If a leisurely and comfortable vape experience is what you seek, the MiniVap will fit that slot.
It heats up more slowly than some portables, but the sessions are long and productive.
Productive in the area of clouds... and also in the area of getting the job done.
I have never left a MiniVap session dissatisfied.

    1. I microdose, like 0.015 - 0.02 gram over 2 sessions. You could load more in the baskets to allow for more sessions
    2. Flavor-- the flavor is top notch and vapor quality too. I will say this--I've never had any vape give better flavor, it's just how close they come to miniVAP
    3. Very open draw. I always finish every load at 445 F and it never chars the load VS many vapes that max at 410 F and they still char the load. I usually use a low restriction water bubbler as all vapor is very dry----bubbler used to moisturize the vapor
    4. Home based portable- it's the only vape I know of that is a desktop (with the small AC puck) OR a portable with longest lasting battery. 5 seconds to change over.
    5. It can be a hard hitter if you load it up
    6. Because of the Flexicone basket modules which keep herb enclosed, I know of no vape that needs less cleaning and maintenance. Especially if you add a small degummed hemp fiber filter in the Flexicone---to catch all the micro particles that get sucked out of most vapes.

I've used many many vapes and this is still my #1 vape---it has held off all challengers for many years :)

I have a couple nearly new Mighty's that almost never see action and a Haze Square (little use--just to try it out) and many VapCaps that hardly get used plus many others..... the miniVAP is just so flavorful and easy and clean and versatile as it can be used with mouthpiece, whip, J-hook, inverted in bubbler, hydratube onto it etc

P.S. The Flexicone basket modules are pure genius

@MinnBobber is spot on. I should've listen to him looooong ago. It would've saved me tons of cash. Now I'm stuck deciding which ones to get rid of. Minivap for me is making me sell off a bunch of my other prized devices.

What was the general consensus again concerning glass or teflon?
Glass for dense vapor through water tools and Teflon for taste?

I prefer the teflon for maximum flavor quality.
Glass is for those that just have to make it hit harder---but I've never heard any complaints about teflon not hitting hard enough. Glass extracts quicker with a slight flavor penalty, but still a supremely flavorful vape. If MV tumbles off table, glass core is , well. glass...

They do make a little kit with a stainless steel insert that makes your teflon somewhat like a glass ( both glass and steel add some conduction).

    Teflon for max flavor.
Glass for max hit/ fully extracts with slightly fewer pulls.

I assist a lot of vape newbies and IMO, 99% are better off with mV teflon unit

@MinnBobber ,@Vitolo, @buckhakeesah, @beyond6strings, @ataxian, thanks so much for all your comments. trying not to waste money and get the best from the start. I am planning to get a miniVAP during the 420 sale.

@MinnBobber, are you loading the baskets and dropping them in the heating chamber or attaching the baskets to the flexicones directly?

Can I throw in a F#ck Photobucket here? Done. My pics are held hostage there, won't pay the "ransom" to get them released.
Sorry, but a pic would help a lot.

I always always always have mine as a "Flexicone wire basket module", snapped together and then pushed into the cover hole, and then cover screwed on.
And always with @Ratchett Delta 3D silicone water adapter , which is much more than just for water.
    https://delta3dstudios.com/portable-vaporizer-accessories/minivap-vaporizer/

Flexbasket module is: bottom to top/exit: wire basket, herbage, Hermes rimmed screen, tiny degummed hemp filter above the screen, Flexicone cover---- all snapped together into a module and pushed into cover.

?? back at ya? If you "drop a basket into the heating chamber", what exactly goes on top of that? Screen? where, how?
    No Flexicone? Flexicone + ??

Some new folks so to remind.
Flexicones are the silicone lids, cone shaped and [IMG]

Flexicone + Hate that they named them so close

I'm not @MinnBobber either, but I exclusively load baskets and attach them to a cut down flexicone +, which is in turn attached to a j-hook. I don't use the lid during sessions

also wanted to report back on my experiences with the PEEK quick core. bottom line, it's great. heat up time (red heat setting) is about 2 and a half minutes. there is a slight aroma that I can smell when it's hot if I put my nose right up to it, but I can't taste it during a draw. flavor is extremely pure. right on par with the teflon core. it seems to be more powerful than my old teflon core units, but that's probably largely attributable to the new core technology (my teflon units were the old style with no draw sensor, etc). I don't think my glass core unit actually provided any better extraction, and I get massive clouds from the first hit until the end. red heat setting leaves uniform milk chocolate ABV every time. I'm really happy with it

How can you tell if your unit has this no draw sensor? Can you share more info or a link on this so I can read about it? Now I'm curious whether my units have this feature.

While using mine yesterday, I let it sit and took a draw whenever I wanted but as I watch the mouthpiece to see if any vapor was cooking, I couldn't see any visual vapor or detect much smell coming from the mouthpiece.

So for those without this sensor, is the Minivap then constantly cooking the material? Please elaborate if you can for this Minivap noobie.

    Thanks

the miniVAP has a timeout feature so that it shuts itself down after a little while. the draw sensor can "sense" when you take a draw (I assume it's triggered by the decrease in temperature). units with a draw sensor restart the timeout whenever it senses you taking a draw, so it won't turn itself off in the middle of your session. I think the feature was implemented with the core update in 2015. maybe 2016. I believe every new unit produced since that update has the draw sensor.

are you cooking the material in between draws? maybe slightly if you load directly with no basket (I've never actually done this. too OCD :ugh:) I always use flexicone + ring screen + basket attached to a jhook and just put the heater and jhook (with flexi module still attached) down separately after a draw. ensures a perfect seal between the flexi-module and the heater, applies zero heat to the load in between draws, and keeps the mV immaculate. original credit for this naked method goes to mV OG @Roger D

edit: there is no best way

I copy @Roger D style....old Teflon core, large basket, rimmed screen and nipple directly onto a 14mm male bubbler (don't have as much luck with 14mm female bubblers). No lid.

I use the MV without the baskets. I just pour my herb in. Quite a few around here use this method and I thought I would give it a try. I like it better and cleanup is no big deal since this is a quality vape. It is a great deal for 420, don't pass it up as it doesn't get much better.

If you live homeless with a shopping cart for your stuff don't get a MINIVAP.

If flavor is important get one!

Sorry to chime in on the MINIVAP.
I like it 4 flavor achieved
DAILY at 420 it's more CIVILIZED than most!

I liked fat gorilla sized finger joint's as a SURFER of real waves!

    The MINIVAP is very CIVILIZED!
Not 4 the LOW INCOME TRASH TYPES!
    "M" R decent in rotation.
The MINIVAP is more 4 people who like FLAVOR!

wood is beautiful 4 art ?

For my first go with it, I loaded it the way @MinnBobber recommends but then I plug the flexicone nipple end into the cap first, then screw the cap with the flexicone installed down onto the core. You'll find your way. So fun that you can do so much with this guy and I've just begun.

Thanks to all who have replied, and for explaining how you are using the miniVAP, with flexicones etc. Based on all the positive experiences, I definitely need to add this as my 2nd device.

I am pretty sure I saw a video showing it done both ways and perhaps there isn't any difference. What I saw was filling the baskets and dropping them in the core, then place screen in flexicone, flexicone in lid and screw on lid.

OK, so I just tried this method--drop just the basket in core, place flexicone with its screen into the lid, screw on lid.

When you screw the lid/Flexicone on, the Flexicone lid does not attach to the basket. The Flexi pushes against the basket but comes apart when you open the lid.
So how does the "empty it" drill go with the open basket hanging there??

When used as a "Flexi module" (all snapped together) :
after I finish at 445 F, unscrew the lid with Flexi attached to it, inhale 1,2,3,4 thru the lid , and that cools the Flexi so you can immediately dump the ABV and reload.

The unloading routine is also where the Flexi shines: you can immediately reload.
Contrast that with Mighty Dosing Capsules that stay hot f#cking forever (just ask my burned thumb and finger) :)
and with the VXL EVO----hate that for unloading /reloading.

As always, very interesting to see all the ways the miniVAP can be used---there are a million----and one ;)

@MinnBobber, did you notice any difference in draw resistance, hit strength and a difference in vape temp?

Those were all the same in ----complete Flexi module VS basket resting in chamber with Flexi just pushing against it when lid is on.
I will continue to use mine as assembled Flexi modules (wire basket + rimmed screen + Flexicone + tiny hemp filter). And actually I usually have a tiny coarse screen above the hemp filter to keep it from getting sucked into the exit port of the Flexi.

Draw resistance is still very light with "extras" ---one tiny/thin hemp filter and one extra tiny screen.

Personnaly I use the Glass core more than the Teflon core cause I find the vapor smoother and thicker in the same time cause the add of a bit of conduction and flavor profile is slightly different. I like the shorter inhalations too. Although the Teflon provide a slightly more delicate taste for sure but it makes me cough sometime and makes my mouth dry cause the very long inhalations and the hot air Stream. Taste doesn't degrade a lot during session with teflon, a bit more with glass.

I like the glass core cause it is able to vape efficiently moist flowers, teflon can't do that, you need grinded dry flowers, the QGC can handle moist ungrounded flowers efficiently as well concentrâtes.

Received my miniVap from 420 POTV sale a few days ago and tried it for the first time last night. Only other experience is with Solo II and M18 Dynavap.

Loaded medium basket loosely, close to full, attached screen and basket to flexicone+. Started on the 2nd heat setting (pink led) for 2-draws, pure flavor not much visible vapor, then switched to 3rd heat setting (Green) for another 7-10 draws which produced a more enhanced full flavor with very good vapor production. What I noticed over the Solo II and Vapcap is a much smoother almost creamy vapor quality. Taste seemed completely pure and unaltered. Where the same strain would cause me to cough every inhale through the Solo II at about 380F, the miniVap should I dare say was much more CIVILIZED (used this word my 1-free time :-) ). It seemed to be very efficient with extraction with no hot spots in the material, with a very nice, even, toasted look. Even though I am a newbie, I can detect the quality with this device.

My one area of concern, is on the longer draws, the vapor would get uncomfortably warm, and the day after my gum areas are a bit sensitive, like you scalded your mouth a bit with hot soup or similar. The Solo II also caused some day-after sensitivity as well, but didn't feel hot when you were drawing on it, at least under 400F. Since I am already using the flexicone+ which is suppose to provide cooler draws than just the flexicone with plastic mouth pieces, does anyone have any suggestions?
