MiniVAP Vaporizer

Hello everyone. New to posting but not new to this site. First thanks for all the wonderful info. Got a minivap and had two wonderful expieriences, then nothing. Have to admit both times it worked was the best vapor I ever tried. Especially compared to my pax and ff. sent it back to vapornation,
who has excellent customer
service. Hopefully everything will work out because there is something to be said about the vapor quality of the MV. Once again hello, thanks for the info, and happy vaping.

My Decar Chamber arrived today and I`m happy with it so far. :)

My first experiences are :

- montage very fast and easy.
- bigger ring is now bit loosy in the chamber, you can put it out only with your finger which I liked. (easy cleaning)
- pulling produce more vape and it`s much faster until the vape arrives your mouth.
- more clouds in low temp. (testet with pink)

Not sure if there`s any flavour missing, need to test a bit more to get a result.

Overall good update for the MV. :D

Damn, looks like I have something new to order.
It does seem to make sense, but it's alway great to get confirmation.

Did you order direct from Hermes? Did it take long and did you need to chase?

hehe,...

It makes sense for me, my first thoughts about getting more nasty cough`s where fly away.
Because of the benefit that you don`t need to pull that much after heating up.

Did you order direct from Hermes? Did it take long and did you need to chase?

Yes ordered directly from Hermes.
This time it takes only one day to delivery with DHL Express and maybe 1-2 days to proceed my ordering.
But my last order was a bit of a nightmare, it tooks about 2 Weeks to get my extras including flexicone+ for free. :)

Hope it helps, waiting for other reports...

Could someone please explain the decarb kit.
I think it is a steel sleeve that insulates better (?) and increase the temp in the chamber.

I'd say mV has 3 usable temps now. Why can't you just go up a temp, e.g. use heat range 3/red instead of 2/green?
And won't it then push the red range to a higher temp than you really want? I assume Hermes set red range at highest heat you'd reasonably want to vape??

Just very curious what it actually does/ is it something I'd want or everyone should get??
Thanks

Is there value as my main technique is to start on PINK temp. You get the most wonderful lemony whispy hits there. Would the decarb push the temp up and you'd miss this effect?
Then I go to green. Then I go to red.

What is really confusing is the name/ decarboxylation.
Decarboxylation is a chemical reaction that releases carbon dioxide (CO2). This means a chemical reaction takes place in which carboxylic acids loose a carbon atom from a carbon chain. This process converts THCA to THC, the much loved compound with many medicinal and psychoactive effects. This happens at 246 degrees F.
So, cannabis decarbs well below vaping or combusting temps. If you vape or combust, the herb has decarboxylated on it's way up the temp scale.
So what's with the name?
Appreciate any insight

found this in the net, also old but gives some information....

The brand new metal liner increases the conduction effectiveness of the miniVAP. Although miniVAP uses conduction unlike other vaporizers it also uses convection for as the user inhales, air is passed over the material creating some convection. With the metal liner there is a more direct heat and the metal holds the heat more effectively, giving the miniVAP even more stable temperature.

The miniVAP already has the most stable temperature of any portable vaporizer. And although it’s heat exchanger and core materials provide a platform unmatched by any other portable, miniVAP goes a step further with the all new metal liner. This simple piece allows you to switch between Teflon and metal liners causing a slight difference in the edge of the vapor.

If users want a little more direct heat, the metal liner gives a slightly more visible vapor while the Teflon gives a slightly cooler heat at the surface of the filling chamber, which slightly effects the taste and flavor of the vapor. While the metal still offers consistent heating just like the Teflon, it adds a bit more conduction surface which leads to a slightly heavier vapor.

This new flexibility means that miniVAP offers more taste and flavor than any other vaporizer on the market. Now users can fine tune the bowl, to get just the flavor and taste wanted. Other portables really do not even meet the same effectiveness in terms of holding the temperature constant at all velocities. Yet, now miniVAP goes a step further by offering the ability to slightly change the surface of the filling chamber, causing a different flavor.

It`s like I thought in the begining, going to slightly more in direction to conduction vaporizer, with convection....

I received my new metal liner (decarb kit), no instructions, so I took off the original teflon liner, it was not easy (you need some tools) and I think my original teflon liner suffers by this treatment but I took it off and placed the metal liner (2 metal rings....) and started a session on red..... this improves the experience in term of time, you can vape your bowl faster and the vapor is coming a bit faster after a draw or 2 BUT you can't achieve a darker abv, I didn't see any difference about abv's color.

My metal liner don't stay in place, if I turn my MV upside down without cap the metal liner (I prefer this name) is falling down.

I need more testing (I just done 4 or 5 bowls, don't remenber) but it still delivers the cleaner and stronger high, the better taste and nice clouds!

The ML (decarb kit) is a bit expensive imo, it's only 2 little pieces of metal but Hermès Medical sent me with it some goodies: a black flexicone and a medium basket (really nice cause one of my favourite basket don't fit in the ML and it is nice for a short and intense session.

ps: It seems to me my MV don't heat enough actually but in fact the issue was the strain (automatic, not the best in term of resin) if you have a poor strain everything is vaped before the abv color turn brown (especially with a 90% convection vape)

Good vape!

Well my heater seems to have freaked again. Under AC or Battery it just refuses to get to green or red temps, just flashes. A little different from before but with the same resulting loss of heat. Warranty procedures started for the 2nd time. Dealer us in the UK so was four day turn around last time so no so bad from vapefiend. Only issue I see is VF seems outta stock of the black version.. My version. He's gold, silver.. And even an apparently limited edition green one.

PS: didn't let me edit previous post.

Good vape!

I found a way to have the decarbox ring to stay in. Remove everything till you see the heater, put one screen, the decarbox ring, then the small teflon ring.

It does hit harder.

Seriously considering getting a second unit as a back up.. Only two days without it and whilst my solo still does the trick like the lil trooper always has, I just can't shake the feeling that every stem I zap is a stem wasted that I coulda tasted.. You feel me?

Pay day soonish so who knows.. That green MV may grace these digits and breathing apparatus. I'll see what Vapefiend says today.

@Rogah! Nice, I'll be sure to try that once my DCR is ordered.

Edit: Hey Rodge, you always have only one screen above the heaters own screen? Both my units so far have had a dual layer of screens(just two screens together).

What was wrong with the unit?

On another note, I've been trying to contact Hermes throughout this and last year... Still no go, so I'm throwing in the towel, biting the bullet, and replacing my favorite portable with a new one from VaporNation

My feedback about the metal liner, if it improves the cloud production in term of time (the vapor comes faster!) I didn't feel any difference in term of thickness, so the metal liner helps to keep a more stable t° but don't increase it, I tried oil and it don't produces clouds with concentrates...

But that you get in term of time you lost it in term of taste,.... did you notice taste is less floral than with the teflon liner? I'm thinking to come back with this one....but it is a bit destroyed since I took it outside....I understand better why they are solding teflon liner....

But I need to think about what is for and against.....I like to be able to get shorter sessions!

ps: Thanks for the tip about the smaller teflon ring RogerD, it's a lot better with it!

I don't know what the problem was. I dealt with vapornation and they sent me a replacement ASAP. They definitely know how to treat customers. So buying through them will cut out your communication problems. A

My first unit died the first day of use. Guessing the heater died. My replacement is working great, but it seems to have battery issues. I don't know if it is the charger because sometimes the light will turn solid red, but then sometimes it blinks. Definitely getting a wall adapter.

This is a mysterious device, but a very rewarding one as well. To me it seems that the feeling this device delivers is as smooth and clean as the vapor. Many vapist who own the plenty say it is on par with the mv's vapor quality. Can this be true? With many of them having never tried the MV, I don't see how there could be a comparison. On another note, does anyone with a MV also have the herbie? If so how does the vapor compare?

Could explain exactly when/how it blinks? Are you talking about the temp light or battery charge level light??
I assume you know the temp range light blinks as it is warming up and then stays solid when up to proper temp. Thanks
Or are you talking about when it's in the charger?

I'm talking the green and red light on the charger. With my first devise the green light would turn a solid red, then back to green when charged. This one does that sometimes, then sometimes the green light will flash red about every three seconds

The only reason I question it is because my battery light on the vaporizer will be green at the start, but then it will go to yellow and red fairly quick. A lot quicker than my last one, which makes me think the battery isn't getting proper charging. I'm definitely not complaining though because it always has enough charge to do what I want it to. Great machine!!

I just received my unit from VN. My unit was ordered last Wednesday, processing took Until Monday, and then I receives the unit on Tuesday. IMO, not the best shipping service I had, but The people at VN are really easy to talk too. They also seem like nice people, so it might just be a fluke. The unit itself had some weird dust thing near the bottom of the Vape, above the battery. The Vape itself had some deformities; the white plastic thing that surrounds the bowl is a little high at some point, the ring around the top of the cap had chips in it, and the battery pack has scratches in it. All of the points I brought up are just aesthetic issues and me being critical. The unit itself performs remarkably. I tried flowers in the bowl with the plastic mouthpiece (gets a tad hot), silicone bowl with the metal bowl thing and a glass stem combo( gets a bit hot, but lots of flavor. The metal bowl makes cleaning a breeze!), plastic MP (gets hot but surprisingly has tons of flavor still), and the silicone bowl with long straw (doesn't get hot, but the flavor is a little washed out by previous sessions).

Overall, I love my Minivap. You can draw as hard as you want and the vaporiZer will reciprocate with unyielding love for you. The flavor is absolutely amazing through this Vape... So tasty and unadulterated. I can hand this Vape to all of my friends and they are able to use it pretty easily. It can even satisfy my friend that is a combustion only type of guy. This Vape works great with concentrates too! I tried bubble, but haven't tried wax yet. The battery life lasts manny sessions. The only thing I can complain about is the size of the unit. It's quite large in comparison to the other portable vapes; however, one must not forget that it performs like a desktop Vape! The ABV is almost perfect in consistency...
IMO (minus stealth factor)
