back now, turns non-full melt into 6 star (without rosining the original hash or losing any of the original flavor of it). Sorry for the grainy shot, I just bhombed a large chunk of this a moment ago lol

This was my breakfast dab this morning. Really a good flavor.. sort of like a lemon dipped in gasoline.

And I also picked up some Vanilla Kush from a new extractor that I hadn't tried before. Wonderful tones of vanilla in the exhale.

Sounds like some good Winter fu-el to me to kick-start the day (look at me carolling on FC :brow:).

That sour diesel looks almost like a nice melty hash except for the tell-tale orange color of the resin (this color does not show up in hashmaking, even from material that reliably produced orange errl with other extraction methods). I've noticed some folks here sharing a lot more interesting looking solvent extracts lately and I'm glad to see some more extractors are stepping up their solvent teks - Looks great :D
