Everyone saying that the double weave don't let anything though must use a medium grind... I've got particles though it... I clean mine daily

I use the fine plate on the Brilliant Cut Grinder. Over the course of weeks/months, there will be a buildup of an almost honey like coating on the downstem of my glass. Mix of super fine particles and reclaim. I always use my piece dry, no water.

So for my grind with the fine plate on the BCG, I'd estimate it's easily keeping over 99% of the particles out.

I find the screen clogs, rather than letting fine particles through. I have to clean the screen every 4-6 days.

Maybe your material is super dry so it powders more? Not sure.

Has anyone received the 9110 newvape glass rig recently? I just noticed(stupid me) the mouthpiece is on the opposite side for holding in your left hand and placing flowerpot on top of bowl with their right hand. At least that’s how I use my g43 with a different glass piece. There was no option for left or right when ordering and I just thought about it now.

I've started keeping a small jar of water on my vape station just for dumping the SiC balls in after every dab. Def helping with clean up.

SiC can thermal shock. Not as badly as gems, but it certainly isn't quartz. I'd suggest against doing this, personally.

But in such a small sphere, doubt it's an issue. With my ruby/sapphire 5mm pearls, I don't hesitate to use an eye dropper to drop a mL or two of water into my banger full of pearls. I even do it with my streamrollers.

I've yet to crack a pearl or steamroller doing this.

The smaller the item is, the less imperfections it has, and the less chance for thermal shock.

Personally @emmdeemo , I wouldn't worry about it if you haven't had any issues yet.

Had this exact issue with 6 mm Sapphire and liger 20mm SiC. Just basing off of personal experience and science.

They're cheap, not like it's the worst thing in the world. Just throwing it out there.

OK, my Vrod built from parts kit arrived last night. I’m going to try and not be the new guy telling all you experienced FP users the same stuff you already know, lol.
It is because of you guys I own this masterpiece and was able to use it successfully my first try. I’d like to thank @Zangano Cruel @Baron23 @NewVape710 and many others for all the help you have given me and everyone else before me. Big thanks to everyone else that answered or asked questions that I learned from the answers to also.
I remember seeking this vape 10 months ago when I started vaping and laughed not knowing what the hell you did with it, lol.The more I saw videos of people using it the more I knew I would never want such a contraption, Yet here I am, lol.
Having it on and ready all day is crazy convenient and so easy to use on a whim! I still plan on getting the battery and chassis. Plan on plugging it into the battery while it’s already hot so all the battery has to do is maintain temperature while I use it in a different room or outside, then just plug it back into an outlet and charge battery when needed. Thanks to all! Got to post a pic of what you all have seen and might own, lol.

Started at 666° I am in the process of experimenting with lower temps. Right now I am using the carb cap with herb and have no problem doing that. Did one dab over weed and it was great, did one straight dab and it was the best I have ever had. I am however very inexperienced in dabbing, so if I’m missing something better that’s fine, I’ll enjoy this now, blindly unknowing.

Beautiful, brother. So glad you joined the FP family.

And, as you can see, @NewVape710 makes some seriously durable and incredibly well machined stuff. Its just wonderful to look at and feel to hand is great.

I see you did get the handle. I have handles on my coils. Yeah, they are a bit pricey perhaps and others have made DIY handles which can be easily done, but the NV handle is well worth it to me and I love it.

I cap flower all of the time. Others don't see the need. You will find your personal sweet spot for yourself.:rockon:

Thanks. I heard bud say he didn’t order one with his weedeater because he didn’t want to put it on and wrap it or something. I guess if you order both coil and handle they come already installed. Glad I decided to get it.

Wow, I guess...I didn't know that NV would install it for you.

WRT the handles, coils vary somewhat...especially the connector from the rigid part to the cable. I found with some of my coils, I needed to relieve the handle a bit on the inside to get good closure. Now, Edwyn pointed out that you really don't need a perfect fit, just screw it together and then wrap it with the hemp fiber.

He's right...but I'm anal so there it is! haha

Well I certainly appreciate the discussion you guys had, food for thought for sure.

So far, no issues, so I guess I'll carry on being the guinea pig until one breaks and then report back :)

For the record (tho I doubt it makes much difference considering the hiss my hot balls make (!)), I'm usually dumping the SiC balls into recently boiled water from the kettle, so its often times very hot water.

Decreasing the temperature difference will definitely help deter it from happening. Baking soda also can help raise the boiling point of the water and the cleaning in general.

Uh....why not just get one of the existing available glass bowls with glass screen and put your SS or Ti screen on top of the glass one. I gather you are trying to keep more herb particles out of your rig?
Because for me it has more to do with airflow! the glass honey comb screens do not have as good of airflow as the ti bowls.

@emmdeemo I used to dump my quartz pearls into iso as soon as I was done with a dab. They survived, but you can see the battle scares. I changed my cleaning approach since getting SiC ones, experimenting different ways. Now I just keep a little container with distilled water near by. After a dab I swipe around with dry side of a qtip, and then I swipe around with a soaked side while moving the pearls around. One Qtip, and it's all clean. Might be a small sticking before next use, but a little tap and they're loose. After a day or two, I'll dump them into iso and exchange with four fresh pearls. This has gone well for me.

sometimes the water from the qtip will ball up, and I got it moving around looking like another pearl!

Yeah, I was doing this with the quartz pearls and they def showed cracks and little chips in em, not seeing that with the SiC balls yet, tho obviously its easier to see in the Quartz.

Almost there...
For some reason my OG ShowerHead has snuck it's way back into daily rotation.
Using the Pan Head bowl with double weave Ti screen and SH set to 340C.
Massive smooth rips with thick and tasty vapor!
Careful on the 2nd inhale as it can get quite hot.

If this keeps up I will have to buy it a new controller, using an old and cheap China controller.
For some reason, the heat profile is different between it and my High5 controller.
When I use the cheap China one with my SV4 the taste is below average, switch to the High5 and it is epic again.
Maybe try a High5 coil for it first!
The old girl keeps impressing me!

What’s the consensus on using cracked/chipped quartz balls? Is there anything to be concerned about, or just use them as long as they’re vaguely round?

It’s pretty hard to see whether or not something with a 5mm diameter is damaged at all without a macro lens or I guess a magnifying glass or something. :ugh:
