Almost there...
I thought the page had gone quiet but not so,i hadnt gotten an email for two days and decided to look at the thread and to find ive missed 3 or more pages of comments.not to go off topic but why does that happen?

It happens to me as well!
I use GMail and if i do not open the mail and just select and delete it, the emails seem to stop.
Just open one every now and then and you should be good!

With alerts in general, if you ignore one to a particular thread, or leave it until later, you wont get another alert next time somebody else posts, unless you re-visit the thread. Then you have "re-set" things.

So if you missed an alert to this particular thread that would expain it.
I would imagine most members will have selected not to get email alerts. WAY too many emails that way, too many as it is!

Best to visit the site really. I think it is possible that there are occasional anomalies with the website function (which is mostly pretty excellent I think and quite underrated).

But even that is more likely to happen if you are relying on emails for alerts.

Right, Auto Colorado Cookies in Elev8r now. A very good evening to all.:)

@Alexis hey brother, I'm loving all your posts everywhere, you seem like you're doing well! Glad you're feeling well enough to be so feisty and throwing zingers at everyone lol, you must be feeling great!

There's been some good vibes here as of late, lots of good "help your neighbor" energy and knowledge exchange like the not-so-distant good old days. And funny LOL shit courtesy of @Zow237 in the end. I was bummed for you at first, it looked so thrashed. Glad the solution was as simple and gentle as washing-up!

The board members really make this thread an interesting place to pop around and see what's what!

Hi, all! Just wanted to drop a quick message thanking everyone for the knowledge and experiences they've been sharing in this thread. I've owned my flowerpot kit for about a week and a half now (I couldn't resist that twax bundle deal!)

I want to take the time to delve into my experiences in more detail later (if people are interested) when I've gotten a more complete feel for everything (between the showerhead and wrap-around dish, using them with different glass, temperatures, draw speeds, strains of herb/types of concentrates... there's a whole lot to try and experiment with! In the best way possible).

To make a long story short, it really lives up to the hype. My personal favorite feature is the extraction ability, especially with the showerhead when cranking up the temperatures. The flavors and smoothness are superb when I want to take my time and enjoy the process, but life gets busy sometimes, and being able to load a substantial amount of herb in the bowl and then fully extract pretty much entirely in one draw is... incredible. I'm an engineer by trade, so of course, I'm very impressed by the efficiency, both in how complete of an extraction I can get, and how quickly this tool can get me and my mental state right where I want to be.

Oh, and twaxing for the first time with this thing... nothing (NOTHING) has shot me into deep space as quickly as that experience. What an incredible ride.

Keep sharing the knowledge and good vibes! I've learned a ton (and been very entertained) from everyone sharing their own techniques and experiences as I've skimmed through most of this thread.

i just slow roasted a whole nug 0.21gr in the FP at 550F WA capped. Roasted one side, flip, then the other. Then chopped it down as the vapor diminished with the fiskars, this double dutied as stiring. Wish I had a plate of BBQ to go with this nug roast!

I will just have to make sure i leave a page open and just come and refresh ot when i visit, this isnt an easy thread to keep up with @Alexis and catching up is a nightmare lol.anyway im liking the showerhead enough to let it be my DD for now, lowering the temps and upping the load has made the flavour nicer but ive still not gotten my hands on any concentrates yet.a .2 bowl vaped at 690 witj shortish draws(so i get four little nice rips)gives me a really satisfying tingle on my chest.ive blasted 7g through this thing in about 3 days as well so i need to behave before a .1 hit does nothing anymore!id like to ask @Zow237 about his ssv and if he is using the ddave mod or ssv wand that comes with it?

Hey buddy, nice to see you with enough life to be getting back to yourself, I noticed your low profile and of course I understand why and hope you are getting on top of that virus now.

Thanks for the kind words, it is nice to be appreciated. I wouldn't say Im doing great, somewhat better for sure but Im just being myself, having and making fun for everyone (and "out of" everyone too lol), keeping community spirit high AND also trying to make valid and useful contributions to the forum (I specialise in the first two, have to wing it a bit on the rest so I dont get caught out.;))

And truthfully I have just been getting so high with the Elev8r. Still wish I could use the FP of course, but what a turn up it has been to discover such a noble interim model until Digi-Ti arrives soon. (Cant wait for that.) Im not sure I could wait for the Herbo if not for the Elev8r providing me with its top performance so that was a very timely turnup.

So, looking forward, working hard, keeping positive and trying to enjoy life is the name of the game for now.:)

Hi @disGRUNTled ,

Do you have a link for that waterpiece? Or the name? Looks perfect for showerhead

Sorry I don't I will be honest I do not know much about glass , I just kind of buy what I like or think will work. This piece is really nice and I use it quite often I bought it at a local shop it was 99$ which I thought was a good price it did have a sticker on it one of those circle ones that comes in different colors that you see on items at a flea market it said North on it maybe that is who makes it ?. Anyways a ton of knowledgeable dudes on here that can chime in look at the piece and find something close to it that you can purchase.

Got the quartz dish in the Flowerpot doing double deckers of Lemon Tree & Jolly Rancher.Listening to Cassidy freestyle on Tim Westwood.

I dab. A lot.
After consulting with electrical engineers, we choose a commonly available XLR connection that is capable of carrying 30% more current than other styles.

Now this confuses me. Did you guys ever use the smaller pin connections? If so, I ordered on Wednesday, will mine have this 30% more current? Or did you guys change this a long time ago?

brother, this has nothing to do with the current that will go through your coil. This has to do with current carrying capacity of the connector. Actually current drawn will be in accordance with Ohm's law, right?

I = V / R

I = current, V= voltage, and R = resistance.

This will be true no matter the connector. The issue is whether the current that will flow will exceed the capacity of the connector and, as evidenced by 100's of Chinese hot runner coils operating out in the wild on enails and the like, this is apparently not an issue.

Honestly, I'm just more curious if the connector will be the same as my current enail or if it will be different, I realize that the end temperature won't change much.

Is your current enail connector a screw on XLR? If not (and I doubt it but you may), then no....it will not be the same.

My understanding is that the controller and PID from NV are well made and function well. The only issue is compatibility with other enail coils/controllers which may not matter to you.

Otherwise, any 20 mm barrel coil and controller should work just fine (hint, fit your coils to your enail/FP to make them tight and spread from top to bottom...IMO, this increases the thermal transfer efficiency).

Cheers

It's a 20mm coil with this end:

enail-heating-coil-02_1024x1024.jpg
So ask yourself...does this connector screw on? No, it does not. Its a bayonet type XLR as are most available coils.

My understanding is that you own this type of coil/controller....is that right? If so, that it should be a bit apparent if it screws on or pushes on and locks in to place.

I mean, it doesn't look like this one from NewVape's site, does it?

Just to be clear, NewVape has not changed this recently. I believe they’ve been using the same controller and connector at least as long as the FlowerPot has existed.

Yes that means that their coils will not fit a lot of other controllers without re-wiring, but anyone who has a FlowerPot with the NewVape branded controller should be fine ordering a new coil from them.

As for the 30% more current, they’re saying that their cables can take 30% more current than they actually need or use. It may not matter here (at least @Baron23 doesn’t think it’s necessary in this case), but generally engineering things so they can withstand more than you’re actually require of them during normal use makes them safer and more reliable.

As @Baron23 also pointed out though, we haven’t seen an epidemic of other controllers failing there, so if you have a different controller from a decent company your only real concern should probably be finding a coil that fits the FlowerPot well and is compatible with your controller. You’ll can find more info on coils that might work for you by searching this thread.

I bought the SiC starter kit, I was just curious if they were just comparing other companies coils to their own or if they switched, that's all.

The Vape Critic I believe has a different box than what is being sold at NewVape.

You’re right, the box does seem to have changed a little in layout, but it looks like the same connector just in the front instead of the back. :)

Anyone found a replacement 20mm coil for the New Vape PID on Dhgate? I can only find them paired with PID's over there. Since its China sourced I dont mind going the Dhgate route if I can save a couple bucks.

Edit: Found em, listed under Vapecode on DHgate. Cheaper straight from New Vape :p

Same box, same manufacturer, minor cosmetic differences.

To be clear, I'm sure that the vapecode box and coil, as sold by NewVape, are just perfectly fine wrt to function and durability.
