Obama's comments about widspread legalization

I just heard about Obama's comments to ABC news. I don't have time to comment right now but thought it was interesting

I just saw that clip. I hope he means it!!

One of the positives is that he is in his last term and doesn't need to be concerned about being re-elected, so he has a lot more free room to operate in.

He said as much to the Russians.

I like Obama, but we've heard this before. He didn't exactly go easy on the dispensaries. I'll believe it when I see it.

Given his lies on the subject, I'm not going to waste my time hoping he is telling us the truth this time... but with that said, maybe he'll decide it's in his own self interest to keep his word... sure would be nice.

I think there was no way Obama was going to come out for legalization in April before an election, which is when the Rolling Stone interview took place. So I disagree about the significance of that interview. That said, the prez is being awfully coy about it. Why doesn't he just put in a guideline to defer to state regs and get on with it. Also free all the people locked up for this on federal charges. Let them come home for Christmas. Declare victory and let the prisoners of war go home.
