What makes the 14500 batteries perform better than the stock ones? Not sure I get that one, to be honest. But I am all for it. Got them on order anyways.

They are just better batteries. AW is a better brand and don't make 14650

The specific specification most important to us, low internal resistance, is best for that particular make and model. Note the same maker's 2000 mAh version is not quite as good. This feature is traded off against the others.

Low internal resistance means low 'sag' and therefore maximum power out under load.

It's also worth noting AW is not really a maker, but a broker as I understand it.

That was the kind of answer I was after. I get it now, thanks OF!

I have an O-Phos for travel and was thinking of picking up an Omicron v2 or Persei for at home use. I want to be able to exchange cartridges. Which do you guys suggest?

    Hey guys,

I'm trying to perfect my fill method and am weighing my carts and extract before i fill. I seem to be losing .2 per fill. I'm not overheating the carts (i see no smoke coming out of the cartridge when i fill. is this just the nature of the beast? Should I assume that i'm always gonna lose some amount because i'm heating the extract? Thanks in advance for any help and / or suggestions.

It's not so much lost as stuck inside. Like the last half gallon in your car gas tank. It's stuck to the walls and soaked into the wicks.

You 'get it back' on the next fill. That is you put .5 grams in a new cart and get .3 out as vapor. Then, putting another .5 in (now .7 total inside) and get .5 out again before refilling again.

Thanks for your quick response OF! I totally get what you're saying, but i think i didn't explain myself well enough. I mean that i weigh .6 of extract in a cart that weighs 7.5 empty. After filling i'm left with 7.9, meaning i lost .2 somewhere in the process. I was wondering if this is normal?

You're welcome. No, that is not normal. I typically see about .050 difference between what leaves the vial and what shows up in the cart, sometimes more, sometimes less, a product of material left in the loading tool.

If this is a first use, suspect the tool? But 200mg is a huge amount of vapor. It did not go 'up in smoke'.....

Yeah seems weird to me as well. I'm confident in my scale, and weighing abilities so it must be something with my fill method. I'm not new to the omicron, i've been using it for 6 months and really feel like i have it down. I've tried a bunch of the fill methods - blow dryer, lighter, torch (never letting it get too hot) and i never see any smoke coming from the cart which i know is a good sign. What is your method OF? Do you do anything special?

Basically what's shown on the D9 site, except I'm 'old school' and still use the Winton #10 tip and toothpick since I can control it better (being thinner). I use a small torch type lighter. The key in loading I think is the preheating of the cart. What do your before and after weights of the vial show?

i have an idea! i heat the carts up empty for 5 seconds let them cool and repeat two times before i fill. I weighed the carts before i did that, maybe i burnt out some weight in the empty cart?

Could be, but I doubt it. 200mg is a lot of weight. Careful weightings should answer the question.

I also strongly advise against "dry burns", leaks and other problems can follow and nothing is to be gained.

Ok I'll stop doing the oxidizing. What exactly do you mean that the key is in preheating the cart?

Heat the cart with a lighter so warm oil does not drip onto cold metal, lets the oil flow to the bottom and prevents any air bubbles.

Is there any adapter I could buy or rig up to fit the tanks from ecigs? People sell tanks already filled locally so Id like to purchase a full tank rather than make my own oil and load the carts

Yes, sure. They're most likely 510 thread so you'll need an adapter to convert from the female m601 threads in your Omicron to 510 threads (female again) to mate. Delta 9, TV and no doubt a bunch of others make these. I' using a bunch of the ones "OneLove" used to sell for $2 to go with their overpriced and under performing carts.

By all means give it a go, but also try 'rolling your own'. IMO you get much better concentrate and more control. It's really pretty easy.

Received my new aw 14500 batteries from Lighthound today. I'll never go back to 14650. It also seems to work good with both the HVD head and the v2.5 head. I need to test more to see if I can tell any difference. Glad I saved two new 2.4 carts loaded with some fantastic L.A. Confidential wax.
Thanks OF for the idea and I agree that a mid-sized Omi tube would be an awesome accessory.

You're very welcome, spread the word.

The mid sized tube is supposed to be om the list of things to come, other stuff is ahead in line, but it's coming....

When it gets here we loose more than half an inch.

You have to have the long end cap that comes with the HVD upgrade or spacers.

Was looking into the HVD upgrade. I have a purple Omicron and was thinking of getting the teal HVD head. I thought it might be interesting to have a multi colored vape. My question is that on each HVD there is a big warning written in red stating that Teal HVD's can only be used with teal Omicrons. And only purple hvd's with purple omicrons and such. Each color has this distinct warning.

This question is primarily for G or anyone else from Delta9. IS THIS TRUE? can I really only use the same colored hvd head with the same colored tube? If this is true please explain why. This makes no sense as all colored omicron v2.5's and all colored hvd heads should be the same other than the color right???

Hopefully someone can point to some logic in this strange warning on the D9 site. As I would love to have a purple and teal omicron.

Also... I noticed that the 14500's everyone is raving about are only 600mah.... would these last a signifigantly shorter amount of time than the inlcuded 1000mah batteries included with the Omicrons? If so I dont understand the bennefit of them over the standard included batteries.
