Tried out the new wooden mouthpiece earlier, its pretty damn cool. The way the silicone works like a screw cap almost, just needs a gently turn into the slot. Gotta be careful not to go too hard, at least with my beta (which already had a crooked heater anyhow) I heard a creak few times but no cracks or anything, ztill working fine. Also only used mid level 1, then low as possible bc of a lot of heatsoaking left on unused with the PA, and with the bowl close like it came the extraction eas very quick even there. Best was to do tiny one hitter bowls, extremely efficient and not quite too hot, would probably be cooler with the battery not left on and using more efficiently. Also probably wouldwork better with basket either sway and a double basket to prevent crumbs falling and maybe less stirring that way and can pack more? bc the way i had it wanted to stir every hit for taste if it wasn't a one hit bowl... Since the wooden mouthpiece is secure and comfortable, more compact and just a nice wood tip glass chamber and a tight fit, just very nice, so need to find a way to stir less with it

Interesting comment about fast inhales, the way the heating program works the harder you hit it the harder it works to keep up. You can overpower it but so far it keeps up well. I've tried blowing bags on mid range settings and it is too hot, seems the constant stream of pumped air really makes the unit put out some heat. I want to get back to the bag experiment using low settings

I load big bowls and don't stir, just turn the stem. It is crazy how much vapor you get from fast inhaling versus slow.

The unit is pretty phenomenal for extremely small snaps.

Yeah, but on low temps riding it for a long slow draw is pretty ridiculous too, massive cloud off tiny amount one hitter bowl. Will try a fuller pack at some point too, and the double screen method I mentioned. With a fast draw I definitely noticed the heater keeping up, which it can do quite well, probably better high temp

Here is the MistVape blowing a bag. Temp set at 2 + (2.3 about), temperature was checked with a digital thermometer and it was 408 F. The air pump was measured at 2 liters/minute but that was without any resistance from the herb, the bag is a 3.78 liter plastic food bag.
The video is 3 minutes long and not so exciting, I missed the exhale on the video, it was medium density vapor. The abv photo is after two bags from the same herb I didn't stir the load.

Here is the herb and abv http://imgur.com/a/0XhoC

Finally have a working battery to test again, fits well, really makes it a complete portable along with the wooden mouthpiece (have the bowl deeper now, very nice with a course grind on low but only a couple hits in). It is a pretty atypical shape but not immobile, better on its side so as not to risk falling over, maybe more for round the house but even walking the dog potentially. Definitely unique and effective...

Got mine today!

It took some time but the package finally reached my home. Didn't get a lot of time to spent with although I got 2 nice sessions through water (Orbiter) at level 3.5 with the long stem but was disppointed with the shorty stem dry session I done although the weed I used was low quality (fuckin'automatic strain), I'll tried this evening with a better weed.

With the long stem i get the better taste stirring between hits, the shorty permits very small load only but i get a green ring around a black hole at the end of the (short) session.

Unit is slightly bigger than expected but still the average size of a small log vape (i.e the E-nano) with a different shape. Very easy to use, heat very fast but need a good heat soak to offers the bigger thicker clouds.

Now I need to test it a bit more, I'll report later with some pics...but I already like it!

Used the Mist with the battery pack today.

Charging was really fast , around 30mn before it reached a full charge. As expected it heat a bit less than using it plugged, although it helps to get a nice taste and to avoid charring, I got my better evenly spent abv with the battery pack. Plugged i tend to scorch the load but I didn't played a lot with t° since I set it at 3.5 (with and without battery).

I'm really liking the shorty stem since I was able to place it as the right distance for me, it's not easy since there is nothing (lips..) to help to keep the screen in place. I use a 0.05 load in average I think and dump it after 4-5mn and one stir before the last hits, dry use speaking only.

It works amazingly well with hash with only one stir at mid session and still using the 3.5 setting (plugged).

Taste wise, it is on the top level and cloud wise, you have only to look at the previous video from Paytonpenn...impressive isn't it?!

Level 30 Nature/Healer
I finally got a really good shot I approve of (second hit). The first hit was about 55 seconds of inhaling and herb with a medium fine grind. The second hit was with a very fine to pollen type grind. The second bowl wasn't combustion, I was able to get about 5 more hits.

nice! I ordered a bottle rocket, I could make a knock off I guess but I have enough going on right now. Looks like a great unit glad it pairs well with the MistVape.
I am working on an oil cup, getting great results but it is a bit messy. Hoping that I will have something for the testers this month or next for sure.

Been working with version 4 of the oil cup and am getting great results. Paired with the bottle rocket I saw a very dense cloud of vapor in the bottle. I will try to get a video posted next week.
I still have several units from the last mini production run available.

Yesterday I was able to play more with the Mist (I'm very busy actually...) and get amazing results dry!

I have issues to find my sweet spot, I think there is a lot of heating differences in the level 3 heating range...actually I set it at 2/3 of the blue section (level 3), a bit less and stirring is needed or you don't get a fully brown abv and a bit more and you char the load.

Since the load is so tiny I like to put a pinch of kief or a drop of concentrates (shatter or reclaim) to get a longer session and thicker hits. If I use very small amount it's absolutly not messy.

Rotating the stem is enough and I don't stir anymore, it's nice cause stirring is a PIA with a so tiny bowl!

I still not used it outside and honnestly don't plan to make it except around the house.

And still not tested the battery longlife, I made 2 sessions using the battery before to plug it back.

The concentrate glass capsule seems interesting, can't wait to look at your video!

Here is a stem loaded with two small dabs. Temp is set a bit past 4. I didn't exhaust the load, I think a couple more hits maybe.
Haven't tried hotter since I really like the way this works, great relief for my back.
here is what a dab looks like, the wire is .055" in diameter so the dab is only a wrap of concentrate about 1mm thick and 4
NStFpwo.jpg

mm long. This was a new cup and it takes a dab to "prime" it. After the first use a single dab is all you need.
Apologies for the lack of music.

I have a working prototype, that is something I feel I can make for testers. The looks are a bit rough but if it works I am willing to have these made at a stamping shop.
Cranking up to just under max temp on the MistVape I got pretty dense clouds, not as dense as @paytonpenn did in his video but he has a knack. Mid to late September I should be able to ship to testers and hopefully we can find out if this design works with other vapes.

The Mist is my actual Daily driver, I enjoy how warm&smooth is the vapor, in the same time.... this is give a nice blunt smoker feeling....without any harsh in the throat. I enjoy how fast it heat, how it handles concentrates and how tasty and cloudy is the vapor.

Like Paytonpen I prefer to use mine plugged cause performances seems better.

I prefer it to my Milaana or Apollo... if this is means something to you even if we are only speaking about personnals preferences.

What's a vape!

Nice, yeah Mist can definitely play with the big boys, anyone on the fence should jump on one while they still can imo, another great handmade wooden convection vape with pure power and flavor. The fact it can be cordless is icing on the cake, it's a phenomenal desktop but capable of more... Glad you are enjoying it too dude, we need more new users in here!

Let the loaded oil cup heat up for about 5 minutes on high (just a little below the 5 setting). This produced a dense vapor cloud, much denser than my video. I'll put together a new video this week.
The air path is a bit restrictive so I want to experiment with that some but I should have some units for testers in the next few weeks.

I wonder if that is because it allowed more conduction to take place? Well radiation form the heater then conducting to the oil cup, then convection when you hit it?

could be that it just takes some time for the cup to heat up and I wasn't waiting long enough. Also when I use it sooner I get a good bit of vapor but not so dense in the bubbler. The effect from the lighter vapor is great for me but I know some users like to see the dense clouds so I'm pushing this to see what is possible.

Been working on the oil cups and testing extensively :) I have a reasonable manufacturing method but these are still early beta. I should send one or two out to testers this week.

The Mist heats so fast it is close to be an on-demand vape. Since it's turned on you can use it, sure for the first 2-3mn it's more for flavor even if you can see some vapor and since it is heat soaked it's flavor town and clouds city together for ever!

One of my main issue with this device is how fragile it is...the wood body seems very thin and I can't imagine what happens if it falls from a table on the concrete. I don't plan any drop test!

I use it more dry with the shorty mp. A small load doesn't need any stir but only to rotate the stem. The same with the long glass stem with gong using a bubbler, only large loads (not so large in fact) will need to stir.

Definitly a great unit! More for vapor snobs or medicinal users than for everybody, amazed to see what a lone guy can do (or maybe not so lone...)!!

Actually lone, just me but I had great feedback from the forum, @paytonpenn lead the way. Only took six years to get it right.
The MistVape is actually pretty tough, the thinnest wood parts are just under an eight inch (about 3 mm). I don't recommend any drop tests (there is the glass chimney in the burner) I think it would survive a drop from the desk top.
thanks for the nice review
