It's the least I could do @RastaVapa given the opportunity you've given me.

Hope the sapele has that iridescence the lidded log has once it's turned and polished, the beech speaks for it's self, spaltered all the way thru.
Shame the apple won't get a chance to be a log but a great re-purpose. Dab tool and cuticle cutter holder.

My first customers stuff is showing as 'On it's way to O'Hare Chicago' fingers crossed it arrives at it's final destination in the next few days.

If half the stuff RV and myself have been discussing come off it's going to be the best of times.

Some serious testing coming up @Ruta, I'll get Mrs.PP to do some baking, I've had enough excuses about her knee. It was a minor procedure and she needs to get over it, she wants to see some of the nasty splinters I get.:)

I think you may be right @boon.
I've put a few ideas to RV, some of which he's either tried or thought about trying, but when he tells me he's buying materials to actually build something we spoke about that's never been done before it puts a huge grin on my hairy face.
@RastaVapa and @mvapes have both shown me that no matter what life throws at you great things are always round the corner. They are both an inspiration and it's a real pleasure to have common interests and a love for creating beautiful tactile objects.

If you have't seen the mans work before. Hopefully get some stuff out to you in the future mvapes.

I was only supposed to be doing a bit of 'roughing out' toady in between the other stuff that comes with the school holidays.
One thing led to another and before I knew it what looked like a piece of nondescript wood had sucked me in. I could tell the blank was two tone but I didn't expect it to be quite as good as this.

I didn't expect to be doing any 'open log' surgery that's for sure. 36mm, 1.4" diameter at the base and 106mm tall, 4.7".

Many thanks @Copacetic I'm just going to keep loading the lathe and turning stuff and see where the mood and wood take me. The log has to be turned on and used to simulate real time usage so it's all outside of my box.
@HD Springer you're one of the few people who see's some of the pieces I've turned that don't get shown here so you know every chance I get I'm trying out something or other. The stuff that doesn't make it is all good experience and will be tried again and every time a piece like this latest one comes off the lathe I do smile to myself.
It's coming together my friend and who knows where I'll be in a year or two but one things for certain I'm gonna need a bigger shed.

@StickyBricks Many thanks for the kind words of encouragement and I'm glad you like the look of the stuff I've tried so far. Plenty more ideas running around in my head.

Neo magnets gotta love 'em,, I worked at a place that made MRI scanners now they were magnets.

I can imagine you sitting at a bench trying to keep them away from anything steel, anything steel away from them and trying to keep them away from each other. Mind your fingers.

The Brick is getting some great reviews and that recent glass is outstanding. Keep it coming.

I'm about to take a 2 week vacation in the sun. No vaping and no turning.
I can handle the no greenery side of things but no turning that's going to be hard.
To make up for it I cut a Scots Elm bowl blank to see how it would come out, the remaining piece has a knot, a burr and some inclusion going on so when I get back it will be next on the lathe. Faint spalter lines in there as well.

And because @Philreal187 enjoys his wood porn animated.

Hopefully when I get back the package I sent to the States will have actually arrived at it's final destination so I can send out some other International orders. It's been showing as being at O'Hare for far too long now.

Thanks @Philreal187 the pleasures of relaxation normally elude me. I need to occupy myself. It's more a well deserved vacation for Mrs. PP and my little one.
What makes it worse is after a quick Whatsapp exchange with @RastaVapa I now know he has a mystery package for me.
A massive 'shed fix' will be in order when I get back.

@Squiby Many thanks and no matter the outcome of the first package you will be getting your order sent out when I get back, as long as your postal system is behaving accordingly.

I'm going to help boost the Spanish economy. They have Cannabis Clubs over there so you can bet your bottom one my nose will be twitching.

I hope you and the Mrs. and your daughter have an awesome time. I know you are a better man then myself. Not sure I could refrain from scratching that itch while on vacation/holiday.
Also can't wait to see what the "shed" has in store for itself when you return.
Have fun and by God try and remember the SPF 1000 that they just invented for the pailer skinned holiday seekers. Haha.
Peace.

@HD Springer I found some of this so we should be okay, and had @Ruta here last nite and have still abstained. I don't know whether it's vaping, age or life situation or all three mixed together but when I smoked I found it very difficult going without.

Had a quick phone conversation with @priestsmiler earlier and I am glad to say that the UK postal system is reliable enough for him to have received his parcel in good time.
Can't say the same for the US system.
NxbNEh3.jpg

The order was for a SS body, either a short body so he could fit his own MP or a longer one, but it had to fit the airtight tubes George sends stuff out in. He got a bit of both.

As he had faith in me and paid me up front, not something I would normally accept, I sent him out an extra long condenser tube with a Blackwood MP with the short body and a long body with a MP and condenser George sent over with my last order.

The lower SS tube came from a fellow VC user and is very thin walled and weighs a lot less than the short one.

As the whole @VapCap set up allows for chopping and changing PS now has the long condenser fitted to the rifled glass body I sent him the first time and I seem to think he mentioned buying tips for the other stuff. Not that he's been bitten by the VC bug at all.

Hi all. I've been wanting to throw a msg up in here for a few days now. I was just wanting @phattpiggie to be back from holiday or vacation depending on where you live, first.
But my package finally made it through customs. Unreal how long they can hold a package. Any how it WAS well worth the wait.

Great job Phatts. I knew the wooden body's you turned for me would be on the mark. You way outdid yourself mate.

I had to wait a little bit longer then I was wanting to order my ti tip. So now I have another little wait then it will be vapcap TI city.

Pics to follow soon. First I need to learn how then watch out FC cause I'm going to be posting all kinds of pics. Hehe. Jk.

@HD Springer, the quick whatsapp we had the other day put a big smile on my face, you have no idea how pleased I was and am that you finally got the stuff I sent over. Pleased you like them and look forward to hearing how you get on once you get a Ti tip.

@Squiby next week your order will be posted out.

@Stevenski, @arrr and anyone else who would like something making up feel free to get in touch.
Now my first order has made it overseas I'm a lot happier and will welcome any orders to foreign lands.

I had a good week out of the UK and managed 12 out of 14 days without vaping. I didn't really struggle even when the guy in the apartment below us sparked up a couple of times.

I did a bit of relaxing but spent quite a while drawing things on my tablet whilst away and hopefully something inspired thru a conversation with @ZC will be on the cards.

Today, my postmaster had a package waiting for me; From Great Britian to Canada in 9 days, from @phattpiggie to @Squiby. I knew it must be my Vapcap stems!:nod::clap:

I wanted to rip the package open right there and then, but @Phattpiggies wrapping and posting service had that parcel sealed up tighter than steel drum.

So, once I got home I began the carefull unravelling to reveal a tin of hemp and beeswax finish a chunk of carnauba wax and two stunningly beautiful wood stems.

The pic does not capture the beauty of these stems. The depth of the Olive and Burl wood just does not come across on my camera.

Thanks so much Phatts!!! I really do appreciate your fantastic craftsmanship.

Beautiful!!! Just beautiful!!!

I haven't tried them yet, but will shortly. I just wanted to share my joy...

Oh my @Squiby those are smooth as hell.
I'm in love with these @phattpiggie stems. And I'm terribly embarrassed and feel a bit bad that I haven't posted mine yet.

Everything you said about Phatts shipping is spot on. It's exactly what I got to enjoy. Except my pathetic US customs held on to my package almost a month I believe.

Anyway hopefully I'll have the needed parts to finish them at the end of the week. Can't wait.

Again @Squiby you have two 1 of a kind stems that are beautiful. So cool.

@Squiby So pleased they arrived safely and in good time.

terribly embarrassed
And so you should be my friend.

@little maggie and @StormyPinkness nice to hear from you and I look forward to making something up for the pair of you.

@Shit Snacks another familiar face, thanks for the kind words, fingers crossed this is just the beginning. You're probably well aware my mind is overloaded with ideas, hopefully I will be able to translate them into 3D objects.

Cigarette holders have played a big part in some of the ideas I've had but years of tobacco abuse puts me off buying them to re-purpose. They look so elegant and some of the forms will translate well for VC stems and possibily others.

I found some free time and with the Blackwood @Ruta dropped off last visit I set about making one.
Foto on the VC thread and a short video here. Sorry for the quality.
@arrr something along these lines perhaps??
