I feel such sadness for a person I don't even know. I felt this way when beloved George Carlin passed away. A suicide is such a tragedy. He must of been in a lot of pain.

May you rest in peace, the pain is gone. You sweet man.

EDIT: Depression a huge, huge issue in the world.

this makes me very sad.... It hurts to know the anguish he must of been feeling,,, It hurts when someone with so much does this....... Suicide hurts those that know you, and we all knew Robin Williams.... He will always be Popeye to me...

This also makes me mad at him.. He depressed the whole country is what my gf said...

so many people have hardly nothing.... but they carry on.. I just lost my job 2 mo ago and I am crazy with anxiety about being fucking homeless but I have to carry on...

He could of just kept drinking and pilling and fucking but this is what he chose...... FUCK... it's sad ... don't know what else to say..

Oscar-winning actor and comedian Robin Williams, 63, who died Monday in California, was also known for his work with the United Service Organization, a nonprofit that works to lift the spirits of U.S. troops. In this role, Williams performed for American troops stationed in Afghanistan, Iraq and, in one of his most memorable appearances, in Kuwait.

I was born in 1981 and have loved Robin for as long as I can remember. So sad today and for awhile. Im not really big on sentiment for celebs but if you grew up in the 80's and 90's hell even the 70's you cant help but love him. RIP and if you need help please try to get it.

I'm a little surprised at how much this has effected me. I know, of course, how much I liked him, but I hadn't noted that I needed him. I have found myself with wet eyes several times since I learned. I watched Good Will Hunting last night and will watch Dead Poets Society and Garp in the next few days. His comedy is outstanding but I find it's his heart that has effected me most. His ability to make you feel and to care. And his effervescence, like a shaken bottle of pop that explodes over everything around it. From his first appearance on Mork and Mindy through his serious roles and his fight for life from within his pain he was a model of humanity that was unique in many ways. We will go on because that is all there is, but it won't be the same. Something important will be missing.

His pain is likely over but OUR wish needs to be that reincarnation is real and he will come back to us soon in some form or another. If only it could be a form that so effectively helped US deal with the world...

Worldwide, there are 350 MILLION people who suffer from depression and I have no doubt that that figure could double if all those who are inflicted with it actually reported it and sought help.

It really is a global epidemic that kills and it needs to be viewed as such.

Depression is one hell of a wicked demon, and it claimed another victim.

It's sad to know that many of the people we find to be the funniest are the one's that end up having the most tortured souls.
