Excuse me but I am not hating on it. I have been vaping oil with electronic vaporizers for a long time now and have gone through so many vaporizers. I know what I am doing. I will post a video so you can see yourself.
If I am spending $300 I do not expect it to leak at all!!!

Also, i should be able to use whatever concentrate I want after spending $300

And u can't repack it with wax after first use until the insert cools down. :(

I went from the PAX1 to the PAX3 and have never used a PAX2. That being said, the temp control that the the PAX3 offers makes for much better quality AVB, and the machine is a vapor producing beast in comparison with the 1. Also, not having to clean it every 4-5 uses and charge it for 3 hours usually twice a day(the 3 lasts about 1 3/4ths days before it needs a charge at my level of use, which is heavy, and only takes an hour. If you can't stop vaping for an hour, you have a problem.) The cleaning is now a breeze. Every 15 uses or so, run a pipe cleaner with a little ISO on the top through the air path, and give the screen and oven a gentle wipe down. All the surfaces seem to be much less prone to stickiness. And while they've done away with the pop up style mouthpiece, if you don't like the flat mouthpiece, they include a mouthpiece that is the same as the old style. Lastly, I didn't buy the machine expecting it to kick ass and take names with concentrates, I have multiple dab rigs for that, but it does. No, it doesn't hit like a Nectar Collector, but I've gotten plenty of cartridge sized hits, and it's nice to experience some of my stuff at a lower temp sometimes. You REALLY taste those terps. 5/5

Thanks for this advice, it sounds like a pleasure to live with and almost intelligent with the new lower flavor profiles and lip sensing.
I have decided even before your thoughts that I should get one, and Ratchett caps to match!
Partly it's because of the good battery life, partly the way it's a complete kit catering to half loads or big loads, partly the fast heat up, reliability, size!
And it's nice to try something new and different to me.

I might wait to see the competition's sales, I might not, but it would take a hot deal to put me off this now.
I'm gone back to wanting the black Pax3 for stealth reasons but it's hard letting go of the beautiful, exciting gold and silver choices!!

And thanks also to @kernal6500 for your input. I don't really need the insert but reaction to it has been slightly mixed at times.
It might have worked out better to have offered that insert as optional extra for PAX 2 and 3 from the start.
Wonder if a little piece of cotton inside would make it work better.

Thank you. Indeed I did. But I bought my first vape in '99, and have experience with most current models. I've been fucking combustion for close to 20 years lol.

It took me a minute to decide on black(my PAX1 is also black.) But I don't regret it. The smooth finish will allow for some slight scratches over time, and I think black hides them the best. The Firefly 2 has been out for long enough now that it has its fans, while the PAX has its own set of fans. Common complaints I hear with the Firefly2 are poor battery life(though it is a tiny little thing, and charging only takes 45 mins, but the PAX3 only takes an hour and lasts much longer. Both have excellent control via mobile app. But the Firefly2 costs $50 more and only has a 3 year warranty, while the PAX3 is $275 and has a 10 year warranty. That's the main reason I bought it new. I live in a town where used vapes are a dime a dozen, but I've spent more than the cost of the PAX3 in the last year dealing with trying to fix broken BS with broken machines, so I wanted something with a nice warranty. When I bought it I had the fact in mind that summer is coming, which means that I'll be out and about more, and never expected it to be my main machine. I figured I'd use my Vapor Bros at home. I've used it exactly once since I got the PAX3, just for comparison. I think it would make a fine daily driver for most people. I would still like to buy an Arizer Extreme Q at some point in the near future, because I really like its multifunctionality, and because there's no way to run the PAX3 through a bong, but if PAX decides to put out some kind of water attachment in the future, I can't see why it wouldn't be the only vape that 90% of people need. Also, I've heard a lot more people who know how to work a vape complain about the Firefly2. Usually they're unimpressed with the vapor quality/quantity. The people I've heard the most complaints from in regard to the PAX are people new to vaping, and particularly people who are new to vaping cannabis, but have experience vaping e-juice. They expect that same feel and that same cloud. But a lot of ecig vape mods put out bigger clouds than cigarettes do.

This could be a real game changer for me. I have to try it first, and unless someone makes a female adapter I'd need to get an adapter for the piece I prefer hooking up to vapes, but this could definitely turn it into a reliable daily driver for most people rather than a great portable. The only obvious design flaw that I see is that the adapter should be hooked up to a tube because the concentrate chamber will leak everywhere if the 3 is used upside down, but if someone wants to vape concentrate, there are plenty of options out there and usually I'd rather just dab it.

Here's how to use the concentrate insert with glass:

    Click to play YouTube Video

I do agree there's lots of ways to take a dab, and ideally I would use another method. Regardless I believe the Pax 3 could be a great daily driver.

    Forgot to add..

Female version of the Pax 3 water adapter: https://www.newvape.com/pax-accessory-pax2-to-male-water-adapter-2743

The New Vape version costs 2x more than Delta 3D but they're also a different design. I prefer the cheaper 3D design but I don't believe they make a female version.

I'm not even big on water, but I would just like to add that I saw a little discussion somewhere while reading about Pax 3 that a WT attachment like the Delta 3D would require you to be mindful of the lip sensing while in use.
And I think they said they can work it by putting their fingers where the lips would normally be.
Not a huge deal, and it might be in the instructions of the attachment but it's something that I would never have thought of and it might cause someone confusion at the start.
    Hope it helps someone anyway!

Can anyone verify if the Pax3 suffers the same "sticky power button" failure as the Pax 2? The replacement Pax2 I received in October is now worse than the one it replaced.
I really don't feel like going thru the return process once again, if the Pax3 has solved the problem, I'd rather just buy a new one and be done with it. Can anyone verify?

Hi, so a few times since getting the Pax3 last month, I've hoped for an easy way to slightly reduce the oven size more than when using the half-pack lid only. Not many acceptable options out there.

Then a couple days ago I was looking at my never-to-be-used concentrate insert. I popped the concentrate lid's cap off and noticed the cap would be perfect to put on 30 or 40% of a full chamber (depending on which cap side is face down) before placing the half-pack lid on top.

    Prepare to be amazed

I took the rubber gasket off the cap first, but not sure whether healthier.

I've thought for a while now that the half-pack oven-lid bottom may not have ideal contact with the herb - except for the herb in the middle of the oven. Not a problem when adding the concentrate-cap (used with herb as an oven spacer) before puting on the half-pack lid.

A toothpick helps if the cap doesn't fall out when I try to shake it out.

If a person can watch this video and still not feel like the Pax 3 is the best out there(assuming they've tried it and already know how well it does flower,) they need to vape more. That's awesome. I never thought to try using the concentrate chamber upside down with the standard lid. That being said, I still have to admit that I didn't buy it for the concentrate chamber. I have multiple dab rigs and keep at least a few pen top cartridges around for portability at any given time. But after using the concentrate chamber, I'm a huge fan. It lets me try my shatter at a lower temp where you can REALLY taste all those terps. A couple times I've used the concentrate tank, it's put me to sleep. Last time was night before last, with a piece of Durban Poison(pure sativa) that was hardly visible to the naked eye but kept going hard for 10-15 mins. Oh, and I've had to clean it twice now in over 2 weeks.

The gasket is made from sillicone, and the Pax doesn't get hot enough to make that an issue. This does sound like it could in theory give the Pax more of a "true convection" flavor though, assuming the concentrate tank doesn't heat up the herb as much as the oven walls do. Did you enjoy the taste more? I personally would want to order a backup concentrate chamber before trying this.

If someone could tell me how it would be greatly appreciated.

I think I prefer the cheaper 3D design as well, because it's more like an actual Pax mouthpiece. And I can get the glass adapter for $10 or less. No shortage of headshops round here. I have 2 within 3 blocks. 4 dispensaries within 3 blocks lol.

The mouthpiece around the power button will still get sticky. The design wasn't changed all that much. But whatever the parts are made out of definitely don't seem to get as sticky as older models. You won't notice any stickiness in the oven until after at least a week of use. I wipe mine down with iso when I clean it, and have never had issues with the power button sticking.

You might see some flash sales ON 4/20, but as far as the PAX and the Firefly, finding them below $275/$325 respectively seems next to impossible. That being said, I feel it's $275 well spent. Zero regrets.

Nope. It suggests to me that the stores themselves are probably only getting them at around 10% off of retail. And they have to buy them 10+ units at a time. I think that the companies also don't mind people having to come to their websites for things like replacement parts and whatnot.

The Herb Cafe are doing CAD$10 off PAX 3, with another 5% off coupon code on top.
    With free grinder?
It may well be the best price in Canada, and I think there's less sales tax buying from USA so it might work out better than full price for some?

The 5% off coupon is great! However, the MRSP in Canada is $359 on these units. It's not really $10 off unless they sell for $349.

With 5% off it's a savings of $17.95 CAD; not bad. After provincial taxes it's still nearly $400 CAD.

I wouldn't expect huge online sales for these. I think Pax has to allow their retailers to put it on sale. I bet your local head shop will be willing to sell it at a more reasonable price for 4/20, as they're not in the spotlight of the internet.

I have to assume the reason that I've never seen a PAX 3 in a retail setting for under $275 or a Firefly2 for under $325 is that the stores themselves are getting them for no less than 20% below retail. Let's face it. Being a PAX/FF authorized retailer does as much for the store owner as it does for the companies. People trust authorized retailers of vapes with 10 year warranties, and even if customers don't buy one, they're more likely to buy a cheaper vape, or in a state with dispensaries, spend some money on some flower or concentrate. And the dispensaries know that someone that did just drop $300 on a vape is gonna want something nice to try it with. At least that's the way I've seen it at the few stores in town that actually carry the PAX 3(I've seen more that carry the 2, and I bought mine at a shop that does sell some cannabis vapes, and is an authorized PAX retailer, but is more about e-juice vaping(they have a vape lounge.) The few dispensaries that carry them seem to treat them more or less like loss leaders to get people into the store and hopefully buy a PAX3 and some flower and oil to try it with.

I see the pax3 at vapelifestore.com for 20% off. I added to the cart and the total looks like $220 usd. I have no skin in the game, not even interested in the pax right now. Just trying to help some members out. Hopefully some people will post more deals

Edit.. sorry promo code is "goldegg"

If I was buying from Herb Cafe I would email them with that info about the actual RRP, it might be a mistake but they might look after you properly for pointing it out.
    Anyway, how about this...
Cream city vapes, and use code FOUR20
From a document posted in 4/20 sales thread.
Unfortunately they don't use paypal and don't seem set up to ship to my area.
